Dear Revdex.com,
RE:  Complaint [redacted] against Scotts Home Repairs & Remodeling.
I would like to add to my last email.  I made it sound like the situation was not resolved.
Scott [redacted] did refund me the $100 I asked for, though only after I reported him.
I am satisfied he refunded me the money, though still very upset that it came to this.
I still would never in a million years hire this man again, nor recommend him.
But you can put in your file that this was resolved.
Thank you,
[redacted]

Regarding  case number [redacted] a complaint by [redacted].    As she said I did agree to get the paint off of a metal porch railing in order to get it ready for painting at a price of $350.  The chipping paint needed to be removed and the rest smoothed out .  I let her...

know before the job that I would be using an electric sander  and a metal grinder and would not be able to get into the intricate details of the railing.   I did just that,  I went to the residence twice spending a total of 11 hours scraping and sanding the railings until everything was smooth and ready for painting.  There was one small section that I was unable to get to because it was up against a column on the porch.  I didn't want to scrape the column causing it damge so I did leave that small section which I do have pictures of.   She demanded that I come to finish the job on a Sunday which I told her was my family time and my day off and would not come then.  She became angry and demanded a $100 refund.   Ms. [redacted] was offered a refund of $50-$60.  This is what I thought was fair for my time into the project and materials purchased.   She told me on April 25, 2016 thru emails that she and her husband spent 2 hours 45 minutes extra on the project which cannot be because in a previous email she said how good everything looked when she checked on the project just before it was finished.  She then emailed me on May 3, 2016 and lied and said she had spent an additional 2 hours more on the project than she had originally told me.  Additionally on May 3 , 2016 she started threatening me and my business telling me "you will regret this".  I have worked for hundreds of customers since 2008 and have never had anyone complain about my work, my professionalism,  my work ethic or had anyone threaten me or my business. I have never been treated so rudely by a customer.   She will get back a refund which is being mailed May 4, 2016 of an undeserved $100 and will never accept her as a customer again.

Review: Scott [redacted] agreed to get all the paint off a metal front porch railing for me, getting it ready to paint, for $350. He understood it had layers of old, chipping paint on it, and looked at the project before giving me a price. A few days later he said he was finished, so I mailed him a check. When I went back out to the property to look at the railing, I was shocked at how much paint was still left on it in many areas. I was furious. This is chipped, peeling paint that he had left, that I obviously could not paint over, not finishing the job. Entire sections were left untouched. I called him and asked him to complete the job, but he said he would "send me a refund and not do any more work for me". I spend 2 hours sanding, then 2 more the next day. My husband spent 45 minutes with a pressure washer. These were areas that were harder to hit with the tool Scott was using, but if a 57 year old woman with arthritis can sand these areas, so can a Handyman who had been paid and promised to do so. I asked for $100 back, and he is refusing, saying he will only give me $50 - $60 back. I even think paying him $250 for this would be unacceptable, and I unfortunately paid him $350. His unprofessionalsim and not guaranteeing his work, then treating a customer so rudely, is unbelievable.Desired Settlement: $150 refund for not finishing the job, leaving us several hours of work to do, for lying to me about having finished, for refusing to come back out and finish the work, and for being treated so rudely.
