lack of customer service and felt disrespectedI paid over $3600 for a fence to be around my back yard. The guy [redacted] was handling the fence, [redacted] was the service rep I was sending most emails back and forth to. My main issue is with [redacted]. I requested when the work was done to be contacted and for pictures to be taken and sent to me. I told him I am in Afghanistan and would not be there to see the final out come. I wanted to make sure he went off the new sketch I drew up and not the one he drew. When I sent my sketch Im sure he went off that I am hoping.So when he finished I didnt get any email till days later and also no pics. I sent a few emails still asking for pics to see where the fence line started. Still nothing. After the response I got from his last email and how unprofessional he sounded that was enough. I deserve more respect and better service then what that company has provided. He knew I was in Afghanistan he dont know if Im military or not but I am a veteran and me being over here he should know that, I feel I have been treated like nothing when it comes to this company, they just put me on the bottom of their to do list cause I am overseas. Thats not right I paid for a service and requested for pics that were never sent. And the lack of time it has taken him to respond to my requests is unacceptable. I have never been treated like this before from a company that I paid almost $4000 to. I truly feel disrespected from [redacted] and the Seegars fence Co. This is no way you treat a paying customer especially one over in a Hostile place like Afghanistan I do not need more stress and worry from people like this while I am over here. If I could I would rip up the fence and have another company do the job. I feel they are not deserving of the money I paid them. A direct email [redacted] sent said " I havent been in the area, when I am in the area I will take pics" unacceptable and lazy practice on a service I paid and being a veteran I shouldnt be treated like that at all, no one should after paying for a service. They are taking advantage of me being over here. At this point I dont care if it was done the way I wanted. The lack of response and request is why I am so upset and they nee dto know they should not work with this type of manner.Desired SettlementI am not sure if a refund is what I want or need. But I do want them to be responsible in a way. I really have felt disrespected and they need to know. If there is something else that can happen im fine with it. Thanks for your time.Business Response /[redacted]/Apologized to Mr. [redacted] and explained that the installers do not have a way to take a picture and send to him. [redacted] has since gone out and taken pictures to send. Mr. [redacted] has acknowledged receiving these pictures. He contacted our office and said it appears that the fence was not placed where he would like it. We have agreed that the fence will be relocated if this is the case. Seegars does not normally start a project without the homeowner present to go over the final layout before we start construction. This eliminates this type of confusion. In Mr [redacted]'s case we made the exception due to the fact he is out of the country serving in the military. ( which we greatly appreciate). We will confirm the location of the fence and make arrangements to relocate it if this needs to be done. As to the lack of customer service we apologized to Mr [redacted] if he felt this way. We try to treat every customer with respect and gratitude for allowing us to build their fence. Consumer Response /[redacted]/I have worked it out with the owner at this point. corner of the fence is in my nieghbors yard, and seagars said they can fix for an additional fee I paid seagars a lot of money for my fence to be installed, more than others were asking. I thought I would be paying for a nice repitiable company with good customer service, but I was wrong. I recently found out when selling my home, that a corner of my fence is in my nieghbors yard. I called Seagars and they said not thier fault and they could fix for an additional cost. That this is the home owners responsibility. The fence installer messed up and it's my responsibility to repair, I don't agree with this and find it strange they are not willing to resolve this. Even crazier the nieghbor ajoining used Seagar also, and connected to my fence in the same corner and they did not even notice and say that it was wrong.Desired Settlementmove the corner of my fence that is in my nieghbors yard back into my yard. The ground was spray painted in orange by a professional surveyor. So they know for a fact where and how much to move the fence. It is not off by much, maybe 6-8 inches but impacts selling my home. Seegars Fence of Cary installed this fence not Seegars Fence of Raleigh. By the time We, in the Cary location heard of this problem with the fence it had already been taken care of. I have talked with the customer, and have agreed to go out and look at the fix, to be sure that it is indeed ok. If there are any other issues with this, we will be glad to take care of it. The problem has been solved.Consumer Response /[redacted]/The Raleigh office was not helpful at all, other than suggesting that I pay them to move the fence. Cary office contacted me and was helpful and mentioned that they would go out and fix the fence if it needed futher adjustment or cosmetic issues. I sold this home, so I am not able to comfirm that this was done, but I hope they are a man of thier word and this was taken care of. To my knowledge and understanding this is no longer an issue.
