Scott's Auto Reviews (1)

Review: I recently had repairs made to my car. I went to scotts auto to pass inspection I know the problems with my car had been fixed. I asked the guy if he could check my car and see if it will pass he nodded yes. Then he continued to inspect my car failed the car and now he is charging me one hundred dollars for the inspection. I refuse to pay one hundred dollars when I know nothing is wrong with my car if I had waited one more day I would pass. I'm upset cause he knew I had just got the car repaired and he new I would not pass and I feel he is taking advantage of me because I do not understand the inspection process. One monitor was not ready and he inspected the car and failed the car and now he wants one hundred dollars and if I go back there to inpect again he wants an additional forty five dollars. I had told him I will return once my code clears and he told me he did not care as long as I pay. So he kept my license and my registration. So I called the police and asked them but it seems they don't understand what I am trying to tell them. Please help me. I will gladly pay the one hundred I will even pay the additional 45 but I want a sticker my car is fixed and he told me to drive the car as long as possible for the code to clear I just wish he told me that before he tried to rip me off.Desired Settlement: I will pay the 100 dollar fee as long as he inspects the car when the monitor is ready.

Response:

The customer actually came in a week earlier to get an inspection, while talking to the customer he said he just had his engine light cleared a few miles ago before coming in. We explained to him he should put more miles on his vehicle so his computer can rest or it may not pass inspection. When the customer came back a week later he asked if we had time to inspect his vehicle now. He never asked us to do any diagnostics or testing to see if his vehicle was ready, other than the engine light on or visible smoke we would not know without doing further testing if a vehicle will pass or not. We went through the inspection process and his vehicle failed because multiple systems were not ready. The customer pulled out his own scanner and the tech took time with him to show him how to read his scanner and how he would know when the systems were ready. He stated he was upset because the place he used to go and pay $100 and pass not matter what is no longer open and wanted us to illegally take $100 and put a sticker on his vehicle without it actually passing. The customer did come back the following day and pay the $95 he owed for the inspection. Today is the last day the vehicle had to pass inspection and the vehicle still has not passed. So there is a possibility there is something wrong with the vehicle.

Response:

He said he went to the [redacted] 3 days later and passed. I am enclosing a report from the [redacted] showing the last time the vehicle went through inspection was here, it never went through inspection since. I am also enclosing pictures of the vehicle taken this week with the old sticker still on it, proving he is lying. He did not go to the [redacted] 3 days later and pass. The inspection process was explained to the customer, that is why we did not inspect the vehicle the first time it came here. We have never done an inspection that was not done in the correct manner. He said we inspected his friends [redacted] a few weeks earlier, but I checked our records with the state and it has been over 7 months since we inspected a [redacted] He is saying we knew his codes were not reset, but we could not know that without hooking his car up to a scanner/computer. The statements that are being made by him are not true, he is lying.

To explain the attachments.

The yellow sticker that is in his window is a 2013, if he would of went to the [redacted] and passed he would of received a Orange 2015 sticker. The Vehicle Inspection Report provides the information from the last time the vehicle was inspected. This report was ran on 10/10/2013, as shown in the bottom right corner, which means the last time the vehicle was inspected was 9/09/2013 and it failed.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Regards,

I feel threatened and I feel as though I am being stalked so I'm done with this before they come and try to harm me or my family over this nonsense I will speak with a lawyer and se what he says about the stalking.
