Seamless Services Reviews (1)

Review: Seamless Service installed a laminate flooring that was defective and installed It incorrectly as well. They refuse to acknowledge the problem or fix it. They blame me for the inferior product and will not even discuss fixing the problem/Desired Settlement: I would like them to remove the inferior flooring and replace it with the correct flooring and install the laminate correctly according to the specifications of the manufacturer.

Response:

Seamless Services was not paid for the installation of this flooring. There are two parties living at the residence, [redacted] and [redacted]. Seamless installed new laminate flooring which was seen and accepted by [redacted], who is home most of the time.

Over a month after the installation, [redacted] called and complained about not liking the flooring style (color and wood grain). She was told that [redacted] accepted the floor and demanded the floor be replaced.

Seamless elected to install the exact floor [redacted] wanted (although the original was a higher quality) to simply stop the harassing phone calls from [redacted]. [redacted] indicated [redacted] couldn't make flooring decisions (this is after the materials were purchased and installed, while [redacted] was in the home. [redacted] demanded a Pergo floor be installed and that it be purchased at [redacted]. There was zero complaint as to quality, defect, or joints between the material.

8 months after the Pergo flooring installation, [redacted] called indicating that the floor had chipped as they drug furniture across the floor and demanded it be repaired. [redacted] claimed that a Pergo floor was not installed as she demanded and that Seamless' Superintendent had lied and bought a different product. [redacted] threatened lawsuit and continued claiming the Superintendent had cheated her and bought an inferior product. Seamless provided the receipt for the flooring and item numbers, proving it was the floor she demanded.

The original installer (a sub contractor) looked at the floor and determined the installation was correct (Pergo flooring clips into place along manufactured tabs and cannot be manipulated for height variation). Seamless indicated to [redacted] that the floor was installed as designed (the clipping together of the interlocking pieces, tapped together for a snug fit). Seamless provided [redacted] the information needed (receipts and process) to contact Pergo for a defect review. The manufacturer sent a flooring specialist to evaluate the floor.

Before Seamless had seen any photos or the report from the inspector, [redacted] called into the office threatening and demanding replacement. [redacted] was told to send over the inspection report for our review.

There are gaps between the interlocking pieces larger than should be present. There are also height variation between the planks. The flooring inspector indicates the installation is not according to Pergo specifications and is incorrect. Seamless is in agreement with the inspection report, though not entirely with the manufacture's claims.

Seamless is willing to remove the existing laminate floor installed and haul away the debris at no charge. Seamless was paid for a floor of "like kind a quality" which was furnished, installed, and accepted by [redacted]. [redacted]'s demands were accommodated in large part due to the belligerent attitude she employed and to quiet the baseless accusations she threw toward the Superintendent. Seamless was not paid to remove nor replace the floor which satisfied the original contract. As such, we have met our financial obligation as well as the material obligation once already.

The subcontractor who installed the floor is willing to provide the labor for removal, providing [redacted] does not harass them, nor their laborers.

Seamless is willing to provide the material for the exact floor material. [redacted] and [redacted] can supply their own labor. This is already far beyond any contractual obligation, first due to illegitimate cosmetic complaints, and now due to a poor installation of an inferior product to the original installed.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

I have not harassed Seamless Services. I have asked them to fix the problem they created. They have been unwilling to help in any way. I cannot be responsible for knowing what is quality material. I rely on the contractor for that expertise. Pergo was not an upgrade because that is what was in the house to begin with. Not only was the floor damaged when it was installed it was installed improperly. Please see the inspection report. I have not threatened to sue Seamless Service but rather asked them to stand by the work they had done in my home. Their charge was to fix the damage done and make my house like new. That is not what they did. Not only were they unwilling to help but they treated me like I was a pest because I wanted them to be responsible for their work. I will be glad to have the floor replaced but will Not pay any extra money to have my home put back the way it should be.
