Scorsone Automotive, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: I came to Scorsone Automotive on March 5, 2014. I have been having issues with my car so since they were next door to my job I decided I would get it fixed there. My check engine light was on and the diagnostic determined it was the oxygen sensor. My car was making a loud humming noise and the wheel was shaking. I asked the owner [redacted] to look into o why these two issues were according. He told me it was the Left Hub and the Left hub bearing which would equal out $235.oo parts and the labor was $300 but the labor included my oxygen sensor time also. I picked up my car later that evening and I noticed my car was still making the noise and my well was still shaking. I took it back the next morning and [redacted] called me and told me that my car will be additional $3000.00 to fix. He failed to tell me the day prior of the excessive amount because he thought the hub bearing were the issue. Instead of [redacted] making me aware of the excessive charges I paid $650.00 to repair my car instead of telling me the initial cost that will stop the noise and wheel shaking.Desired Settlement: I would prefer a refund because when I took it back to him he said he was sorry for the miscommunication and should have told me . He said he didn't want to tell me about the large sum because he didn't want to throw that big weight on me. But he doesn't know what's in my best interest when it comes to my cr. So he knew he didn't tell me the initial amount it would be to fix my car. My car is 1999 my car isn't worth putting $3000 of work into it.

Response:

WERE SORRY THE CUSTMER IS NOT SATISFIED WITH OUR SERVICE. IN RESPONSE TO HER CLAIM AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, THERE WERE 2 CODES 1 FOR THE OXYGEN SENSOR THE OTHER WAS FOR VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR. WE REPLACED THE OXYGEN SENSOR, AND THE HUB AND BEARING WAS TO FIX THE SPEED SENSOR CODE. THAT VEHICLE GETS THE INPUT FOR SPEED SENSOR FROM THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR ON THAT WHEEL, THAT BEARING WAS BAD CAUSING THE WHEEL TO WOBBLE BACK AND FORTH A FEW INCHES THAT WAS CAUSING THE VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR CODE, NOT TO MENTION THAT IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE JOB WAS ORIGINALLY 100.00 DOLLARS MORE, SHE SAID SHE DIDN'T HAVE ALL THE MONEY SO WE GAVE HER A DISCOUNT, SHE DOES WORK NEXT DOOR AND WE WE WORK ON OTHER EMPLOYEES CARS THERE AND THE OWNERS VEHICLES. THE NOISE SHES COMPLANING ABOUT OUR HER TIRES, THERE SNOW TIRES WHICH HAVE A MORE AGGRESIVE TREAD PATTERN, THAT TENDS TO BE MORE NOISEY THEN A REGULAR TIRE. THEY ARE ALSO OUT OF BALANCE CAUSING THE SHIMMEY, THE CUSTMER BOUGHT THESE TIRES SOMEWHERE ELSE. WE TOLD HER OUR REPAIR WOULD FIX THE CHECK ENGINE ENGINE LIGHT AND MAKE THE CAR SAFE TO DRIVE. WE NEVER TOLD HER IT WOULD TAKE 3000.00 DOLLARS MORE TO FIX HER CAR.
