Review: The store has relocated in the mall. It is at, 215 Monroeville Mall, 15235. The phone number is: ###-###-####. The owner, [redacted] demanded I pay for a six inch plain glass with a two inch Penn State symbol, when it fell off the edge of the shelf and broke. I was reaching for a plastic cup that was next to it. It was labeled $7.00, which he said was the wrong label and the glass was actually $12.00. He said, "that it is his policy in the store and he charged me $6.00 plus tax, which he said was what he paid for it, not including shipping". There was no proof of the cost nor did he show me the sign that says you pay for broken items. My finger was bleeding, for ten minutes, while I shopped. I bought $26.00, of items, because I felt bad. I left blood on the receipt and he didn't even have a bandage, when I asked for one. I thought the bad customer service was from an employee, so I called the store to get the name of the owner. I was shocked to hear that the person I dealt with was the owner. I informed him that is a terrible business practice and he has a poor layout of his store, since he puts glasses, where they can be broken. He said, "he could not get credit for the broken glass and had to charge me for it, as he could not take a loss". Also, he did not plan on giving me the broken glass. I had to ask for the glass. He insisted, "there was nothing he can do and that he could not take a loss for every customer that breaks something". HOWEVER, I also did not know that you can only get store credit, as there are "no cash refunds", UNTIL I SAW THIS ON THE RECEIPT and I told him that I am going to return the items I purchased. I would not have purchased anything there, if I knew this. "No refunds" was NOT posted clearly anywhere in the store. He said he has been in business 15 years. Every business has losses and the IRS even accounts for accidents/losses. A decent company would not have charged for a glass that was accidently broken and it would allow cash or credit card refunds.Desired Settlement: I want my six dollars plus tax refunded, to my American Express. I will be happy to bring back the broken glass, so he can get credit for it, on his taxes or with the merchandiser.Seasons, in the Monroeville Mall, is probably the only company that the IRS can audit that, "never takes a loss", since this is what Mr. [redacted],the owner states.
