Scottsdale Condominium Management Reviews (4)

I have submitted a claim for damages that were caused by rain coming in from the roof The condominium management is responsible for the damages caused by the rain because the roof is leaking The condo association has come into my home and even wrote me a letter stating that they have seen the damaged ceilings and agree that it is the condo's association’s responsibility to pay for damages The amount is not correct in their statement I have talked to the insurance company and when I got my condo, the deductible was $ Now the insurance company said that the condo management company has raised it to $10, So the management company is responsible I have never heard of anyone moving the ladder I have called the police because one of the roofers was on my roof at 2:A.Min the morning I have sent a copy of the bill to the management company and have not gotten a response The last time I sent in a letter to let them know that the roof in the bedroom is leaking again in the same place as before, they came to my house at 7:A.Mwaking me up and asking if men and one woman that I do not know can come in to my bedroom, I stated no We went outside and showed the roofer exactly where the leak is and he proceeded to work on the living room (wrong room but was not finished from 2007) and now that is leaking as well The problem with the management company is that they think I have to use their people I do not, I will use anyone I want to work on the ceiling inside the house, and they have no rights as to who fixes my condo on the inside They only have to pay for the damages so that I can get it fixed

This response is provided by *** ***, Esq., attorney for Montelena Villas Homeowners Association, Inc(“Association”) Ms*** is an owner of a home in the Association She has filed her complaint against the Association’s management company, Scottsdale Condominium
Management (“SCM”) SCM is simply the managing agent for the Association, hired by its Board of Directors, and the Board has authorized this response on SCM’s behalf SCM denies any liability or responsibility for “damages” related to ceiling damage, or any alleged damage Moreover, the Association Board makes decisions and sets policies for the Association, not SCM. The statement of the claim is disjointed and without factual support Specifically, the ceiling in her unit was never seen by the Association Board Ms*** would not allow them to enter her unit The Association did have a contractor repair a sprinkler head in her unit SCM does not know what Ms*** means that money has been paid to the “condominium company”. The Association has tried to have her roof repaired in the past Once, she removed the ladder, stranding the roofer on the roof and called the police Recently, a roofer was sent out and she refused to let him in the unit to help determine the source of the leak. Neither the Association nor SCM is liable for water damages to the ceiling(s) At one time, a bid/estimate was received from Ms***, but the bid does not create an obligation And, it was received in and dated in 2007, and totaled only $1, If water damage to the unit were over $2,500.00, that is the Association’s insurance deductible A claim could have been submitted. Her statement about deductibles of $and $10,are incorrect Moreover, SCM does not determine deductibles with the insurance provider, the Association Board does. No payment will be forthcoming to Ms*** Please close this complaint Thank you
