At the end of March 2015, we contracted Security Home Inspections to perform a private home inspection at a property in Lafayette, INThe inspector assigned was *** *His review of the property and follow up report was thorough, detailed and completeWe were very pleased with the level of service rendered by *** *
Unfortunately, *** was not able to locate the septic tank on the premisesAfter contacting Home Security, Incand discussing the matter, a $credit was issued, to our satisfaction
An additional unfortunate event also was noted whereby the company (Security Inspection, Inc.) provided the seller with a copy of the inspection report although I requested it not be furnishedThis was a clerical error and nothing further can be offered, other than a sincere apology
Apparently the software that Security Home Inspections uses sets up default email communications to all parties and the feature is only toggled on and off through manual controlsIt is my strong suggestion that management look into this for the immediate futureThe only party(s) that should receive a copy of the inspection report(s) should be the paying customerAnd the paying customer should have the sole discretion of providing the report to other parties
We performed an inspection for this client in '09. At the time that we did the inspection for her she did not order a septic inspection.
0pt 1.2in">Also, at the time of the inspection she signed our pre-inspection agreement which provided for a limited remedy against Security Home Inspections in the event of an inaccuracy in the report and required that we be notified of any such inaccuracy within 90 days.
I am happy to provide any documentation you need for verification of the above mentioned information.
We recommended to the customer through her attorney that they should look to the individual who sold her the resident and failed to disclose that the septic system had issues.

I would not recommend this company, Dan Cronin was our inspector.
Most of the inspection went well, except that the inspector put his computer on top of the washing machine that was sitting on water damage (he just had to look at the wall behind the washer... but didn't bother.) We would have asked for more work be done on the house, or a lower cost, had we gotten the info we needed (that there were 2 floors that needed replaced completely because of black mold and water damage) that was evident, but missed by the inspector.
The woman who answers the phone was very helpful, but NO ONE ever responded to any of my requests for a re-inspection, or any admittance to their being in the wrong. So, be sure you also look where they go, don't just take their word for it... walk along with them, and watch. I didn't get the impression he wanted us following him, but I think if we had, we could have been given a more accurate and thorough inspection.
