Review: We purchased security coverage and systems from Security Dynamics in March of 2012. We sold the property in August of 2015 and contacted John to let him know we were canceling service. He indicated he needed to get in touch with the central station to find out the amount due. I did not hear from him for over a week, and in that time we sold the property and moved. I followed up again and heard from his office manager who informed us another option was to have a new system installed in our new property (for a charge). I replied letting her know we would like to have John out to give us pricing. Again, I did not hear from anyone for 12 days until I sent another email to inform them that I had received a bill for a property I no longer owned and would not be paying. The very next day I received a call that he would be over to show us equipment in a half hour. By this point we had already determined we would not be spending any additional money with this company. When he came, we informed him of this and my father (who was here at the time) also informed him he ADVISED us to not pay the bill and that he would be in contact with his lawyer friend. My husband and I are the owners of the account, so no matter what my father said, we made the ultimate decision. The next day I received an email from John stating he would be turning us over to collections and that they are no longer looking to help us remedy our situation. The issue at hand is that we were not late with our payment, in fact we had still had a week before payment was due. We did ultimately send that payment and the check was cashed. The same day the check was cashed, we received another threatening letter from Security Dynamics that was dated the same day informing us that our contact was terminated per our request - we NEVER requested this. They have given us 30 days to pay the remainder in full, which I am doing tonight, and have again threatened us with collections, among other threats.Desired Settlement: I just want it to be known how this company handles business. The threatening and bullying tactics are deplorable. I also want others to be aware so they don't fall into the same trap my husband and I did when we felt unsafe because someone was trying to break into our house. These people prey on individuals and then make it impossible to break the contract, even with the sale of a property. We unknowingly signed a five year contract, which we understand is our fault. However, the way the end of the contract was handled was completely unprofessional and it should be known by the public that this company operates in such a manner before people make the same mistake we did. It's bad enough they force you into 5 year contract automatically renewable, but there is also no provision to get out of the contract if you move. I'm extremely dissatisfied with this company.
