In regards to the letter sent to me by the Revdex.com, I have the followingA few weeks ago a woman called my business, See’s AutomotiveShe had ordered all wheel bearings for her ford explorer off the Internet and wanted to know how much I would charge to install themI told
her dollars per wheel, so she made an appointmentOn September 8th she dropped off her explorer with the wheel bearingsI got her phone number so I could call her when we were finishedWe put her vehicle on the hoist and the right rear wheel was ready to fall off, the bearing was so badThe only bearing that was ok was the left frontAfter inspecting the bearings we noticed that the rear bearings had to be pressed in and outI called the customer and told her that it would cost more since we had to take the spindles off and take them to a machine shop to have them pressed out and back inI told her it would cost dollars for rear bearings and I would do the right front for dollarsShe said go ahead and do itMy mechanic began to take both rear spindles off and he told me to come back and look at it before he took it apartSomebody had put a piece of nail in both rear tie rod ends, I assume to tighten them upThe emergency brake was not hooked up alsoHe took the rear spindles off and took them along with the bearings to the machine shopTwo hours later he picked up the spindlesThe machine shop showed him the right rear spindle was cracked and not safe for the new bearingI called the customer and she said she would try to get a spindleI told her I would try to find one alsoI called all the part stores in town and nobody could get oneI called a salvage yard in *** ** and they had a used spindle for dollarsI told them to send it to me and they said it would be here the next dayI called the customer and told her that I found one for dollars and she said good because she could not find oneShe asked how much the total bill would be and I told her dollars for rear bearings, dollars for right front, and dollars for spindleWe got the spindle the next day and put everything back together the way it was when we took it apartThe mechanic took the vehicle for a drive and I called the customer and told her it was doneShe came and paid and picked up her vehicle and leftWe done exactly what we were paid to do at the price I quotedI do not feel we have done anything wrong and do not feel she is entitled to a refund Install rear bearings Install right front bearing Right rear spindle Wv sales tax 6% total Thank you Sincerely *** *** ***
