Scottish Dream Tours

Everything about this Scottish Highlands and Islands tour was wonderful. The arrangements were flawless, at least to our eyes. Any blips [redacted] might have discovered with his daily checking and rechecking of reservations, were solved way ahead of time. [redacted] also had a great "reading" of the personalities and interests of our group and several times changed the itinerary to personalize the tour for each of us. Three examples stand out: several of the group had an interest in Scapa Flow. [redacted] tried very hard, although unsuccessfully, to add a visit to the Scapa Flow museum to the tour but it is far away and hard to reach, so we had to settle for a previously unscheduled drive/hike to a lookout where we could see the bay and get an oral history lesson of the area. The second example was that our co-travelers were not big drinkers. Much to our enjoyment, [redacted] switched several of the "extra" whiskey tours for stops at jewelry and weaving centers instead. The best however, was that many of us had ancestral ties to Scotland. Where feasible, [redacted] arranged the driving routes to pass near or at clan centers for quick stops or photo ops. He never failed to point out clan connections in the scheduled stops and often gave us great "back stories" the formal tour leaders did not share.

Romancing the Highlands was the tour that I took. I am a solo traveler and was very comfortable with the tour. It was well paced and the hotels and restaurants were great. I particularly wanted to see the Tattoo and am happy to report that we had perfect seating. It was a wonderful finale to the trip. [redacted] and [redacted] are terrific hosts and did whatever they could to accommodate the interests of our particular group. I hope to join another of their tours in the near future.

Scottish Dream Tours was, by far, more than we expected. [redacted] and [redacted] are fantastic hosts. They made us feel more than welcome by sharing personal stories of their backgrounds and family histories. They both offered a wealth of knowledge about the areas we visited. We did a house tour, so most evenings we dined in and were treated to [redacted]'s delicious cooking. The places they picked for our midday meals were always wonderful. We found their interaction with us to be very warm, genuine, and quite enjoyable. They were just fun to hang out with. Great senses of humor, and very professional. I don't know that we'll ever top the experience we had with them in Ireland and Wales. I highly recommend them to anyone, and would go again with them in a heartbeat.
