We believe this was settled offline to ***'s satisfactionOur Manager did try and to the right thing by driving to the residence to return the umbrella(An umbrella can be a difficult item to ship) His mistake was that he did not call firstHe did leave the umbrella with a neighbor that said
the she would deliver it to ***We again apologize for the mistake and any inconvenience that this may have caused

Please add your rejection comments below. As previously stated in my previous response, this company is not standing behind what they sell, in this case car wash service and are dishonest and resort to outright lies trying to weasel their way out of liability.I had the vehicle inspected and was told that damage was most likely due to defective car wash equipment.Facts remain clear and simple; Car wash operated by Scrubadub company caused damage to my vehicle, allowing metal parts from low hanging equipment to come in touch with my vehicle due to misalignment of the said equipment. Creating deep gauges in 3 areas on the right side of the windshield. As previously stated it is absolutely laughable that company comes up with a story that insects instead of machinery damaged this windshield. I cannot wait to see comments as soon this story hits the car and driver web sites on internet.    Regards,

It's unfortunate that your immediate reaction is to assume we are dishonest. We are a third generation family business and have been so since 1966. We stand behind our quality and service when we make a mistake. In this case the facts are clear on our side. You assumption that a metal rod or fitting holding the cloth is hit your vehicle but no other is not possible. It is possible for a piece of equipment to malfunction but not just for one vehicle and not just on one part of the vehicle but not on the the remaining area of vehicle that the same piece of equipment travels over. We wash many pick up trucks including [redacted] and [redacted]'s without incident. There was no malfunction of the equipment to no damage to any other vehicle. Our earlier statement about something else other than the car wash marking your windshield was referring to either road debris (Something hitting your windshield coming up from the road or off another vehicle) or the process of what you used to clean the windshield before you came to the car wash. A dirty windshield as most drivers have had the past few weeks with the pollen can also hide issues until the windshield is clean.We respectfully disagree with your claim.

Statements made by manager of the car wash in regards to my vehicle being covered with dead insects is a lie and complete fabrication by company. Same manager tried to make the damage report void by intentionally filling in a wrong date, February 4th instead of June 4th. I had to turn to around and return to car wash and have him correct the report but he still tried to be dishonest and only correct my copy of the report instead of all copies until he was told by me. It is absurd and laughable that company would even make a statement that a small flying insect could damage a windshield of a new 2016 [redacted] truck. This is just a pathetic attempt to deny liability of the fact that their missaligned car wash damaged the windshield.  Forward moving wash curtain was not properly adjusted for the height of my vehicle and allowed part of the metal rod and/or fittings that support the wash curtain to scrape my windshield briefly before lifting up and over the top of the vehicle. Furthermore what ever my car insurance covers or does not cover is not the issue here. This a plain and simple liability case. Company is liable for all damages since their car wash damaged my vehicle.

The manager of the site reviewed this claim of damage on 6/4 with the customer. It was the managers opinion that the marks could not have occurred at ScrubaDub. He passed this information on to our Regional Manager who then had a conversion with Mr. [redacted] on 6/8. The claim was denied based on...

the following facts. - The site washed over 350 vehicles on that day with no damage to any other windshield or vehicle. - There was no complaints from the vehicle either before of after Mr. [redacted]'s vehicle. - There was no Damage to any other part of this vehicle other than the windshield. The only thing that touches the windshield is soft cloth from 2 mitting curtains.   These cloths travel over the hood, windshield, roof and back of each vehicle. It is not possible to mark just the windshield without also marking the hood & roof. - Mr. [redacted] admitted that his windshield was covered in bugs and debris from driving and that he had stopped and cleaned his winshield before arriving to the car wash. - It more that likely that the glass was damaged while he was cleaning it or is was damaged by debris from the road as he was traveling. Our Regional manager out of goodwill offered to split the cost of repair up to the estimated $350 cost of a windshield replacement. (up to $175 of his out of pocket cost) This seems more than a reasonable offer given that the facts make it unlikely that this occurred at the car wash. Car washes are easy to blame as a consumer can always claim that a mark was not there before but was then noticed after. We are a responsible company that has been in business for over 50 years. The facts here just do add up to something we caused. Our offer still stands. That said if the customers has comprehensive insurance the windshield can be replaced at no cost to him.
