RevDex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID
***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
The Security Credit System is not an honest businessI attempted to resolve
the matter with themI called them many times and wrote to them but they
ignored my complainsRepresentatives from that company lied to me and
attempted to extort money from me after I paid them the full amount that was
due and in the process caused great harm and stress to me and my family
Security Credit System refused to give me the letter of paid in full on the
date they promised to do so after I paid them the full amount that was due
They knew I was buying a house and needed the letter by that time and that day
that they promised to give me the letter if I made the paymentThere were consequences for their actionsMy
loan application for a mortgage was rejected by two mortgage companies because
of what they did.
I am willing to resolve the matter with Security Credit System only after they
have removed all the reports they have placed on my credit

Our compliance department has reviewed this file and audited all phone calls and we find no instance where
the collector or anyone at Security Credit Systems has ever talked to Ms***s Manager or anyone in human
resources. We have disclosed no information to any third party. Ms
*** has been payng on her account
since and just recently stopped making payments on her account
All calls that we audited show no instances where our collector has belittled her or treated her poorly and all
calls were professional
We will no longer call Ms*** at her place of employment

we are allowed to contact third party for location information and we do skip trace for locator information only and no information is given to a third party. when we did reach *** *** we were no sure we had the correct person as she has a very common name so our collector attempted to
ask her a few questions so we could verify we indeed had the proper person so we could discuss this debt. when she refused to verify who she was and became angry our collector quickly told her he was going to disconnect the call because she was uncooperative. no violations occurred we cannot discuss any debts unless we are sure we are contacting the correct individual this is done to protect her rights we will not call her and/or mail her again MrsR***

Our collector did call a relative phone number and talked to someone who sounded
like a male but could have been a lady with a deep voice. The collector repeatedly told
the person they could not reveal information just wanted to leave a message and
the person indicated they knew about this account. They called this number for location
information because we repeatedly tried to reach Ms*** with no results

Tell us why here...  WE WILL NO LONGER CONTACT MR [redacted] WE WERE SKIP TRACING
TO REACH [redacted].  MR. [redacted] PHONE NUMBER HAS BEEN DELETED FROM OUR DATA BASE

Ms [redacted] taked with our collection agent Mr. A[redacted] who provided Ms [redacted] with the balance due on this account that was listed on the account screen of 1775.50 to pay in full.  Once the payment was received and the account went to the payment office the account was updated to show past due...

interest that needed to be added to the account.  This was a loan and an interest bearing account and very often with interest bearing accounts for tuition loans their is usually interest updates that get updated occasionally.  Since this was a pay off for this debt the final updated interest was added and an additional amount of 21.25 was added to the account.  When the original account was incurred Ms. [redacted] would have signed a promissory note or agreement which would have explained to her that this is anj interest bearing account.
Due to this change being added the account did not show up paid in full and the paid in full letter did not go to Ms. [redacted].  We did eventually waive the interest to resolve the issue when Ms. [redacted] became upset with the charge and then we faxed the paid in full letter to Ms. [redacted] the next day 10/28/15.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused it was not intentional and we were not adding money to extort money from her  These were valid interest charges due against her loan.l

Compliance Officer

if Ms. [redacted] wants to believe we extorted money from her it seems I cannot change her mind.
We do not extort money from people we have been in business for over 30 years and we follow all rules and regulations required by law and the federal FDCPA guidelines.  This is not to say errors do not happen.  In this case we did not charge Ms. [redacted] any additional money and closed her account as paid in full for the amount owed to our client [redacted] University [redacted]so how is this extortion.
We did notify the credit bureau this account was paid in full and this will appear on her credit file as a paid in full collection account which is how it should appear.   If Ms. [redacted] wants us to delete this account as if it was never in collections that is an incorrect entry and a false entry and we will not do that
I am sorry she is unhappy but we cannot do anymore than what we have already done,
Mrs. R[redacted]
Compliance Officer

we sent Mr. [redacted] an itemized bill and a signed agreement
we also explained in our letter that [redacted] has no records to show that the miliary was involved in paying this account and they also have no tuition assistance paperwork that would have to be filed with the military to receive any payment for tuition.  If a student has military assistance it is their responsibility to fill out the proper paperwork to the military to make sure the military is billed properly and follow up that their bill gets paid.  Once this is done the school would probably have received notification from the military to confirm enrollment and tuition amount due and the school never received any notification for this student.
If the student has any further questions he should be calling the school for further clarification

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Our client [redacted] has no records to show that the Military was involved in paying this account and they
also have no tuition assistance paperwork that would have to be filed with the  military to receive any payment
for any tuition. Mr [redacted] was advised previously that...

if he had military assistance that he would have to
submit the proper forms and/or paperwork so the school could bill the military and this was  never done.
I am in the process of requesting an itemized bill and any and all paperwork on this account and as soon as
I receive this information I will forward all paperwork to Mr. [redacted].

MR [redacted] SENT US A CERTIFIED LETTER BECAUSE HE HAD ISSUES TO RESOLVE ON HIS ACCOUNT AND
WE SENT HIM AN ITEMIZED BILL AND WERE CALLING HIM TO FOLLOW UP WITH HIM REGARDING HIS
ISSUE ON HIS DEBT THAT HE WAS INTERESTED IN RESOLVING.  WE WERE NOT RUDE WE ONLY LEFT MESSAGES
FOR HIM TO CALL US BACK...

TO RESOLVE THIS DEBT  WE WILL NO  LONGER CALL HIM AT HOME OR AT HIS
PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT

Tell us why here...
This debtor seems to be confused as to what this account is about
We at no time third party disclosed any information in fact a person called abouit this account
    claiming to be the debtors...

mother and she wanted information about this account and we told
her we could not disclose any information or talk to her without written permission from the
debtor.  This is not a loan in deferment and cannot be deferred.  We sent the consumer an
itemized bill on 3/31/16 detailing the account balance of $14,604.64.  This account has
nothing to do with her federal student loan.  This is an institutional account balance.
When the consumer gets the bill that was send she can review the bill and call us and/or
the college to discuss the account.

WE HAVE REVIEWED THE CONSUMER COMPLAINT AND FIND NO INSTANCE OF UNETHICAL
PRACTICES.  IN WORKING WITH CONSUMERS ON ANY COLLECTION ACCOUNT DIFFERENT
OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE AT DIFFERENT TIMES EXPECIALLY AS THE ACCOUNTS...

AGE
SO DIFFERENT OPTIONS ARE SOMETIMES OFFERED AS THE ACCOUNT AGES
HOWEVER, WE HAVE CLOSED THIS ACCOUNT IN OUR OFFICE AND RETURNED THIS ACCOUNT
TO THE ORIGNAL CREDITOR AND WE WILL NO LONGER BE CONTACTING MR [redacted].

I received some paperwork from this company, however, all they sent was a piece of paper that had my signature that stated I signed up for a class.  I am aware I signed up for a class and I am not arguing that point.  My argument is that the US Government paid for that class via tuition assistance.  Furthermore, the proof of that is in the paperwork itself.  It states, and I quote, "all fees are due at the time of registration".  With that being said, how could I have taken a class for an entire semester if it had not been paid for?  I couldn't have.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
There is no mistake, a third party was contacted by this company. The collectors called my mother on several occasions, threatening. I have proof of this contact through her phone records. I myself was only contacted by these individuals on two occasions, once when they had called me, and once when I returned their call. I at no time pretended to be my own mother.
Regards,
[redacted]

We have no collection account for [redacted] the collection account we have is for her son [redacted] and if [redacted] has a complaint this complaint should be in his name.  SCS in attempting to locate individuals does skip trace to locate a person but we do not discuss any information...

about the debt with a third party and skip tracing is used for location information only.  Someone went onto our web site (either [redacted] or [redacted] and did a web site payment which was declined.  We use a service which processes the payment thru what is called ACH and the bank and we are not the ones who declined this payment.  If the consumer has an issue the consumer needs to contact their bank.  We will no longer contact [redacted] and/or any family members regarding this account.
As [redacted] is the consumer on this account and if he does not want us to contact him regarding his debt he should be sending us a letter requesting we not contact him about this debt.
Because of this complaint we will not contact [redacted] again however, we have no contact from [redacted] either verbally or in writing that he has any issues with this account and since it is his debt he needs to let us know what his wishes are in regards to this debt
