Sea Girt Lodge

Review: On May 7th,2014 (8:20pm) I attempted to book a room for three nights at the Sea Girt Lodge through Expedia. I was able to confirm the availability of the rooms and selected the type (single room,two double beds). When I was transferred to Expedia's payment center and entered my credit card information, I discovered that the wrong night was booked. During payment processing, a room was booked for a single night...May 7th. I immediately, without delay, contacted Expedia. I was told that the payment was processed and that I had to speak with Sea Girt Lodge personnel. I obtained the phone number for the Lodge and called within moments of the booking. A male answered and after explaining the mistake, I was told that Sea Girt Lodge's policy is no refunds, no cancellations and no changes. I then phoned Expedia back and they reported they were unable to influence the night manager either. For the next 3 days, I called the Sea Girt Lodge and the employees would NOT allow me to speak to the manager, instead reiterating their policy. Even after I told them that it made no sense to book a room 8:30 at night and with their insolence, they stood to lose a 3 day booking. No matter. I could never reach the unnamed manager,nor would they relent on refunding the mistaken booking. Expedia was of no help either. They could not explain how the reservation went from May 12th through 15th to May 7th (one night). I have spoken to my credit card (Chase Bank) and was told when the charge is posted, I can file a dispute claim which they would look into. However. they could not commit on a decision on whether to rescind the payment. The crux of my complaint is that I was charged for a room that I did not stay in nor did I reserve. Expedia is pointing the finger at Sea Girt Lodge and the Sea Girt Lodge maintains they received a bonified reservation and their policy is "no cancellations,no changes and no refunds" no matter who the customer is.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is that the Sea Girt Lodge refund any and all charges that were made by them on my credit card. And I promise that I will never, ever patronize the Sea Girt Lodge, its website or any travel company brokering for the lodge!
