The Glass Pack was installed yesterday and this complaint is closed outJulie Forbes Office Manager (Phone) ###-###-#### (Fax) [redacted]

Dear [redacted] , Your request and complaint was left with and sent to the email of an employee that is no longer with the companyA refund check in the amount of $will be sent to you on Monday, May 4, We apologize for the miscommunication and delay in refundWe appreciate your business and the opportunity to help you protect your homeWarmest regards, See-Thru Management

I recently had windows installed by See-Thru Windows and Doors and cannot be more satisfied with the window quality and priceCompared to several other highly advertised / well branded companies in the area, See Thru's price was half of what those big name companies charged I would definitely recommend this company for its quality and price

A representative from See-Thru Windows did come to your home as scheduled to provide a consultation of our products and servicesAs a professionally licensed and insured company we require all home owners or legal representatives to be present to learn about our many product options, make shared decisions and if necessary, be present for the signing of any legal documentsWe strive to provide a convenient time that works best with our customers schedulesIn this growing and competitive market of home improvement, it is not customary for our representatives to leave written quotes for every customerWe find it unfortunate that we were not able to provide you with pertinent information to aid in your decision making and apologize for any miscommunicationWe would like to thank you for sharing your experience as we will use this to evaluate our customer service

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: The information is incorrect. My response is as follows: “ there was an issue with dust in house even though plastic was hung over door to the bathroom.” There was no evidence that plastic had been hung over the door. If it was, it was not hung correctly. The walls are not made of drywall and mortar; this house was built in 1949 and the walls are plaster. The company’s response includes “we lowered Ms. [redacted] ’ price” and refers to “the discounted price;” there was never any discussion of lowering or discounting the price. The contract price did not change. Samples of wainscoting were not provided. I did not see the wainscoting until it was installed and I find it very difficult to believe that they “have a lot of residential customers that love the wainscoting.” The reason I did not want them to return was they were not preparing the drywall properly for painting (using old-fashioned tape for the seams, for example). They also damaged the door frame and said it was already damaged. At that point I realized that the main floor bathroom was not going to be completed properly and I made the decision to have someone come in and do it properly. This was done quickly, professionally, and without all the dust. The bottom line: My experience with [redacted] and See-Through Windows was terrible and I would not recommend them to anyone. They misrepresented themselves in their response to my complaint and while I don't want to pay them anymore money, I will do so because I signed a contract and I am a person of integrity. Unfortunately, I don't thing that is true with their employees. Regards, [redacted]

We received a brochure about bathroom remodeling from someone at the Fairfax County Fair in the summer of We had no intention to remodel our bathrooms at that time, but thought it would not hurt to inquireA Sean M***r representing See-Thru Windows came to our home in August and took measurements and gave us an estimate for remodeling our three bathroomsWe thought the cost to be too high, but Sean M***r said he would get it financed for us for about $per month for yearsMy wife and I said: “We can afford that.” Plus, MrM***r said the monthly payment would be a decreasing amount each monthWhen push came to shove, he informed us that the financing would start at $per month, but he said the amount would decrease each monthWe reluctantly signed up for the financing but just recently found out from Wells Fargo that it will be a consistent monthly charge of $440/month for years! I can provide the details of the financing if you likeWhen I called See-Thru Windows they still believed that the monthly payment would decrease but Wells Fargo says that is not trueNeedless to say, had this information been told to us up front, we never would have agreed to have the remodeling doneI believe this is advertising to entice people to remodel rooms in their homes

See Thru Windows has informed me that a replacement window will be put in my house on March 8. However, they have NOT told me that they are agreeing to honor the life-time guarantee that I have on my windows. They need to agree to this in writing. If they do this, then their resolution is acceptable to meRegards,

After receiving this complaint on November 17th, our General Manager, Randy M*** contacted Mr*** to explain that the window manufacturer is no longer in business, therefore, we are no longer able to get that exact window or partsWe would have to replace with a similar window, at
our cost for labor and materials. Mr*** said that he would speak to his wife and get back to us. MrM*** had not received a returned phone call as of November 23, so he left a message on the customers voice mail

Dear
**[redacted],
We
are in receipt of a complaint #[redacted] regarding a recent order placed by the
complainant's mother for a [redacted]® Patio Door SystemThe complaint #[redacted] was sent
by the daughter of one of our valued customersThe complainant's letter stated
-- in her opinion -- one of our team members had used what she considers "unscrupulous
sales practices and tactics"We understand
that **[redacted] has a concernWe wish that she would have taken a
moment to contact our management office/owner directly to share her comments
and to resolve any concerns she may have had regarding this transaction before submitting
a formal complaint to the Revdex.com, as well as the Alzheimer's
Association National Office, and the Office of the Attorney General Consumer
Protection Agency We would have
appreciated an opportunity to communicate effectively and assure her in person
that we were here to help her and her mother directlyAt
See-Thru Windows & Doors, we offer high-quality, high-performance [redacted]
Doors that are made in America, offer a lifetime warranty, great strength for
security, and are custom-crafted for their individual homeowners needs. Our entire See-Thru Team is extremely proud
to provide homeowners -- of all ages -- with the very best products and
services for their home
During
our in-home visits, our Project Managers spend time with the homeowners to
discover exactly what they need to improve the safety, comfort and value of
their homesWe have spoken in depth with the team member mentioned, and have
provided his account of the experience to include the following:
[On
4-24-I was dispatched to an appointment with [redacted]As with all
home-appointments, my Marketing Department had stated that [redacted] and her
husband were the formal owners of her homeHowever upon confirmation, [redacted] had stated that her husband had passed away, and she was now the sole
property ownerDuring
my introduction, I asked [redacted] directly if she was the homeowner and the
only person to whom I should speak regarding decisions for new purchases for
her homeShe informed me with confidence, that she was the decision maker and
solely responsible for the purchase of any improvements to her homeDuring
the visit, we spent over two hours together reviewing her needs and concerns
regarding her doors within her homeShe stated that her doors were not energy-efficient,
and she even showed me where she had used expanding foam spray in an attempt to
fill in the gaps to stop the cold air and drafts that enter her home during the
winter[redacted] also stated that she is always home alone and her doors
never locked properly, and that she always places a chair against the doorknob
to try and keep it secure, "in case someone tries to break in"
After review of her personal
needs and concerns, I presented her with the [redacted]® Patio Door System information and demonstrationOur beautiful [redacted] patio door system
features internal sliding steel plates and steel bolts that lock into the
threshold for security and added strength[redacted] stated that she "loved
the doors" and thought they would be the best choice for her and her personal needs
We discussed pricing and worked together for about fifteen minutes to negotiate
a price that she felt she was fair and affordableAs with any customer, I
offered her a budget plan with only 10% downHowever, she said she wanted to
pay in cash and opted not to use the finance option[redacted] further stated
that she would write a check for one-third down, and pay the remaining balance
upon completion of the projectWe sat together while she
completed the paperwork, and then she wrote and handed me her personal check
Upon review of the information, I noticed that she had written the check
incorrectly, and had in fact written an amount for more than agreedI gave her
the check back and asked her if she could please correct the information[redacted] was embarrassed, and then handed me her check book and asked me to write
the check amount correctly on her behalfI complied with her request for
assistance, and then gave her back the check book for her review and approval
She read the check, signed it, and gave it to me for submittalWe spent another fifteen
minutes together talking on her porch, and she shared how excited she was to
finally have her doors fixed and secureThe next day, I received a
call for [redacted] daughter [redacted], stating that she was cancelling her
mother's orderShe shared that she believed her mother had dementia and was
not capable of making any decisionsI am not a trained
Psychiatrist but, I certainly never saw any indication that [redacted] was not
of sound mind. I spoke with [redacted] and
shared that I found her mother to be a stable, thoughtful person who seemed to
me, that she knew what she wantedHowever, her daughter insisted that her
mother was incompetent and should not be allowed to make any decisions on her
ownI then advised [redacted] that as her mother didn't have access to a fax
machine a Manager would stop by to review the cancelation information and paperwork
On the day scheduled, the Manager was on another appointment and not available
As I was the original project manager of record, I was sent back to [redacted]
homeDuring my second visit, I
sat down with both [redacted] and her daughter to review the information[redacted]
received a phone call and walked away from the tableI asked [redacted] what
happened, and she said she was so excited about her doors that she had
mentioned it to her daughter, and her daughter became upset that she had spent
money without her approval[redacted] further stated that her daughter was overprotective
of her and did not like it when she spent any money, or tried to do anything on
her ownI asked [redacted] if her daughter had approval of all purchases she
made, and if she had power of attorney over herShe said no, he daughter did
not have power or attorney or approval over herI stated that I would not do
anything that she did not want me to, as I was there for her best interestsI
asked her if she still wanted the sliding door systemShe said yes, and then asked
that I help herWhen [redacted] daughter,
[redacted] returned she was very domineering and spoke over her mother several
timesIn fact, they argued in front of me and [redacted] was extremely upset with
her mother as she had actually made a decision to spend any money without her
approvalThe daughter continued to argue with her mother and asked her where
the money would come from, [redacted] clearly stated for her not to worry, as
she had the money and she wanted the new door system to ensure her safety in
her own home[redacted] then stated that it didn't matter as she had already cancelled the contract herselfI shared with
[redacted] that since she did not have power of attorney over her mother that her
cancellation was not valid, and only [redacted] could actually cancel the
documentI then asked [redacted] to sign the cancellation notice in front of
me -- and, only if she herself -- really
wanted to cancel the order[redacted] hesitated, and then her daughter, [redacted]
stood up and walked over to her mother and said, "sign itRight now, mom."
And, she did.]
See-Thru Windows & Doors
takes great pride in providing the very best quality and secure home
improvement products to homeowners who want and need themIn this case, the
homeowner who watched the demonstration and viewed the actual door samples
understood the quality of this [redacted]®
Patio Door SystemUnfortunately, her daughter
refused to see the quality and based her decision on price aloneFurther, per her complaint
submitted -- without even being present
for the demonstration – the daughter of the actual customer accused a team
member with a long history of excellence and an exemplary service record of "unscrupulous
sales practices and tactics." We know this individual team member truly felt
that he was looking out for the customers' best interest and worked to ensure
she was safe and secureIn closing, we realize in
today's world "salesmen" have become the butt of terrible jokes and are often judged
unfavorably without causeHowever home improvement sales is our business, and
we take our responsibility seriouslyAnd, it is due to this overwhelming responsibility
that we appreciate **[redacted] concerns Therefore, we have updated our training
program to include information regarding the signs of dementia as listed within
the Alzheimer's Association's websiteWith the growing number of people
suffering from this disease, we will work to help our See-Thru team members
recognize a customer who may have a health situation that could compromise their
judgment or ability to communicate their needs effectivelyThe entire See-Thru team has
served our community and provided thousands of customers – of all ages and
ability's – with exceptional products to help ensure they are comfortable and safe
in their homesAnd, we'll continue to do so for many years to come

Our last conversation with [redacted] was on the afternoon of Friday, October 30, 2015. The customer was informed that the refund payment would be mailed out immediately and that I believed our mail had already ran for the day.
A refund payment of $2,860.00 check number [redacted] was...

cut on 10/30/15 and placed in our outside USPS mailbox for pick up at our Waldorf, MD location. It was mailed to [redacted] Silver Spring, MD [redacted].This morning, after receiving the complaint, we called the customer and he did confirm that he received his refund payment.

representative from See-Thru Windows did come to your home as scheduled to provide
a consultation of our products and services. As a professionally licensed and
insured company we require all home owners or legal representatives to be
present to learn about our many product options, make shared decisions and if
necessary, be present for the signing of any legal documents. We strive to
provide a convenient time that works best with our customers schedules. In this
growing and competitive market of home improvement, it is not customary for our
representatives to leave written quotes for every customer. We find it unfortunate that we were not able to provide you with
pertinent information to aid in your decision making and apologize for any
miscommunication. We would like to thank you for sharing your experience as we will use this to evaluate our customer service.

See-Thru Windows and Doors is questionably the most unprofessional home remodeling organization in the Mid-Atlantic area. If I could give them zero stars I would. I strongly recommend that you take your hard earned money and spend it elsewhere. Just about all of See-Thru's work is subcontracted although they will tell you otherwise. They are quick to take your money and are very slow to help when it is their turn to produce. Please feel free to contact me directly, I would live to share more information about this comply with you before you make a huge mistake in signing on the dotted line with See-Thru.

We had sent a sales representative out to see Ms. [redacted] about a week prior to the general manager’s visit in which Ms. [redacted] decided not to place an order. The general manager of the company requested...

a follow up visit to see if our company could work with Ms. [redacted]. After talking with Ms. [redacted] and finding out her desires, the general manager had the owner of the company became involved to see if we could accommodate Ms. [redacted]’ wishes. They were able to come to a mutually satisfying agreement which Ms. [redacted] agreed to. During the course of completing the job, there was an issue with dust in house even though plastic was hung over door to the bathroom. This was due to the fact that the walls were made out of drywall and mortar. This type of wall creates a lot of fine dust which is impossible to contain to one area. We have an outstanding crew which has been with us for 15 years. Our company has never had a complaint for disrespectful behavior in regards to this crew so it was surprising to hear this. We admit that we did make a mistake in installing the wrong tub surround in the main bathroom. However, we lowered Ms. [redacted]’ price and worked this out to her satisfaction. As part of this arrangement was that we did offer to install the correct system but Ms. [redacted] choose to go with the discounted price, have us remove the wainscoting and tile, and then install drywall. As the general manager was there when Ms. [redacted] picked out each and every product, it is baffling as to why Ms. [redacted] feels she did not have enough samples provided. We have a lot of residential customers that love the wainscoting. Ms. [redacted] did not like it which is a personal preference. We agreed to remove the wainscoting and make the wall paint ready in its place. We went more than the extra mile at this job site. The work was supposed to be done per the contractual agreement. We did not need to go beyond the call of duty but we did because we truly want our customers happy. Drywall work requires several trips. In this case, we still have one trip left to go back to finish up. However, Ms. [redacted] would not let us return. Ms. [redacted] said that she would have her contractor finish the drywall and would send us the remaining balance due. We were going to repair or replace depending on what Ms. [redacted] wanted but she refused to have us return. All the walls were prepared for painting. However the ceiling was something we did at no charge and was not part of the contract so that we could install the tub. Between the owner of the company and the general manager, we gave Ms. [redacted] an excellent price. We did additional work over and beyond what we were required to do. If a service is needed on our work, we will definitely take care of it. As of right now there are no outstanding services on this job. We strive to treat all of our customers with the same respect and care that we would want to be shown ourselves. We want all our customers to be happy with their purchases when we are finished with their job.
