Sedona Soul Spaces Reviews (3)

While Sedona Soul Spaces has worked with many delighted satisfied clients since 2007, this client presented with issues we had not encountered before. Our clients are typically very appreciative and respectful of our professionalism and the willingness to go above and beyond to delight our...

customers. This client was neither appreciative nor respectful.
She was progressively more and more unbalanced and forgetful; neither of which was a result of her limited [redacted] but more a result of her chronic [redacted]. At one point, her caregivers as well as her realtor made us aware that this was an ongoing problem and that we needed to be mindful that the client often “forgets” what she said or did. On one visit, the client literally got down on her knees and begged our forgiveness for her rude and terrible treatment of us. She apologized, saying it was brought to her attention by other people, that she had been controlling, rude and nasty to us and hoped we would forgive her. At that time, we were surprised since we hadn’t felt maligned, but that would change.
When we agreed to work with her, we presented an agreement that basically outlined a suggested plan for her project. After signing the agreement, the client decided she needed to unpack and organize her kitchens and closets herself because as a person with limited [redacted], she felt she needed to put her hands on every item and know where it was.
This client fell the night before her move and ended up in the hospital. We stepped in and met the movers as well as her caregivers at the new house and instructed the movers where to place everything. In addition to the original scope of the project that included paint, furniture, window treatments, staging the house with existing artwork and accessories, the client added window treatments in the guest room and bought several sets of outdoor furniture that needed to be moved and placed, which we did. These were outside the original agreement.
Overall, the client received everything she contracted for. The last items she was waiting for were the rugs, which came directly from the manufacturer. She was expecting the table and lamp that had been left at her door under the covered patio because nowhere in our agreement does it state that we will place everything in her home for her approval and no where does it state that we will deliberately put ourselves in harm’s way to enter anyone’s home. We refused to come back inside her home because the client left threatening demeaning, abusive voice mails, which were recorded and saved.
These messages were screaming rants in which the client berated us, me specifically, for the choice of window treatments that we had put up weeks ago. Once the coral window scarves were installed, the client said she would never have chosen the color, orange. Although she had picked them out, along with her friend, [redacted], who had been helping her that day, we instantly offered to take them down and get something else. The client asked us to leave them up and she would see if she grew to like them any better. This was a favorite target for her and she complained every time we spoke about the fact that they weren’t pressed before they were installed. No amount of explaining that we were evaluating them, per her direction, before having them pressed and permanently installed made any difference.
The client did repeatedly yell both on the phone, personally and on voice mail for me to “GET A BRAIN’ among other slurs and insults. When we realized that this was the client’s personality issue, and there wasn’t anything we could do positively impact a change, we sent a letter explaining our decision to terminate our working relationship. We had spent hours and hours with the client hanging pictures and artwork. She unearthed box after box of photos and knickknacks that she hadn’t looked at in years and decided she didn’t want them in her new house.  After that, we said that this would be our last day of staging. We informed her that the lamp, lamp table and 2 rugs would be drop shipped directly to her home and her caregivers could assist her further. We wished her well in her home.

The client insists that Soul Spaces did not complete the terms of our agreement and that is patently untrue. It was only after the work was completed with a few already ordered items left to be received by the client and she paid her final bill that she started the horrible calls, threats and letters. We stand fully behind the work we did, the products we brought to the client and the end result. Some people will never be happy and sadly, this client is never going to be satisfied with anything we did.

First, they were unable to keep the initial timeframe for staging, which cost us one month of prime marketing. Then, they damaged some of our personal property and will not resolve this issue to our satisfaction. Also, it was good I was there when they removed their items, for they almost took one of our personal artworks with them.
