Review: Second Chance Appliance will not refund, they have my items and they will not allow me to sell the items out of their store and I do not have anywhere for items top be delivered. Their solution was to refund 80% of the purchase price and they would keep 20% for holding the items for a couple of days. Appears like money laundering.Desired Settlement: Since I have not received the items and it is in their possession, I would just like a refund for items I have not received.

Response to complaint: Mr. [redacted] had purchased a washer dryer and refrigerator from us on 1/18/14 for a total amount of $1,225.23. He was scheduled to have the appliances delivered 3 weeks from the purchase date as that was when his house was to be finished through escrow. We advised Mr. [redacted] that we do not offer refunds and that he was better off leaving a deposit on the appliances. He said no he would like to pay the full amount. Our receipt clearly states that we do not offer cash refunds and that all sales are final which he agreed to and signed. Then on 1/24/14 Mr. [redacted] called us stating that the house had fallen through and that he would like a full cash refund. We denied his request and enforced our return policy. We did though however offer him a cash refund with a 20% restocking fee or a return of the products for store credit. He was upset and said he would have to sell them on craigslist with the appliances still at our store claiming he would meet people here and sell them. We told him that we would not allow that. He then went on to post A ad on craigslist with our business address a picture of his receipt with the intention of selling them out of our store on craigslist. He also sent our business’s Facebook account a message with the intention of blackmailing us to offer him a full cash refund or that he would write on our page his unpleasant experience with our business. We did not respond to his Facebook message he then went on to slander our name on Facebook and specifically made a yelp account to slander our name on there also. He still has not wanted to resolve the issue with his purchased appliances still at our store. We have sent him a 10 day notice stating that if a resolution over a restocking refund, a store credit return, or pickup of the appliances isn’t agreed upon that the appliances will be restocked onto our shelves to be sold and that a store credit will be automatically issued to him good for 1 year. We are a used appliance and a small business which as you know can be hard our return policy is designed to protect us from people wasting our time and money so that we may survive. We cannot do what a Home Depot or Sears can do. I have clearly read the State of California legal return policies and clearly states that no used business has to offer a cash refund. Please let me know if you need any more information on the case or have any of there questions.
