Completely unprofessional, non-secure, and horrible customer serviceWe applied $to an account and it ended up going to a criminal associated with the inmate

I have spent hundreds of dollars paying their high fees to speak to my loved one and after multiple cutoff calls I finally called to complainI was told to send in a form they would review our call and make refundI did all of that and a month later contacted their awful customer service who told me they had no record and I would have to do it againI'm college educated and fully capable of following instructions to complete a form to comply with a companies policy for refundThey are simply scamming whatever they can from people in a very vulnerable position

I set up an account with this company on October 13th, I used the absolute last $that I had to speak with my loved one$came out of that for fees THEN an additional on October 16th $came out for a monthly (I was told for the month of October) fee because I am using a wireless phoneNeedless to say the money I used for calls the majority went towards feesOn October 27th ANOTHER wireless monthly fee came out another $(for November) that put my account in the negative at that time because I did enough money in the account to cover the fee and also the money for that fee took up the last bit of money I had that I anticipated using for a callCustomer service is VERY RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL & SMART ALECK in their toneI dont have tons of money to keep putting on my phone to speak with my loved one and whats the point if all if you are a few dollars when the majority is going to be used in FEESHow was I charged a monthly fee twice and havent even been with the company for a monthThey are prowling and taking advantage of people in what is already a very trying time in their lifeBut we as customers are at their mercy and have to somewhat comply until our loved ones are released especially like myself I cant just jump and go to face to face visits etc

This company is a rip off they supposedly changed their rates on 3/17/and did not tell they customers on top of that they overcharged me phone calls and do not want to refund me back I have called and spoke with several people and even a supervisor only to tell me that they did give me a credit but I never received it Its bad enough I'm getting charged every time I make a payment I noticed that they was charging me a call when it should have been They went in and changed the calls making it seem as if I was being charged the the whole time and that was not true Told me that for phone calls @ which was suppose to be I would get a credit of the but since I added more time to the phone I mysteriously don't get a credit This company is a rip off and I suggest that you keep track of your phone calls They even went so far as to removing a call and I have track of all the times he has called If you can go thru someone else I would strongly suggest you do I thought that they were decent people because I have dealt with them for at least years but after this and when he gets moved they wont get another dime of my money

This scam of a company takes advantage of people already going through tragedy. I have even cried while dealing with my unresolved issues with this scam company. I spent hundreds of dollars like the other victims who commented. And I had to beg for a three dollar refund which was never returned. Along with the 15 dollar email account I set up which never worked...taking money before the qinks are worked out. When I call to ask for refund I am told they don't offer email services. But it is the securus name on the site. And it is securus who took my money for it. They havent an ounce of customer service...the representatives act as though they are being burdened. They have a constant automated response "sorry I can't help you with that" why take our money for services not provided. It's absolutely distasteful. Incredibly frustrating.

I added funds for my son's commissary account and he never received a penny fr0m those funds. I was also told that they don't tell the inmate about the funds.. This company should not be named Securus because there is nothing secure about this company. My son told me that other inmates took his funds. Apparently, they know how to do this off other inmate's accounts. There is no security with this company. Think of how many other inmate's and their loved ones have been affected by their bad practices and fake company name. They play the "BLAME Game, too. Securus blames the institution where my son is at and the institution blames Securus. They are both in kahoots with each other making money off inmates and their families.

Securus takes advantage of people who are already having a hard time. You pay $7.95 every time you deposit money on your account via the internet with a debit card. They say if you send in a money order you won\'t be charged. IT\'S 2016!! Who sends money orders anymore? Then every month they charge you an additional $8 in fees for having an account. I opened an account on X-XX-XXXX was charged those monthly fee, then on X-XX-XXXX they charged me again another $8 for these monthly fees. Then a 15 minute phone call will cost you over $5. The made $146 million in 2015. Apparently, they think that people that have loved ones locked up are rich so, we can all afford this. I deposited my last $18 so, that I could have $10 on my account so that my husband could call me on birthday because, of those fees they took out, I had $2 left and now, he can\'t call me on my birthday because that $2 was eaten up in 1 phine call that lasted 5 min. Also, the wait time to get a customer service rep on the line was 15 minutes. This company is despicable. DO NOT USE THEM!! I WILL GO BACK TO WRITING LETTER RATHER THAN GIVE THEM 1 MORE DIME. I will tell anyone and everyone that will listen that this company is nothing but a bunch of crooks. Worse then those that are locked up.

I scheduled a remote video visitation this past week. Fifteen minutes before the scheduled visit, I began to log in and check to see how I was to connect. There was NO "begin visit" button or any way for me to make a connection. I called their 800 number only to be waiting. With no assistance, the 20 minute visit time was over and the website said I hadn't logged in! I've been trying to speak with someone since and I'm unable to reach anyone! Their "live chat" is useless. They either give you that same 800 number to call or tell you to fax in a form for a refund! This is poor customer service at its best! After all of these attempts to get assistance, I did some research on my own and found out who the parent company of Securus. Here is the information:

I funded two accounts for a relative. They moved out of the jail for a short term stay at hospital, where Securus is not used, I funded these accounts 100 percent. I am asking for my money on the balance and all I get is the run-around. I think they are thinking that if I get enough grief, I will drop the whole this and Securus gets some easy cash.

I have been appalled for the past four months in my dealings with Securus Tech. Starting with being told Apple products are not compatible so I purchased a Dell lap top for video visits. Month later I find the people who answer phones are not knowledgable. They read answers off a prompt card. I have waited on hold 90 minutes. One week, Securus didn't even know the browser they required was no longer compatible! Did I mention refunds? I mean lack of. Over 50% of my visits have not worked and they tried to accuse me of missing the visit. Well, I had screen shots of every visit to prove otherwise. The only way to get a refund- print out PDF only paper and submit via FAX, scanned into email or snail mail (so one must purchase an envelope and stamp). The policies are unethical and an obvious crime against the incarcerated families, and most of us are in poverty. The system is set up for us not to get a refund through fabricated reasoning and a hidden hierarchy oF staff.

I live chated and ask to talk to a person on the phone and he gave me a number which I called and got a machine.

After signing up to use this service and scheduling a video visit, I received confirmation of my visits and payment of such. When it came time for the visit the session would not work and another case would not allow the video to connect! I contacted the video technicians via telephone and was put on hold for 40 minutes and the operator returned to tell me that she could not get in touch with them as they were too busy and for me to try back later. Next day was another call to the techs and I did speak to them and they suggested that while logging into the scheduled video visit to NOT perform the systems check even though you should! Because this will interfere with the visit. The next day we had a visit scheduled and did exactly what they suggested and again no visit was able to be performed because the system has issues. When ask for a reimbursement they say to download a form for an investigation and fax it to them. According to others trying to use this network they too are having troubles. We have tried to login using 3 separate computers all at different places and the same thing happens! These people are scammers for sure!!

When I called customer service, I was told they do not let the inmate know the account is set up and I need to send him a letter!!!!!!

I gave my credit card info to Securus Tech's services, only to have them tell me the other party had disconnected. I suspect that they may be ripping customers off by charging two separate fees: (1) for $13 something for processing, and then another for $1 something for the so-called "call" (which in my case, they never provided). I will follow up again when I see my bank statement. Until then, I suggest everyone be careful.

I was blocked from visiting my loved one because as they put it " you have too frequent activity". If you try to make time everyday to visit your loved one they will block you from using theur visiting feature for a week.

Have tried to set up account with Securus Tech since March of 2014. Have spent hours on internet and phone ( mostly on hold ) to get accounts set up. These guys are the ONLY option and they ALL SCREWED UP. Set up an account online. Account closed in 45 days because I couldn't get message to inmate that I had an account. Account could ONLY BE ACTIVATED BY CALLING CALL CENTER. On hold for HOURS. No resolution. Activated again by phone agent after SECOND account closing. Inmate tries to call and Securus says NO CREDIT ON ACCOUNT. Enter card on phone. Get on web chat and I get told my account was not set up properly by phone agent. THIS IS NOT A COMPANY, IT IS A CLOWN CAR. AN EXPENSIVE CLOWN CAR.

this company calls with an automated message at least 20 to 30 times a day and this has been going on over a week which is impacting our church operations. there is no one to contact and a real human body to talk to does not exist. we are about to change our church phone number because of all this.
