I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Never once did I ask you to send a mechanic a check or anything of that nature so tread lightly. Throughout the process you have tried to make it seem as though I am shady however you are the one that sold me a truck that does not run and have made nothing but excuses. Your email has a may 10th date on it which is how many days after my 1st complaint, I told you I was going to the Revdex.com so you tried to make it sound like you were helping in the emails.   Again you admitted you did not even have the truck checked by your mechanic so I am stuck with the problems.  I do not get items at wholesale so unfortunately the mechanics can charge me whatever they want, that’s the reason I took it to 4 of them and told you to call any one.  You refused and after much going back and forth you said well fine then send me the parts so I can fix them.  I’m sure you saw repair estimates with a $168 part and $1,500 labor for the high pressure gasket so you figured that was your way out knowing I would not agree to that.  I cannot send parts to someone who has lied to me and ignored me as much as you have, I have no idea if these parts will ever be sent back or in what condition.  I offered you to pick a mechanic and you didn’t even acknowledge the idea, you have nothing but excuses…you say you didn’t tell me to take it to any of these mechanics but what was I supposed to do?   I told you right away I had problems and you said that it isn’t your problem and things break so basically deal with it.  I also noticed you won’t even acknowledge the oil leak with silicon covering it because as you say “that doesn’t affect how the truck drives so why is it your problem”.  That is not anything a reputable dealership would say.  You say the 2nd mechanic quoted $700 just to diagnose however that was the 3rd.  Have you ever seen 2 mechanics come back and give the same exact prices?  That’s called shopping around and something everyone should do and exactly what I was doing.  Anbody else would have took the first mechanics price and demanded that from you but I didn’t.  That is why I kept trying to make you happy and find the cheapest place wasting diagnostic fees at each place.  Why do you think I did that?  I can show you my amex bill where I paid these people to diagnose the problems but somehow you are concerned…..I am concerned I am never going to have a truck that runs.  It’s been 3 weeks and I still have nothing to show for my $15,800.  My responses to your emails are attached just in case you forgot about those too.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I am Writing in Response to Complaint # [redacted]  Against Scottsdale Auto Center. Addressing There Response. [redacted]had Offered this $335.00 Out of Pocket, Settlement on 6/20/15 2 Days After I Had Reported This Complaint to The Revdex.com. I Had Spoken [redacted] Webb Service Manager @ [redacted] on 6/8/2015 Regarding this Matter, since that is where The pre-buy inspection was done, he responded and Told me he would look into it With [redacted]. On 6/10/2015 [redacted] Webb called me And Informed me that [redacted] Had Came In To the dealership, so He approached [redacted] on the matter and [redacted] Told Him he had already Mailed Me a Check For $670.00 The Week of June 8th. So I gave it a week just to see if [redacted] Had been Truthful with [redacted] @ [redacted] So I looked for the Check Which never showed up . After receiving the Truck on 4/16/2015 I Tried on Several Occasions to reach [redacted] By Phone and By Text with No Response, Then I would Contact [redacted] to get some kind of Response of some kind only to get one reason after another why [redacted] Hadn't returned My Calls or respond to my Messages so I Could explain the Two Issues That are in Question. Regarding Pre Buy Inspection, I never received a Written Copy Of This! Scottsdale Auto Center DID  the Day they Picked up the Truck, They Never Mention Not One Time anything about the Issues that the Truck had Which were Clearly Wrote On there Inspection Sheet That I never seen a copy Off. I also work very hard so to be able to continually Respond about this over the Period of Several Months it is very Frustrating when all I am Expecting is What Scottsdale Auto Center Should have in the Beginning Taken care Of.  Thank You Sincerely [redacted]

Regards,

Hi Brittnee,

thank you for getting back to me. I have never opened a complaint with the Revdex.com before. When I entered my complaint I did not see any option to add photos. I also assume someone would be contacting me to get more details. My mistake. I find it disturbing that a car company can clear itself of any wrongdoing by simply providing a piece of paper saying the car is okay. they declared the car "no accident" this truck has been involved in two significant events. Each one would warrant a lower price if it was declared. I find it very hard to believe that they did not know the real condition of this truck. The rear quarter is still damaged and not properly secured. body filler and paint used to make it look good just for the picture. even more concerning is the flood damage. This would've been extremely obvious to anybody examining the truck. I am now having engine problems which Chevrolet says is due to water damage. I do not drive this truck very much so I'm sure I've only seen the beginning of the problems that will occur due to being submerged. So far I have spent countless hours cleaning all the muck out of this truck. It still smells. When removing the seat back upholstery I actually found a dead frog. I have not gotten inside the doors yet. But I will soon since I need to replace the speakers because they have since failed. I had contacted [redacted] and [redacted] many times to work something out. They always said they would call me back but never did.

So this issue is not resolved. I expect some amount of compensation since it is unrealistic for me to ship this truck back across country.

Complaint ID: [redacted]

We are writing in response to the above complaint. When we

had possession of this 2008 [redacted] F450, the truck ran and drove fine, it had no

mechanical problems and it was safety checked by [redacted]. If

there was some sort of issue with the truck when we had it in our possession we

would of repaired it and we would absolutely not ship a truck knowing it has an

existing problem.  As originally asked,

when the truck was at the diesel shop to take the two parts off the truck and

send them to us and we could have cleaned the DPF filter if needed and checked

the EGR then sent them back to you and would have had this resolved in a week

if there was a true problem. With you not willing to send us the parts it has

only delayed resolving the issue. We do get wholesale cost on parts and a

wholesale labor rate on the DPF cleaning. If the unit was in town and not in

Texas, then we would be able to inspect it and repair it with our contacts who

do all of our mechanical work and we could have had the opportunity to inspect

them and try to take care of this problem that you are saying the truck has. I

spoke to the owner of the dealership, he said with out you giving us the

opportunity to inspect or being able to repair this our self, he is willing to

participate 50% of the last estimate as a goodwill gesture to you. The last

estimate from Double G Diesel is in the amount of $2,265.00 and we will participate

$1,132.50 towards your repairs. We would like to resolve the issue but it needs

to be fair for both parties. Please note [redacted], we did sell you this truck at a

discounted price of $15,800 and waived the doc fee for you. The original price

of this truck was $16,800.

Date: 08/10/2015Re: Complaint # [redacted]We are writing in response to the above mentioned complaint. [redacted] stated in his response that he tried to contact us after he received the truck; we however have no record of correspondence following his purchase until he sent a text message to [redacted] on May 7th. This is 20 days after he received the vehicle. He stated in his response that he had two issues. We did inquire why we received such complaints after such a long period of time had passed since he received the vehicle. His response to us was that “he had not driven the truck until now”.  We did find out after investigating [redacted]’s initial communication that there was an error with [redacted]'s original inspection. [redacted] is one of two clients that purchased a vehicle from Tennessee requiring transport. Both of our clients requested a pre-buy inspection and both were shipped with the same transporter given their proximity. The information given by [redacted] was for the other vehicle. We believe that the information given to [redacted] was in human error and that is why [redacted], offered to pay $375 towards the cost of his repairs. We sold the truck in question to [redacted] for $12,500. This was already discounted from $13,500 plus a $300 dock fee in addition to the shipping cost of $1,100 from Arizona to Tennessee. We are a small licensed Arizona dealership and we do our best to represent our inventory as accurately as possible. Our main goal is customer satisfaction. We have offered to cover half of the cost of [redacted]’s repairs even though we are not responsible for the inspection report given by [redacted]. To satisfy our customers is our main priority. Thanks, Scottsdale Auto Center

RE: Complaint # [redacted]

We am writing in response to the above referenced complaint

number with [redacted]. After we agreed on a price of the truck, we took the

truck to [redacted] for a pre-buy inspection, as we do with most customer who

are out of state to make them happy. At the same time we took another 06 Ford

F350 truck to [redacted] for a pre-buy inspection, with both of these customers

being from Tennessee

and both having similar phone numbers. We typically discuss and have the chance

to fix issues found on the pre-buy inspections for our customers. Both

customers were happy and we picked up both of these trucks after inspection and

shipped them both to Knoxville,

Tennessee on the same transport

truck. They were picked up April 10th/11th and were delivered 3 days later. We

had never heard anything from [redacted] until he texted me on May 7th, 20 days

after receiving the truck, stating that there was an air bag light on and that

the power steering pump needed to be replaced. After I spoke to [redacted], I figured

out that the service advisor might have made a human a mistake in reading the

wrong pre-buy inspection to [redacted], as [redacted] states. Our concern was why [redacted]

didn't contact us upon receiving this truck stating that there were any issues, like the air bag light being on.

Upon receiving [redacted]'s invoice for the repairs he made and figuring out what had

happened, the sales man [redacted], offered to pay [redacted] 1/2 of the ticket, $335, out

of his own pocket even though it was not actually [redacted]'s fault. We would gladly

send him $335 to help cover the repairs he made on his truck. We sell 20-30

trucks a month and we try to do the best we can being a small licensed Arizona independent

dealer. We hope that this will help out and make him happy.?

Please let me know if you need anything else, you can call

me or text me anytime or any day of the week, I am always available!

ID# [redacted]

We are responding to the customer complaint ID#[redacted]. The

first time I heard that Dave [redacted] said he had a problem with his...

truck he

sent us a bill/estimate for a repair. The estimate he sent us was from Diesel

Performance for $2,900, which seemed like an absorbent amount. I told him that

we are not sending this mechanic a check just because he tells us to. I

explained to [redacted] there were two options, ship the truck back to us so we can

inspect it and fix and repair the problems or to have the two parts removed

from the truck, box them up and send them to us to inspect them and if needed

we would replace/repair them. We thought that was a very fair solution for both

of us. One of the parts is a DPF and we have a guy here locally who bakes them

and cleans them at wholesale cost which is roughly $125-200 and we could have

the EGR tested and repaired or replaced and a brand new one from our local [redacted]

Dealership is roughly $350 and then send them back to him which would easily

solve the problem. [redacted] stated to me that they could not do that which had us

concerned. We would like the opportunity to take care of the problem, if there

is one, but they are unwilling to do what I suggested them to do so we could

solve the problem fairly and cost effective. He has also sent us numerous

different estimates from different places and we never told him to take the

truck to any of these places. One of our other major concerns is that the

second mechanic he took it to said that he could not even diagnose the problem

with out spending $700 in repairs that needed to be done first before he could

go further with diagnosing the problem. So that gives us concerns about the

first estimate that he gave us and the other following ones as well. We have

attached the correspondence from [redacted] and our responses, along with all of the

estimates. Our offer still stands to send us the parts so we can repair or

replace them or send the truck back to us for our mechanic to inspect and

repair the truck.

We have attached all of our responses to [redacted], we do have all of his responses and all of his estimates.

Thanks,

Date: 02/6/2015 To: Samantha Oberdank Complaint #: [redacted] We are responding again to the above referenced complaint. As we stated, we are a licensed automotive dealership. We do our best to research and know what kind of vehicles we are buying and selling. We use two of the best resources in the automotive  business which are [redacted] and [redacted]. There is no rust in Arizona or California and by looking at the facts, there is no way to say that Mr. [redacted] didn't take the truck off road and under water. We do not just send money back because a customer tells us to do so. If he was unhappy with the detail, we will gladly sending $200-300 as compensation so he can have the truck detailed to his expectations. We do not rip carpet up and take dashes apart to inspect vehicles before we sell them. We buy and sell vehicles off the facts and do the best we can to explain and describe the vehicles we sell. Please let me know if you need anything else, you can call me or text me anytime or any day of the week, I am always available!  Thanks,[redacted]###-###-####

Review: They advertised a truck for sale, all original, never painted or any touch up paint on truck, No rust on truck, Aluminum Wheels, their is not aluminum wheels on truck,He ([redacted]) Every thing works on truck, their is nothing on it that doesnt work, I went threw great detail to ask about all things working, Radio, cruise control, wind shield wipers, Fuel guage, 4 broke shocks, transmission mount broke, all of these things didnt work or broke, Rust was painted over with fresh paint, approx 50 % of truck was painted to cover up fading or rust. To Whom It May Concern:

We sold this customer a 1993 Dodge Ram Cummins Diesel truck over an ebay auction.

We do the best we can to describe these vehicles to the best of our knowledge and this is

a 20 year old pick up that was very clean and we do include 60 pictures of every angle

and undercarriage and all tires of all of our vehicles. We did a complete walk around with

this customer before he bought this truck. He never mentioned anything about the wheels

to us before buying the truck. It is clear in the pictures that this truck had aluminum

wheel covers and not aluminum wheels. This is a pristine truck that is 20 years old with

only 130k miles. It runs and drives great for being 20 years old. We watched the exact

same truck run through ebay before out auction and it did not sell for 19k. We sold our

to our customer for 15k which was a very fair price. We would be willing to split the

wholesale cost of the aluminum wheels to make the customer happy.

This is stated in every ebay ad that we post on ebay:

Regards,

They are the ones that offered to pay for me to buy aluminum wheels since they advertised aluminum wheels on the add, and like they said they showed close up pictures of tires not wheels, and yes they walked around truck with me on phone and lied about multiple things, They said the truck was all original and never been painted, I asked several times, and yes its been painted, I asked about everything on the add, they said everything on truck works, so I asked in detail each little thing, Cruise, radio, wipers, fuel gauge, none of these worked and yes I asked about them, 4 broke shocks, transmission mount broke, they said no rust, the rust was covered up with fresh touch up paint, I sent them pictures showing the tape marks where it had been painted and also all the bubbled up rust that had been painted over, that's why they putt so many pictures so it looks like they are not covering up anything, but any crooked car dealer knows what to take pictures of and what not to, I even thought I could tell that their was touch up paint on hood, and they told me multiple times it was the suns reflection. and yes I do still have the add from ebay that shows all that they advertised. When I received the truck and called them about all these problems, they were willing to do whatever to make it right, the only right thing was to come get it and give me my money back, but they said it wasn't a big deal, if they need to buy the aluminum wheels and transmission mounts they would, so I said I could live with that, even though it wasn't right, I did agree to it, now they want to pay half of wholesale on wheels, I cant buy wheels at wholesale, they lied about so much about truck, I think the least they can do is pay for wheels like they said they would and at the price that I have to pay. The part that gets me is that I keep my end of the deal and payed them in full, now they need to keep theirs. I dont think if it was the other way around they would be willing to take half the money for the truck. so I dont want half the money for the wheels. Not forgetting all the other stuff like paint, cruise, fuel gauge, shocks, transmission mount, radio, wipers, rust etc. I did my part and payed, they need to do their part, if they had been honest we wouldn't be going thru this now.

Review: Truck was advertised as TWO OWNER, NO ACCIDENT! California Truck! for $10,000. What was delivered was a flood damaged mess that had a significantly damaged rear quarter was poorly covered with bondo. The inner fender has ripped out welds and is separated from the outer fender. The inside had been hosed out to look good in the picture. The floor padding was still soaked. All exposed metal in the cab is rusted, Under the dash the seat frames. Mud was packed in every crevice under the vehicle. I would not have purchased this truck for any price if I had seen it in person.Desired Settlement: I paid $9000 for a $6000 truck. I deserve a $3000 refund.

Review: I contacted Seller about 2008 Ford Pick-up Truck Vin #[redacted], for purchase, we discussed price and How

vehicle should be Inspected before Purchasing. Myself And [redacted] agreed to send it to [redacted] for Inspection

I Agreed to the inspection and to pay for it which I did $125.00. I called the Individual person that [redacted] told me To call after the inspection, He told me all the Truck Needed was the Third Brake Light Bulb Replaced and Rear Brake Pads, which to me is normal maint. So I thanked him Gave him My C/C # For Payment and hung the phone up and called [redacted] To Finalize the Truck Sale. I Wired them there Money, Truck came to me App 3 weeks later By Ind. Car Hauler, Upon Unloading the Truck I noticed Passenger Air Bag Light was on and didn't go off upon driving the Truck Home I noticed a little Jerking in the Power steering Thought it was probably just from The Transporting. After several weeks I only had a few chances to drive the truck, Finally got time to Take it To A Diesel Mechanic, he informed me

at that time it needed A Power Steering Pump And A Passenger Side Airbag Relay Switch, which would be $670.00

I told him to repair it which he did I emailed the Paid Invoice to [redacted] for them to Have, we discussed this issue she said she would get With The Owner [redacted] and Get back With me. After [redacted] and Myself discussing this By the Records She Had The Dealership had given me The WRONG Vehicle Inspection Report It was for Another Truck Not Mine, On the Phone Prior to Me Agreeing to Purchase the Truck. I have also Contacted [redacted] the Service Manager At [redacted], he informed me He Had Talked to [redacted] A His dealership And [redacted] Told him He had mailed me a Check for the repairs on 6-8-15

Thanks,

Response:

Review: We received a 2008 [redacted] F-450 from this dealership on 04/24/2014, had it shipped to our store and received on 4/30/2014 to use as a delivery vehicle for our business. When we received the truck the tail lights and headlights would not work, I asked the company that delivered it if I could note it on the delivery receipt and he said no so I immediately called the lady whom I had been speaking with and let her know. Upon inspection and taking off the lenses on the back lights all the bulbs were broken and were full of dust so we replaced the bulbs and everything worked. This was a sign of things to come, the headlights to this day still do not work and we cannot figure out why, we only drive in the daytime so we accepted it and moved on. On 5/1/2014 we put it to work and the driver called us an hour later to report that he didn't think the truck was running right but we had him continue, assuring him he would be find because we just bought this truck. He calls us a few hours later and says the truck does not run correct, warning lights are blinking, and power is cut down so much so that he cannot get above 50 mph on a busy freeway. Thankfully he was able to limp into the warehouse and get back safely and we immediately let the lady who had been helping us know what was going on. She then informed me to talk to her boss (one of the owners) and see if he could help because he is more mechanically inclined. After speaking with him the first time all I got out of the conversation was that things break and basically it was our problem. Again I accepted that hoping something would be simple so we took it to a near by mechanic to have it checked out. He checked it and came back with an estimate of well over $4,000.... He wrote on the quote that one of the high pressure gaskets had silicon on it as a temporary fix, DPF bad, and EGR valves bad. Cost for the gasket repair is over $1500 just in labor because they have to take the whole cab off. I am not one to just accept a bid for anything so before I let this dealership know I went to a 2nd mechanic. He came back a little cheaper and noticed pretty well the same things only cheaper so I felt a little more comfortable presenting these prices. Each mechanic said we should probably attempt to give the truck back because there are going to be a lot of problems down the road. I decided to give the owner a call and he asked to see a copy of one of the quotes so I sent him the second shops quote and that's where things went bad again. I was told that it looked like we had a buddy write up the quote because it didn't have a phone number, I gladly offered up the phone number and could provide any information he needed with multiple quotes. He said he doesn't see why he should have to fix the faulty gasket with silicon because the vehicle can still drive leaking oil, a reputable dealership would never say something like that. I told him I was going to wait until I heard from him to do anything with the truck at 4:29 and we close at 5 but I would wait till I heard from him to leave. It was 7 before I gave up trying to contact him and heard nothing so I left, he never responded again and just left me waiting knowing I was waiting on his call. He responded the next day with no solution again basically saying it is my problem. On 5/13/14 I took it to yet another mechanic who found even more things wrong and there is just no winning with this dealership, he says he believes the mechanics are fishing for work and that he does not trust them. I cannot possibly keep taking it to mechanics so I offered for him to pick the mechanic, set up the appt, and do everything direct just let me know where to go and he is not agreeing to that. He admitted to me over the phone his mechanic had not looked the truck over because it only had 75,000 miles so I bought someone else's problems. Now he is telling me to send him the parts but how do I know I will ever get them back and why would I do that when the bulk is labor from having to take off the whole cab of the truck. I feel this dealership is being unfair and is not willing to help me but make the process as painful as possible, there is no guarantee I will get the parts back if I send them and could possibly be out even more money.Desired Settlement: I would either like them to pick the truck up and fully refund me or pay at the very least half of the repair bill.

To: Complaint Department

ID# [redacted]

We are responding to the customer complaint ID#[redacted]. The

first time I heard that Dave [redacted] said he had a problem with his truck he

sent us a bill/estimate for a repair.

Thanks,
