Review: I switched to another insurance carrier in October 2013. My new agent called and confirmed this. Next, I started receiving letters regarding a bill for November 2013 when they knew I had another insurance. It is now January 2014 and they are threatening to send me to collections for a bill I don't owe. I have filled out cancellation requests and mailed in pertinent info such as my current insurance carrier and effective date yet, they continue to send me a bill.Desired Settlement: I would like them to acknowledge my new insurance and eliminate this bill immediately.

This is in response to your letter dated 1/15114 which we received on 1117/14, regarding the above-referenced matter.

The Complainant is [redacted] who is a former SECURA insured. [redacted] is unhappy that she received a collectlon letter from SECURA requesting $134.83. Further, Complainant is unhappy that SECURA threatened to place her account with a collection agency if she did not pay, particularly since she switched insurance carriers effective 10/11/13. [redacted] would lilee SECURA to acknowledge she svvitched insurance companies and as a result no money is due and owing and to stop pursuing collection efforts against her. SECURA insmed .[redacted] under a personal package policy, specifically policy PB [redacted], which is a combination auto and home policy. The term of the applicable policy was 9/14/13 to 9/14114. The inception or origination date of her policy was 9/14/11. In reviewing the matter. it appears the complaint stems from a letter SECURA sent [redacted] dated 11/19/13 advising her policy terminated due to failure to pay and there is an outstanding balance due and owing SECURA in the amount of$134.83. The letter further advised if [redacted] had placed coverage with another carrier, she needed to submit a signed Cancellation Request indicating the date she obtained the other coverage. On or about 12117/13, SECURA received a copy of a Cancellation Request signed by [redacted] advising she obtained coverage with [redacted] effective 10/11/13. Attached marked ''Exhibit A" is a copy of an email sent to the agent by SECURA on 12/17/13, a copy of the 11/19/13 letter sent to [redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. However, please note the exhibit provided was my second attempt to stop the letters from coming from this insurance company. Previously, I submitted the date of my coverage, signed my name, and returned by mail,they were also contacted in October by my current insurance agent. I should not have to provide my policy no. that is confidential information and also the reason I changed insurance companies. My private information was shared with a third party without my consent.
