SMCU will remove the day late that was reported in the month of December for Equifax and Trans Union; Experian was not reporting a day late for the month of December. The day late that was reported in the month of November is accurate and will not be removed. As a reminder, the day late that is reporting for the month of November is a result of the 10-25-payment being over days late. The month reported as a day late with the credit reporting agencies happens a month after the actual loan due date that was missed. For example, if October’s payment is missed and goes over days, it will reflect as a day late for the month of November on credit reports

This complaint has been escalated to management for resolution and the member has been contacted. SMCU has taken appropriate action to resolve the monthly payment as requested on the loan while actively working with the member toward obtaining the necessary titlework documentation in order to
complete the title transfer. The member is working closely with SMCU’s Manager of Consumer Lending toward resolution

I am rejecting this response because: November was NOT 30 days late. SMCU already admitted that.  November needs to be removed from all 3 credit bureaus. Along with removing December.

SMCU completed a thorough investigation of both the auto loan and credit card loan.  In reviewing the past 12 months, the auto loan was reported late in October and November 2016 and the credit card was reported late in November 2016. The 9/25/16 loan payment was received 11/7/16, and...

subsequently, the 10/25/16 loan payment was received 12/5/16.  The credit card payment, due on 10/23/16, was received 12/12/16.  For both the loan and the VISA, contact was made with Ms. [redacted] prior to payments being 30 days past due.  Regarding the auto loan skip-a-pay request, members must agree to the disclosure that outlines the parameters of the skip-a-pay program.  The disclosure states, “Anytime Skip-A-Pay program applies to all SMCU loans except mortgages, home equity loans, VISA® accounts, or new loans open for less than 6 months.”  The auto loan in question had been open for three months.  The skip-a-pay request was denied and a denial notice for the request was mailed 9/20/16, one day after the request was made.

SMCU is in ongoing communication with our member and is working together with him regarding the required paperwork for resolution.  Resolution is based on the completion of that required paperwork to and from a number of sources.  As a result, no timeline can be established.  We do estimate completion within 60 days.

I am rejecting this response because: they have 2 over 30 day late pays reported for auto loan one November and one December. November was not over 30 days late and December was paid 2 days before due date.  And when I signed my loan papers not once did the employee state that you had to be with them 6 months.  They just expounded on how great the skip a pay was.  They need to remove Nov and Dec auto late pays from credit report. As they are incorrect

This complaint has been escalated to management for resolution and attempts to reach the member have been made.  SMCU has taken appropriate action to expedite the processing of GAP Insurance and will continue to work with the member until this is resolved.
