Scorpian Computers Reviews (1)

Review: Scorpion Computers LLC repaired my computer twice. The first time was on 02/03/14 less than a month later it broke down again. Since I have to rent a car to get to this business the receipt will show the second repair was paid for on 03/08/14. Before I brought it down I called and asked if there was a guarantee or warranty involved with his repairs. I was told absolutely. A 90 day unconditional guarantee and a full year "limited warren" The second I identified myself and told him he fixed my computer less than a month ago everything change. Visibly angry he told me this "guarantee of repair" only applied to costumers who never had repairs done by him. He actually said that. After I reminded him what he just said made no sense what's so ever and I'm contacting The Revdex.com he said he would give me a "break" repair it for only $40.00. so I rented a car again and drove it down. The bill was for $60.00 not $40.00. I refuse to pay. He than told me that my choice but now he'll keep my computer so he can un-repair it $85.00 and charge for the estimate $60.00. I had no choice. None. I hope I have room because this is what I found out next. My computer started to act up again. Rather than deal with this thief again I tried to return the pc back it's original settings. I could not and this is why. All these things I am about to tell you where done without my permission and all are illegal. He completely change my computer hard drive. It was now longer even the version of [redacted] 7 I had left before he change it. It was now [redacted] 7 Professional and my recovery drive was rename and encrypted. I could not access it. He locked me out of my own computer. I'm running out od space. He refuse to tell me the password, told me I should be grateful for the upgrade. That's when I found it. He left I my computer an illegal bootleg copy of [redacted] 7 Professional. When I called and told him this he literally said, "OK you caught me what do you want.He picks up your pc and returns it.I just found this out.He refuses.Desired Settlement: Replacement of now useless laptop. [redacted] 7 Home Premium .You can find them easily on [redacted]. I can not use [redacted] 8, for physical as well as metal reasons. I also want the second repair and the car rental fees refunded to me. They were all unnecessary. They have a pick up service. And I demand a full investigation into a "repair service" whose sole purpose is to make sure only they can fix it. They are running a repair service with software that is illegal.I have proof.

Response:

To Whom it May Concern,[redacted] has dropped off his computer on February 3rd, 2014 with a boot manager missing" message when his computer was turned on. It was determined that the best course of action for repairing his laptop was to reinstall operating system. The repairs were completed promptly and he picked up his computer on February 5th, 2014. we installed [redacted] Professional 64-bit, as a courtesy to [redacted]. A 32-bit operating system has a limit on memory (RAM) of 3.5 GB, and since his computer can accept more as its maximum, we decided that if he ever wanted to upgrade his RAM, his operating system will already be adjusted. One less thing to worry about, in our eyes. This is something we do for all of our customers in similar scenarios, and he is the first that voice a concern.it is also important to note that we never offer any warranties on operating system installations, or virus clean ups. It is simply impractical, as when a computer leaves our hands it is completely out of our control.Second time [redacted] came in was on March 3rd, 2014. His system was running incorrectly again. Since his computer was repaired about a month earlier, offered to install operating system again, and do it at a discount. Instead of 85 would charge him 45. He agreed to that. Computer was again repaired promptly and customer picked it up the next day.We have offered to downgrade [redacted]s computer if he wishes, but at this point it is impossible to make any kind of a reasonable contact with this gentleman. The prices he quotes in his complaint are false as the invoices and check in receipts provided show. Also any sort of contact we have had with [redacted] is attached as we have communicated using email. The installation disc he has found in his dvd tray is a copy of a completely legal [redacted] installation disc we have here in the office. It is not boot-legged" as suggested. It is a copy of something we legally own.As far as his computers recovery partition is concerned, we do not have a way, nor are we interested, in locking customers recovery partitions. There isn't any other way that I can explain this. It is impossible that we have locked anything. We are still open to finding a resolution with this customer. We can reinstall an operating system his computer originally came with.??
