Review: I moved into a rental property that country home real estate took over the property management of. Around the time of my move in they had begun the process of the switch. I had voiced a concern about a big situation several times but to no avail. I then began to take matters into my own hands mad stumbled across the finding of the bugs actually being bed bugs. I them again attempted to voice the concern to property manager [redacted] Sees who laughed at my concern and advised me that she would see what she could so about attending to the situation this was back in late to mid November to early to late December when these conversations first began to occur. I went out and bought a steamer mad any and all over the counter remedies that advertised the eradication of these pest...after nearly spending over $700.00 dollars the vermin still thrives on the blood my both myself and my two small children. In august we finally were making progress when [redacted] contacted me back and stated that they were willing to help me only if I agreed to pay half, being as though I was the only on in the building complaining of the issue ( there are about 4 apt on each floor of a 4 story building). I reached out to family to help me make the payments. The services where rendered thru a contract they management has with [redacted]. Upon calling [redacted] to verify what I needed to do prior to them exterminating I was informed that I was not the only apartment scheduled to have treatment done. I was relieved by the news being as though I was made to be crazy by [redacted] Sees and felt guilty because she was making me believe that I had brought these bugs in and was the only one afflicted by this issue. The services were supposed to be guaranteed which they probably would be if I was able to schedule [redacted] to come back in to retreat my apartment. I also requested an itemized bill from [redacted] for my own records especially due to the fact that I can it bring any of my furniture to my new home. The property management company refuses to give me a copy if the legal document and also refuses to take accountability even under the law of Warranty of Habitability... [redacted] Sees is very snide and rude not to mention treats good lying tenants as if they are bad tenants who don't pay on time. I would not recommend renting from them to anyone. I fear I will not get my total security deposit back because they are so shady not to mention my children and I will have to sleep on the floor until I can afford new furniture for them.

I went to pay my last month rent as well and a fee. Two seperate transactions but was only given one receipt which did not itemize the services in which I was paying for. When a corrected receipt was requested [redacted] Sees refused to provide it. Locked me in her office against my will and proceeded to call others on the phone and disrespect me by calling me names and lying on what was the reason for my visit. The local authorities had to be called and still she continued to lie and refused to produce a corrected receipt. She was absolutely rude and disrespectful. And continued to say things that were untrue and refused to provide me my legal receipt after taking my money.

Desired Settlement

I would like the proper receipt that shows both transactions and also a written apology for her slandering my name as well as my character. She has caused so much emotional stress and mental anguish since she began managing the property.

Desired Settlement: ApologyDesired Settlement: I am requesting the itemized [redacted] bill as well as reimbursement for the damages and loss of my furniture, due to them not acting quickly in regards to resolving the issue. Not to mention that since there were other apartments being treated I could not be to blame solely for the problem nor did they act in a timely manner to tackle the situation before it became so bad. I have never been late on paying my rent nor have I been a problem tenant. I am now forced to have my children sleep on the floor because they waited until just before the end of my lease to treat the apartment and are dragging their feet to have [redacted] come and retreat it to salvage what little I can.

I would like the proper receipt that shows both transactions and also a written apology for her slandering my name as well as my character. She has caused so much emotional stress and mental anguish since she began managing the property.

Response:

This is in response to **. [redacted]'s complaint regarding Country Home Real Estate.

1. **. [redacted] states that we were managing the property when she moved in. We did not take over Management of the property until January 1, 2013. She signed her lease on October 17, 2012.

2. **. [redacted] states that she talked to us on November 2, 2012. That was impossible. The property was under different Management.

3. **. [redacted] states that she talked to us on December 31, 2012. Also impossible. We had not taken over Management of property.

4. After we took over Management, **. [redacted] spoke with my Assistant, [redacted], regarding what she thought was bedbugs. At no time did I, [redacted] See, speak with her about bedbugs and laugh at her. We immediately had an exterminator, [redacted], go to her apartment. At that time they found no sign of bedbugs in bedrooms. She showed them two bedbugs that she had caught and put in a jar. She said she got them from her sofa. She was advised that someone that was visiting her was bringing them in on their clothing.

5. **. [redacted] let the bedbug situation go on and tried to treat the situation herself. She sprinkled some kind of white chemical all over her floor and let her children walk barefoot in this chemical.

6. **. [redacted] talked to [redacted] again and stated that she could not get the bedbug problem under control. We immediately contacted [redacted] and had them treat her apartment. She kept insisting that she still had bedbugs and we treated her apartment four times and each time we were told by the exterminator, [redacted], that there was no sign of bedbugs.

7. In August, **. [redacted] and another tenant went door to door in the complex and advised everyone that there was a bedbug problem and got everyone upset.

8. Although a Landlord is not responsible for the cost of treating bedbugs, we tried to be fair and **. [redacted] was only charged for 1/2 the cost of treatment.

9. There was not another tenant complaining about bedbugs except **. [redacted]. The problem started in **. [redacted]'s apartment.

10. **. [redacted] did come to my office to pay rent and her last payment for the extermination. She did not pay a full month's rent even though her lease does not expire until October 31, 2013. She currently owes rent for this month. When she and a friend of hers came to my office, I accepted her payment and wrote a receipt for the exact amount that she paid. At that time I explained to her that I had an appointment and had to leave the office shortly. She and her friend sat down and said they were not leaving until I listened to her problems. I patiently listened to what amounted to nothing for 45 minutes. The whole conversation entailed **. [redacted] telling me how stupid and inefficient I am. I finally asked them to leave again and they refused. I had to call the police department to get **. [redacted] and her friend out of the office. The fact that **. [redacted] says that I locked them in the office is also ridiculous. The lock on my office door is a dead bolt with a lever on the inside to lock or unlock the door. There is no key involved. I cannot see the reasoning for locking people in your office whom you have asked to leave. When the police finally got **. [redacted] and her friend to leave the office, **. [redacted] said to me "You have no idea who you are dealing with"

11. Since the problem originated in **. [redacted]'s apartment, I cannot see why she would expect reimbursement for damages. I feel that **. [redacted] has been treated fairly and was reacting in this manner because we evicted her sister.

12. As for slandering **. [redacted]'s name, I or nobody affiliated with this office has ever said anything derogatory about **. [redacted]. I think that she has proved in her complaint that the derogatory remarks are directed at Country Home Real Estate and myself.

Review: My complaint is about [redacted] Real Estate. They are the property management company for [redacted] Apartments at [redacted] My father was a tenant there for approximately 17 years and due to health issues decided to move out of his apartment and into my home. We submitted the required 60 day notice in writing that we would be out of the apartment by 4/30/13. We cleaned and evacuated the apartment by the date specified. I was asked to submit a written request instructing the management company where to forward the security deposit, which I did. I then called [redacted] (spelling?), the property manager, on 5/13/13, and informed her that my father had passed away. There is no probate on his estate, so I requested that the check be made out to me or my sister (the executor). [redacted] then stated that the check had already been mailed. I informed her that we did not receive it and asked what address they mailed it to. She told me they mailed it to the apartment we had evacuated the previous month, and that she would request that they reissue a check and mail it to my father's PO Box. The check had still not arrived by 5/28/13, so I called again. I was again told that a check had been mailed, and that she would follow up on it and call me back. I did not hear anything for a week, so I called again on 6/5/13. [redacted] again insisted that a check had been mailed, but she did not know what address they sent it to. I asked if I could speak directly to the person in charge of mailing out this payment, and I was told that she could not give me that infomation. I then asked if I could have the name of the current owner of the property, and she told me that she could not give me that information either. She then said that she could not be of any further assistance.Desired Settlement: I would like this property management company to issue the check for the return of my father's security deposit. The check should be made payable to me and mailed to my home.
