In August 2015, I purchased a whirlpool fridge and EXTENDED WARRANTY (protection plan) for 5 years from SEARS FURNITURE AND APPLIANCE store on ***, ***, Ontario ***.
My fridge broke and I tried calling all the different Sears headoffices and Protection plan numbers, but all numbers are not in service as Sears went out of business!
I reached out to Whirlpool and they advised me to contact your offices as you maybe able to direct me
to other companies that may honor my extended warranty/protection plan. Or if there are any legal actions I must take.
Greatly appreciate your assistance in this matter

We purchased a Maytag dishwasher as well as a service plan with an extended warranty for labour and parts from Sears Canada. They have not honoured this contract since their business discontinued. Our dishwasher is in need of repair and we think Sears should keep their part of the contract.

Purchased Washer and dryer from Sears Westmount, London Ontario Model Serial # *** and *** respectively Purchased Protection July 2015 for $254.22
Contact was Sears Canada inc ***.The protection ends July 2018. My washer broke down today Feb 17 2018 and I need to know what action I can take. The service number *** is no longer in service and no forwarding information was left. Please help asap.

Few days ago, I was surprised to find out that such a big store as Sears can steal money from customer due to incompetence and unprofessionalism of employees at Sears ***. Surprisingly, huge stores like Sears can take your money without giving you anything in exchange, which is stealing.
Little bit more than a year ago, I returned some item of value $35 to the store, and cashier for some reason was unable to return money and provided me with a store Gift Card, claiming it is the same.
I almost forgot about this Gift Card, but I was not worried about it, because as it was told to me, Gift Card is like a money and it does not matter when you going to use it in the store, Sears.
Few days ago, I tried to buy some stuff in Sears at St. *** (at Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada) with this Gift Card. I was very surprised that Sears's cashiers refused to use it, because as they claim, this Gift Card expired. I was very surprised. I paid the money to the store; I returned the item I bought to the store without getting anything in return. This is stealing.
The store cashier claimed that she cannot help me because Gift card is expired. I called the store manager, she was very *** and just told me that "I understand your problem. You are definitely right but I cannot do anything about it. You are welcome to call at number on the Sears Gift Card. That is it. I am not going to help you. Sorry about that." I was surprised how the Gift card can even have the expiration date and why it was not told to me from the beginning. She showed me a very small letters from behind of the gift card that the expiration date is in 12 month. I asked to speak with her manager and she gave me the phone number of someone named ***, telling that he is her manager.
Today I called that number. I was even more surprised hearing that Luke is not her manager but liquidator and that the woman who talked to me and said she was the store manager, not even store manager. She not just refused to help me but also *** about her position and her manager.
Eventually, I left with nothing. The money were paid to the store, item was returned, now the store has my money in value of $35 and the store is not willing to give me anything in return which is stealing. The Gift Cards usually do not have expiration date. When I've got the Gift Card, nobody told to me about expiration date, it was told to me that I can use it anytime as a money. I am surprised that the store as Sears is acting so unprofessionally.

The customer actually received a merchandise card and not a Gift Card. Merchandise cards do expire. Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done by Sears. The card had expired.

The card was provided to the client instead of the money after item was returned to the store. During return no one at the store told us that this card with money on it will expire.
Right now money was paid to the store, and nothing was given back for it.
Generally speaking, the store took the money without providing the product.
This is same as stealing money from the customers.

If we knew that this card have expiration date, we would use it before.
But this information was not provided when item was returned.

Currently the status is that:
Customer (We) have nothing. Store have in possession the money from the customer (us).
Please refund our credit card with the money you took without providing service or product. Otherwise it is illegal.

Have not fixed broken dishwasher as promised and paid for
Sears made an appointment to come fix my dishwasher on Dec. 8. They never showed up (I had taken the day off of work for them). They couldn't make another appt. because the worker didn't close the "ticket". When we were finally able to make another appointment, Sears cancelled it without reason. They made ANOTHER appointment. They gave us a window to show up (I took another day off of work for them). They didn't show up until 3 hours AFTER the time window had closed (I didn't need to miss work). The worker checked the dishwasher and determined that a control panel was bad. He had to order one and wait until it arrive at my house before making ANOTHER appointment. That next appointment mas made, but nobody showed up AGAIN (I had to take another day off of work). I made ANOTHER appointment for them to show up (December 22). They gave me a 4 hour window of time to show up (so, I took another day off of work). They repairman was 2 hours late from the end of that window.
After checking the dishwasher, he determined that the previous repairman mis-diagnosed the problem and he had ordered the wrong part.
Now, he says that the part that we need is no longer manufactured. However, he will need to come back on Jan.4 to make sure.
I am having a huge family Christmas party in 2 days and I MUST have a dishwasher. Sears has given me the run around, hung up on me, transferred me to numbers that are either closed or no longer exist. I have tried to speak to managers and supervisors and all of them have no idea why this has become such a problem, but none of them will authorize me to go buy a new dishwasher.

I want a new dishwasher since Sears has admitted that my current one (That is under my paid warranty) cannot be fixed.

I bought Portugese flannel sheets from Sears on Nov.4. The reg. price was $119.99 on sale for 25% off. When wrapping gift removed price tag & price underneath was $89.99 which was what I paid. Not knowing the value of this product thought it was a fair price at 25% off. I feel very much a victim of poor business practise.I have shopped at Sears since I was a child & will miss the store. But shame on them.

On September 13 I received a call from Sears asking if I wanted to renew my dishwasher service contract which was to expire October 7. I gave credit card information to renew for three years at $234.92. They told me to expect the contract by October 1. By November 1 I had not received it so I called and after much handing around at foreign service call centres was told that Sears had no intention of honouring the service agreement and they would refund my money. They would not have done so had I not called to find out what was going on. This was an *** to get money for Sears in the hope that customers would not notice before it went out of business and could no longer be liable for its debts.

As a result of the Court approved liquidation of Sears Canada's inventory and assets we regret that we are no longer in a position to honour Sears Protection Agreements. Refunds on protection agreements will be allowed to customers that have purchased them within the past 30 days per normal procedures. However, customers with Protection Agreements purchased more than 30 days ago will have the opportunity to file a claim in the future, once a claims process has been established and approved by the Court.

Once a claims process has been approved, the Court-appointed Monitor, FTI Consulting Canada Inc., will provide information regarding the claims process and claims forms on its website; http://cfcanada.fticonsulting.com/searscanada/. If and when the Court approves a Claims Process, there will be a post on the website to reflect this, and then you will be mailed a claims package to file a claim.

In light of the fact that Sears Canada is no longer honouring their warranties, in the Monitor's view, you are not obligated to make further payments to Sears for any warranties. However, the Monitor is unable to cease payments. You should speak with your bank or credit card company to cease payments

I went to SEARS location at *** for watch repair. I have "*** Mechanical watch" which has 11 years manufacture warranty. Everything was fine except the main time dial suddenly stop but whenever I reset the time then it works for few hours and stop again.
So, I took it for repair and representative at SEARS watch repair centre said they deal with *** and it may be a battery issue and it will cost me $30 plus tax to replace the battery and other test. I said, ok go ahead.
She didn't tell me that they are dealing with third party repair located at Richmond Hill not directly with manufacture.
So first they told me it will take me 1 week to get it done and they took roughly three weeks but when I received my watch, I paid but now after few weeks the same thing start happening again, it just stops working and I must reset every time. But when I took to Pickering mall and told them everything so now they are asking me to pay $45 more to get it fix because it is not a battery issue, it is related to some part inside which need to be replaced.
When I asked them why you are charging me more as services wasn't done properly. They said NO you must pay more.
So, I said please give my watch back and refund my money because the services which I paid for wasn't done. And I talked to the manager name "***" she was not willing to refund my money. I requested her to please forward my concern to your senior manager who can understand so I can talk to him/her.
So "***" who called me today Nov 2, 2017 and said the same thing that I will not get my money back because it is separate issue which is not right, and she was very *** to me when I asked her to provide me any other reasonable person contact or any email so I can take my complaint to them so she said you can do your research online or if you want to come in person and talk to anyone so by all mean you can do but everyone escalate your concern to me and I will not refund your money.

On October 23, 2015 I purchased a 3 year extended warranty for my Kenmore dishwasher through sears costing me $164.98 (purchased on my credit card). My warranty wasn't supposed to expire till December 12, 2018 and if I hadn't used my warranty, I would be granted my money back with a payback coupon to be used in sears stores. As of last week, Sears has ended their agreements for extended warranty and these payback coupons. To date, I have not used my warranty. I called my credit card company to open a dispute but since I purchased the warranty over a year ago they are not able to dispute it. Sears has broken their contracted agreement and therefore I want my money back. There has been rumours about them seeking out someone to uphold warranties but there is no guarantees. This also doesn't uphold the payback coupon agreement. Also, Kenmore is a sears brand. I no longer will have the ability to get parts or repairs of my dishwasher through sears. This will become a problem if something happens to my appliance or if I need a replacement part. I want a refund of the amount I paid.

We purchased extended warranties on our appliances through Sears Canada till 2021.
At the moment we are having problems with our fridge that supposed to be covered under Sears Warranty.

Purchased a *** washer and *** Refrigerator from Sears and also a five year warranty on both appliances at a cost of $186.99 (***) and $198.49 (***) respectively. Purchase/payment date was September 28, 2016 and delivery date October 25, 2016. We have had no problem with appliances and thus no claims or service calls. The Agreement provided "risk free, cancel for any reason and receive full refund". As Sears is closing we called the number referenced for warranty agreements and were told to cancel the policies and receive refund". The number given does not answer, other complaint numbers know nothing of the policies. We need assistance to resolve this matter. Either we have a warranty for the remaining four years or we receive a refund.

A month ago I've purchased a floor cabinet from Sears online. My expected delivery date was 22.09.2017. During the last month I've visited Sears at *** (where my item supposed to be shipped) 3 times but the item was not there. Last Friday I called Sears and they told me that they are going to investigate the case and call me back in 2 day. Nobody called. Today I called them again, talked to 3 representatives and none of them were able to help me. Two years ago I bought a ceramic top stove which was on sale for $1200.00 and also purchased an additional warranty for $250.00. This past July the two large burners on the stove stopped working. I called sears and they sent a repairman on August 15. I was told that it would cost $6oo.oo to repair the stove which was all covered by the warranty. Three parts were possibly needed to fix the stove (one part might fix it or a combination of two to three parts might be needed). Starting in mid September I phoned weekly to ask about the parts and was told that two arrived and they were waiting for the third. At the end of September I asked if they could try the two parts because this could have solved the problem. I SPOKE TO MANY SUPERVISORS WHO PROMISED TO PHONE ME BACK THE NEXT DAY BUT THEY NEVER did. The last supervisor, *** seemed to know what part I needed and promised that it would be fixed by last week. As of last Friday no one answers the phone.

washing machine purchased 10/10/13.
washing is not curentrly working. I called 2 weeks ago today to have it repaired. nobody has called me. I have made several called to several numbers. on hold all the time. never did talk to anybody for the service call. all they tell is that the service inquiry has been passed on and waiting for repair company to contact you is all they told me. I have heard nothing. now sears protection plans and warranties will be nil and void as of October 18th.
I contacted another repair place to fix it but they don't touch anything if under warranty or protection plan.

So we had a *** dishwasher bought at sears we also purchased a extended warranty good tilll 2020.our dishwasher broke so we called sears they sent a repairman out to fix it . He came by five times to fix it , he always came at dinner time saying that it was the only time he could when you have to make dinner for six people this is a terrible time during his five visits he failed to repair it the first two times he said it was fixed nope never ever worked no once . After they finallly agreed they said they would give us 600 dollars in store credit for a 1200 dishwasher with a 200 extended warranty. Ouch . Ok so we try to buy one on line half we're not in stock so we couldn't then we finally find one that's in stock call them again they said they don't have access to that wheelhouse then we find one in the store then they say it will be threee weeks to deliver.the dishwasher has not been fixed in five months.

To look into this further I asked them to provide a phone number and address so I could find details, and the receipt information if they have it. As of 9/26/17 I have not had a reply from the customer.

I purchased a lawn mower from Sears at the end of April. We might have used the mower a handful of times. I have called Sears only to be told we cannot return the product after 30 days. They gave me a service number to call. Service forwarded me to another number and when I called they advised they no longer look after Sears mowers. I called service back again and they wanted me to bring the mower to another place one hour from home and could not guarantee the service would be covered by Sears. Yesterday my husband tried the mower again the cord flew out. Every other store we have purchased items from have stood behind their product. I have received nothing but the runaround!! I have spent at least two hours arguing with everyone under the sun. The only reason we bought the mower at Sears was because our last one lasted for approx. 10 years. Obviously their products have gone downhill. ***. ***. ***.
