Review: I initially hired this company in April of 2012 to redo my backyard. This included a sprinkler system, gas lines for a fire pit and a gas grill and landscaping with areas of decomposed granite.Because I found out that he had not pulled a permit for the gas line work, nor had he had the work done by licensed workers, nor had he had the work done up to code, he re-did the gas lines in November of 2012, Doing so required almost all of my back yard to be redone. In the process, several plants died. Plants have also died because when he created the sprinkler system, he did so in a way that not all plants were properly watered. He guaranteed his plants and work for a year. He wrote me a card saying he will not come back to my house to replace any plants. Due to the fact that he had to spend his money to re-do the gas lines the way they should have been done the first time, he feels he has spent too much money on my backyard. At this point, I have several dead and dying plants. In addition, the decomposed granite that he put it, and then re-put in is not holding up. It is totally cracked and disintegrating. I spent over $28,000.00 on this backyard and regret every dime of it and doing business with this unscrupulous companyDesired Settlement: I would like Sculptured Gardens to pay for professionals to put in the plants that work with the water system he created, and to have professionals re-do the decomposed granite using the proper application.

I am rejecting this response because: Mr. [redacted] agreed to a "fix" for my backyard with my gardener. I was never consulted. Mr. [redacted] spoke with my gardener without informing me. My gardener was referred to me by Mr. [redacted] and they have an on-going business relationship. Based on his conversation with my gardener, Mr. [redacted] offered to pay the gardener to replace some of the dead plants and to have the gardener see if he could repair the cracked and broken areas of the decomposed granite. (The gardener has NO experience with decomposed granite.) Unfortunately, the gardener neither owns my property nor did he contract or pay Sculptured Gardens Alive for the work. Besides the obvious conflict of interest...ie my gardener is going to make some extra money on the planting ....my gardener has no authority to accept or even to discuss a resolution to my issues with Sculptured Gardens Alive.. Mr.[redacted] has not visited my property himself. He has not given me the courtesy of allowing me to show him the problem areas. So, in essence I am rejecting a proposal that he made to my gardener. He has never proposed ANY resolution with me.
