mainly to women for high school and college formal events The rental process involves an appointment whereby the girl selects a dress and then reserves it for her event by signing a contract and paying a $deposit The dress may be reserved months in advance Once it has been reserved, that dress is taken out of inventory for that date The contract specifically states that if a dress is cancelled within days of the event, the full rental amount is due This is to protect us from girls changing their mind at the last minute, making it n*** impossible for us to rent that particular dressThe contract for the dress that Mrs***’ daughter rented is enclosed Mrs*** rented a dress from us on January 24, On Monday, May 2, Mrs*** called to tell us that her daughter was sick and might not be going to prom, which was to be held on May She was told that she would still have to pay the $rental fee per the contract She informed us that she didn’t want to pay and left us under the impression that she was not going to be using the dress because it wasn’t a popular rental, which meant to us that her daughter had changed her mind about wearing that particular dress We did not hear from Mrs*** again and assumed that she would not be picking it up since she had called saying that she wished to cancel. The dress in question was personally handwashed by *** ***, one of the owners It was not steamed because we didn’t believe it was going to be picked up for the prom Mrs*** came to the shop on Wednesday, May to pick up the dress, which surprised us since she had said she was cancelling the dress *** steamed it right then It was in perfectly good condition to be worn to the prom Mrs*** sent a text on Friday, May complaining that the dress smelled like perfume and wasn’t cleaned She was told that it was cleaned by *** *** and that she would not be getting her money back Mrs*** is the first customer since Second Date Dresses has been in business to complain tbat a dress wasn’t cleaned We stand by our products and can aver to the fact that the dress in question was in fact, clean.Mrs*** daughter did not wear the dress that she rented from us to her promWhen the dress was returned to us, the person who brought it back informed us that Mrs*** daughter had simply changed her mind and wanted to wear a different dress to her prom This confirmed our suspicion that both the “sickness” and “unclean” remarks were just attempts to get out of paying for the dress per the signed contract We feel that Mrs*** complaint is baseless, and that she is trying to get out of paying for a dress that her daughter decided that she no longer wanted to wear.Sincerely,*** *** and *** ***, ownersSecond Date Dresses, LLC (Original copy attached)
