Cleaning was ok but the tech stole ftom my house

Sears cleaned wall-to-wall carpet. When they were finished, there was a large grey stain. I pointed it out and discussed it with the service man. He said they used expensive spot remover that didn’t work. I asked about Oxyclean which he said would not work.
I decided to try Oxyclean myself. It worked immediately and the spot is gone!
I do not recommend their service because of their lack of attention to a removable stain and their untruthful description of Oxyclean.

The $99 rate is just a promotion to attract unsuspecting homeowners to buy a much more expensive product. I requested the $99 duct cleaning process and the technician refused to perform the service without me agreeing to the $950 upcharge to clean the hvac unit itself. Complete scam.

The worst experience and customer service ever! I had sears pick up my living room area rug last summer and they lost it. For weeks-lost. They eventually “found it” and then it was a headache getting it back from them, not being delivered when they said it would, etc. The whole ordeal took almost 2 months. I ended up buying another rug so when I got it back, it was wrapped up so I put it in my attic. I pulled it out a month ago and opened it up and it was never cleaned. It wasn’t ever cleaned!!! It smells terrible and still has cat hair all over it. I’ve been trying to get a hold of a manager for weeks now and no one will take my call or pick up. They keep telling me that since it’s been a year, since I paid for the service, that they won’t do anything. I also had my soda steam cleaned and they did a sub-par job.

I HAD MY AIR DUCTS CLEANED BY SEARS ON 6/5/18. PRIOR TO THIS, I CONTACTED 4 COMPANIES TO QUOTE AIR DUCT CLEANING SERVICES. SEARS HAD A FLYER COME IN THE MAIL, I CALLED AND THEY GAVE ME LOWEST PRICE. I WANTED TO BE SURE THAT WHAT WAS QUOTED WAS ACCURATE AND ASKED FOR IT IN WRITING, AS THE OTHER 3 COMPANIES DID. THEY SAID THAT IS AGAINST COMPANY POLICY. I WAS TRYING TO AVOID ANY SURPRISES AND BE SURE I WAS COMPARING "APPLES TO APPLES". THE OFFICE GIRL I SPOKE WITH ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS NEVER MENTIONED ANY OTHER OFFERS OR PACKAGES WHICH MAY INCLUDE AIR HANDLERS. THE FLYER I RECEIVED IN THE MAIL SAYS "FURNITURE (YES, FURNITURE) AND COILS ADDITIONAL". I HAD NO IDEA THAT "FURNITURE AND COILS" MEANT AIR HANDLERS. MY OTHER 3 QUOTES INCLUDED AIR HANDLERS. THAT IS WHY I WANTED THE PROPOSAL IN WRITING. THEY CAME OUT AND CHARGED ME $877 INSTEAD OF THE $330 OR SO I ANTICIPATED. $500 MORE, AND MORE THAN THE OTHER QUOTES I RECEIVED. THE SERVICE TECHNICIANS SAID THAT I SHOULD HAVE BEEN OFFERED A PACKAGE DEAL TO INCLUDE AIR HANDLERS. THAT NEVER HAPPENED. I SPOKE TO OFFICE STAFF ASKING TO SPEAK TO MANAGER. SHE WAS VERY CONTENTIOUS. I E-MAILED THE MANAGER SEVERAL TIMES ON 6/7, 6/14 AND 6/16. HE TOLD ME HE WOULD CALL ME AND NEVER HAS. I SENT HIM PICTURES OF THE FLYER I RECEIVED THAT SHOW THE PRICING AND OBVIOUS TYPO.

I Hired Sears Carpet on Friday Feb 9th to clean my carpets. My technician was Daniel D. I have to say this was the best carpet cleaning I have ever had. I have 2 kids and a dog that likes to use my carpet as her bathroom. I was expecting the worst and that my carpet was ruined forever. Daniel arrived after a text message with his picture--which was such a cool idea------he did recommend some type of pet enzyme which did cost additional-BUT was well worth it. After he left my carpet and house didn't smell like pee anymore!!!! TBH this far exceeded my expectation on how my carpet would look. Thank you Sears and Daniel for such an amazing experience.

This turned out to be just another Classic "switch and bait"

I called Sears as I have always shopped in their stores for over 50 years- I assumed that the Sears carpet cleaning service to be legit and would be done professionally.

Advertisement and price stated "$119.00 for 5 rooms--Which also included these statements:

"Pre-treated and Pre-spot included"!

"ULTRA CARE 2 STEP DEEP CLEANING" "NO Hidden charges"

This price quickly went to $168 for adding 10 small - 3' box steps. ( I have a tri-level )

I was told over the phone that the Techs-plural -would move furniture-you know a couch or 2-the beds are on wheels-real hard stuff....

1 Tech arrived and first thing out of his mouth was how dirty and trashed the carpet was...

( I know the carpet is dirty-kids, grandkids, spills, etc.-this is why I called them )

I asked where his help was and he replied " I work alone".

I asked the tech about who was going to help move the furniture and he danced around the subject about he can't move this and that and anything over 50 pounds, etc.

I am a Disabled American Veteran, and from wounds and recent surgeries I cannot lift and move stuff around like I used to be able to do, but I tried my best to make it "easy" for this healthy 6' 250 pound large man.

Then I was told he would have to "mix a cocktail" and pretreat, and add a deodorizer but it would be an additional $120.00 so now it is going to cost me $308.00. Trusting that this was truly needed I reluctantly said ok.

Now, without doing anything towards actually cleaning the carpets-The tech whips out the Ipad and wants payment before he has even started the work.

Unreal.

I guess if the payment is "had" then the complaints can fall on deaf ears as they now have their money in hand, and I am sure next to impossible to receive a refund.

Reluctantly, I paid for this "service" before the work was even started.

10 minutes later, after spraying the steps, the tech approached me again about "how I needed to do this right" and pay another $200.00 for pet stains-(as this is "normally" 4-500 dollars alone per the tech) but he would do it for me for just another $200.00

I said no.

The tech "pretreated" the steps and the upstairs bedrooms and when I asked about the family and living rooms areas-as it didn't look pretreated to me, his reply was "yes, I went over the areas 3 times!"

3 times...incredible!!!!

Must have super speed to accomplish all this in under 2 minutes mind you, as I never saw any of the lower areas "pretreated"

The tech didn't even bother to turn the heat on in the truck mounted machine so steam could clean the carpet- I have a picture of the machine mounted in the truck and how the settings were. Just cold water-mind you- hooked up to MY water supply.

Total time the Tech was here-1 hour...

I'm not sure about most people, but in my mind this is classic bait and switch and a once fine company now has lost forever another customer-I guess it's time to call Stanley Steamer-at least they will use steam..I hope

We had not seen this in Revdex.com but had taken care of it with customer. We have given a partial refund to customer and also told the customer the we would send out a senior technician to reclean at any time for him. Not sure exactly what had happened there but we did fix the problem with the tech and the customer. Mr. still has a free cleaning by a senior tech available. He has one year from the date of service to take advantage of the complimentary service. We greatly apologize for Mr. experience and want him to be happy.
