Sea Dip Motel & Condominiums Reviews (3)

My girlfriend and I stayed here over spring break for three nightsEverything was going okay until it came time to check out While waiting in the lobby for the maintenance guys to "check our room for damages" the front desk lady got a call from them claiming that our rooms had burn marks on the floor This was a surprise to us both because we do not smoke so there must have been a mistake We were told to go to the room to see what the problem was and upon entering the room there were five burn marks on the carpet that were not there when we left However, the room smelled freshly of cigarettes that the maintenance men had smoked This hotel claimed we caused these burns but they SCAMMED us by burning their own carpet in order to collect $of our $security deposit They were beyond rude and yelled and threatened to call the cops if we did not get off their property when we tried to come to a resolution I even had video proof that two of the seven burn marks were already there when we checked in but they kept yelling at us and told us to take the money or to get out

For the price, our experience was pretty good. We only stayed in the room to sleep and to eat once and a while. Other than that we were on the beach. After having a good trip, we expected checkout to go smoothly and to receive our $200 cash security deposit back. While waiting in the lobby for an extended amount of time, maintenence came on the phone to the front-desk receptionist and then she relayed to us that there were burns in the carpet and it was our fault. We disagreed and went back to our room to check it out. Maintenance told us that routine checks are made on the rooms and that these burns were fresh and from us. We did not bring anything that could burn or cause burn marks on the carpet. We even have video evidence from the night we arrived with all of all stuff unpacked. You can pause the video on the carpet and see the marks in the carpet. The difference is that there were fresh marks in the carpet- ones that maintenance placed there. they told us the video date could have been taken while they were out of the room during this check-out process, but in the video all of our stuff was unpacked and obviously during check out our car was packed up. They still denied it. We offered them to go through our belongings to find something that would create the burns on the carpets. They denied that too. They denied us being able to look at the carpets in vacant rooms. after going back and forth in conversation, we all went down to the front desk where basically we felt "ganged-up" against. An elder lady raised her tone and treated us to leave and that the police would be called. They also stated that we were trespassing and that if we did not leave at that moment that we would not get any of the deposit back. We couldn't even have a civil conversation. You could tell they were getting money out of us. A good trip gone wrong. There are a lot of bad things that could be said about the hotel and the condition that is in, but we enjoyed it as much as possible without complaining until the end at checkout. Definitely terrible customer service. Such a disappointment.

This was a surprise to us both because we do not smoke so there must have been a mistake. However, the room smelled freshly of cigarettes that the maintenance men had smoked. This hotel claimed we caused these burns but they SCAMMED us by burning their own carpet in order to collect $100 of our $200 security deposit.
