Ms. [redacted]s was referred to Scope/Hanger  by Dr. [redacted] from Kaiser on  11/7/2014 for an ankle brace.  The prescription called for a left Arizona brace.   On December 10th, 2014 Ms. [redacted]s’ first visit was measured and casted, as per her...

prescription.   The fabrication of the brace takes approximately 3 weeks.   Ms. [redacted]s’ next appointment was January 19th, 2015.  On the 19th Ms. [redacted]s was fitted and provided her AZ brace, as per her doctor’s order.   Ms. [redacted]s was pleased with the fitting, and signed the acceptance of the brace that concluded her business with us.
On February 6th 2015, Ms. [redacted]s returned to Scope/Hanger stating she was no longer pleased with the feel of the brace.  The clinician sat down with her and reviewed her fitting, as the devise was inspected to conform to her prescription.   The patient was informed that the brace she had received was as the doctor’s ordered.   Ms. [redacted]s complained that the feeling of the brace felt tight.  It is not unusual for a patient to have to adjust to the new feeling of wearing an ankle brace.   Ms. [redacted]s was informed that she may want to purchase a better foot-ware.
On February 18th, 2015, Ms. [redacted]s came back and complained that the brace still felt too tight.  She was informed that she might want to purchase a shoe ½ a size bigger and that the brace would be adjusted to that new shoe,  but she refused.  Ms. [redacted]s was not pleased of being told that she might have to contemplate on buying a new pair of shoes.  The patient was instructed to schedule an appointment with her Kaiser doctor to go over and review what she had been prescribed.  Hanger provided the patient with an additional ASO (ankle support orthosis) item, along with the brace she had and was instructed to show both to her doctor.  Patient left with both items, seemingly unpleased of having to buy a new pair of shoes. 
Hanger/Scope contacted the Doctor’s Office for a status report and to find out it her prescription had changed.  We were never informed by the MD’s office that any changes were required.  Ms. [redacted]s is still in possession of both, the AZ brace and the ASO brace, which was provided at no cost.
Hanger/Scope has done all in its power to accommodate and please this patient.  We’ve seen Ms. [redacted]s on 3 separate occasions, providing her with 2 left foot/ankle items for her condition and still to this day her MD has not changed her prescription.  There is nothing else Hanger/Scope can do for this patient, and if she wasn’t planning on using the ASO, she should have returned it.

Review: I thru my insurance ordered diabetic in soles. A new cast was made altho previous insoles were ordered by number on insole and worked perfectly. I received the insoles ,they looked like a cave man made them,evern the lady who took care of me said they looked bad.and after an hour could not were them anymore due to pain in feet and legs. I put old ones in and called the next day.I was told to come in when conveinent . I had knee replacement on 2/25/14, and these were considered a must especially after surgery.I came in but the adjustments were not working. I called next day and was told they cannot help me go back to the doctor who sent me to them. This is a nation wide bussiness specializing in this type of things.I thought they are under contract with the insurance to take care of me. If nothing else anyone going to them beware!Desired Settlement: I would like my orrhotics to work as my doctor ordered.

Review: The doctor order a brace for me. When I went to the office to be fixed for the brace. I order a plain one.I ask the lady if it would fit my shoe, she said yes. But it did not fit. She ask me if I wanted her to order me a pair. I said no. It took twenty minutes to work the brace in my shoe with me wear them. She said take the brace and work on it at home. She was running my blood pressure up so left. I call back and another young man was helping me, I said go buy so bigger shoes.I did not need bigger shoes I need a wider shoes. I wrote Kaiser about the problem. She wrote back and said they could not buy me shoes. I did not ask them to buy me shoes. Just give me the brace I ask for. Because I wear a special shoes. They send me to all the wider place in San Diego. They could not fit the brace. One of the shoes store told me it was a special shoe store that Hanger use. I was not told that I did not no it was untill wide foot store mangers told. Why was I walk around with the brace. Hanger should tell people the true. My Insurance paid for to brace that I can not use I need some help.Desired Settlement: I would like the brace that I order. Hanger should tell people about the special store for the brace. So they can pick the shoes they want. MY ankle is still hurting with on help .The manger cut the back out of the brace and gave back to me what can I do with brace that the manage cut the back. Can I get help. One of the lady that support to help you just tell big lies. She wrote me and told me they could not pay for my shoes, I did not ask them just give me brace that I order plain and simple
