I am rejecting this response because: documentation was not provided showing that I was properly notified, and agreed to, any additional amount due
To whom it may concern,This is in response to Scott Greskovic's response dated
2/26/Unfortunately, this response has still not satisfactorily addressed
my basis for this complaintThis complaint was not formed on the basis of
miscommunications, major personality conflicts, wasted time, project's nature,
or the suchAlthough this project was filled with all of this, and much more,
these 'losses' at this point have been accepted and put in the pastThe basis
of this complaint is one strictly related to unethical billing practices
Scott Greskovic opened up the response by stating
"there was never a formal contract for a specific amount" yet then
provides an invoice based upon a specific amountOur initial agreement was for
$6,A 1/deposit was made in the amount of $2,for this initial
agreementAs we have both mentioned, the original agreement was replaced with
a new one on June 2, In Scott's response everything was quoted from that
June 2nd email, except for the following which was conveniently omitted:
Here’s the breakdown - Greg’s estimate hasn’t gone down
drastically, so he's estimating hours of development timeI believe mine
would be between 20-depending on whether or not you’d like to “re-skin” the
siteSo we’re at $on the high end and $on the lowIt’s probably
surprising that there isn’t much of a drop in time, but our limitations here
have almost as much an influence on time as our larger scope didAnd
truthfully, I believe Greg’s initial quote was probably low just due to the
fact that we were quoting for a list of tasks, the majority of which we could
never see laid out in front of usThat’s the reason I even brought up the
extra hours initially - estimating time is very difficult, and to go under
means you aren’t getting paid for your time, and going over sometimes means a
client walks before they understand the reasoning behind the estimate
After confirming multiple times that the project's maximum
fee would be $5250, I did believe that there was no confusion as to thisScott
did mention, however, that if the project required additional time that I would
be notified of thisIt is standard practice to notify a client if a project
will go beyond an initial agreed upon amount prior to such an event, so that
they have the option of approving it, or notI am once again asking for
documentation showing that I was notified of this adjustment, and agreed to it
prior to just being charged an additional amount that was I not made aware of
properlyIt should be noted, again, that Scott was paid the full amount of
$5,And again, this seemed more than reasonable given that my critical deadline
was not met, and that it was necessary for an outside 3rd party to
be paid a significant amount for tasks which should have been Scott’s responsibility. Sincerely,***
