September 4, 2019 at 11:40am I watched as an *** male with a dark shirt and a cap walked to the back of my car to write down my tag number and place a boot on my car. He then got into a white truck and tried to drive away quickly. I had to run behind him to get him to stop, which he did not do immediately.The time was 11:40am which is the same time dated on the ticket he placed on my window and the ticket he gave me. He claimed there was nothing he could do. He said I would have to pay $70 to have the boot removed off my car even though I was there as he did it. I did research and found out that the maximum amount they can charge for a boot is $50. He did not give me my receipts. I had to asked for them as he tried to leave again once he got my money. He never identified himself or the company he worked for. When I asked for the company's name and told him I was going to file a complaint, he replied that he was the owner and nothing was gone charge. I still proceeded to call the number on the receipt at 12:11pm, but Orlando (the man who answered the phone) was not any help. He pretended that he was going to look into the incidents, but he did not ad called back within an hour. I have the receipts that prove I was there. The two receipts for the $70 I was charged are time stamped for 11:42am and 11:43:27am which proves I was right there when the incident transpired.
Refund A full refund of my $70.
After I following up on this claim, I found that *** is mistaken in the details of the occurrence. It is very difficult for us to give a full account of what happened after time has passed and are unable to view the tickets in question. She walked up after the technician had placed the immobilization device on her vehicle, recorded the vehicle information and started to drive off. Our technician are courteous and he advised her the vehicle was immobilized due to an expired ticket that did not match her license plate number. Secondly, she did not pay $70 dollars for the boot. She paid $50 dollars for the boot to our company and paid the lot machine a $20 lot fee. As for identifying our Company it was on the technician's shirt, the orange sticker she is referring to and on the receipt she received for the boot. Each of these items have identification with numbers. Further the technician gave her our number. As a footnote to her not knowing who we were, she had to use the sticker with our name and phone number on it to contact us to remove the device and she called me (Orlando) to complain. In rebuttal to the fact that I pretended to look into the matter is absurd. As a matter of fact, I did look into the matter and did not find anything wrong with the process and called her back to let her know why I wouldn't reverse the decision. This patron did not fulfill her obligation to the parking company when she over stayed her time.
It is not unheard of patrons getting upset about being immobilized but we attempt to make the experience as painless as possible because we know they are upset due to being caught either not paying, staying too long or taking tickets from other people, rather than paying for the use of a parking spot. We have a great track record of reducing or cancelling the boot fee if we think the patron was right and will continue to do the right thing at all times. I apologize you had to get involved in this process and hopefully we can go further without a complaint but know we are doing the right thing. Integrity and character are more than just words to us.
