Seegars put in a chain link fence for me for my dogs, and I had a great experience with them. The price was great, the job was done quickly, and everybody was really nice and easy to work with.

Early Termination fees from my contract based on the fact that Military Orders are causing the contract to be terminated.On September 9th 2014, at approximately 1200 I called Seegar's Fence Rentals to pay my monthly bill of $35.00. I am currently serving on active duty as a Military Police Soldier at Fort Lee, Virginia serving in the 217th Military Police Detachment. I have been placed on orders requiring me to cancel my contract with Seegar's Fence and advised them I would be shipping to my next duty assignment on October 10th 2014 and needed the fence removed in order to clear post housing. They set up an appointment to remove my fence on October 8th and I then paid an additional $35.00 to cover the bill for October and be paid in full upon removal. I asked if they needed copies of my orders to be faxed or digitally sent to verify the exigent circumstances for cancelling my lease agreement early. They said that would not be needed and thanked me for my business. Approximately thirty minutes later I was called back by Seegar's Fence with them telling me I would need to pay an additional $80.00 early termination fee since I did not fulfill the 24 month obligation of the rental. When I advised them under the Service Members Civil Relief Act in the case of Military Orders I am able to break my lease on rental agreements without incurring penalties as outlined in Title 50 U.S.C. Sec 523 they told me that made sense and were not aware of this law and would call me back with a final decision on the fees once it was cleared with the owner. I received another call at approximately 1600 from Seegar's Fence telling me that the owner decided he was still going to charge me the $80.00 Early Termination Fee on the basis that I still breeched the contract and would be held liable regardless that I was on Military Orders to change assignments. I feel as an Active Duty Soldier with one tour to Afghanistan and the only source of income for a family of four that these penalties are utterly disgusting and place my family in financial hardship living paycheck to paycheck when Seegar's Fence should abide by United States Code and not slap me with the Early Termination Fee of $80.00. This is a completely easy fix I have never missed a bill and have been paying on the fence rental since December of 2013 with 10 installments of $35.00 paid in full and on time. Seegar's Fence should be ashamed for trying to take advantage of active duty Soldiers and hope this poor practice is resolved now and in the future.Desired SettlementWaive of $80.00 early termination fee based on the fact that the termination would not have occurred if no Military Orders for Permanent Change of Station would have been issued. This is also in violation of Title 50 U.S.C Section 523 Service Members Civil Relief Act (SCRA) requiring the waiver of penalties arising under a contract that my obligation was unable to be performed because of my Active Duty Military Service.Business Response /[redacted]/As a service to our military, we provide rental fencing for active duty personal at or below our cost. We do not provide this service at any cost to anyone outside of our active military. We require copies of one's Enlistment and recent Change of Duty Status before providing a rental fence agreement. We realize our active duty military are faced with unique circumstances and maybe deployed or moved on short notice. Therefore, we review each case on a case by case basis to determine what should be done in the event someone must break a rental agreement. In this case, we did not receive Mr. [redacted]'s Enlistment and recent Change of Duty Status prior to providing an agreement. Therefore, we will waive his early termination fee and are removing the fence immediately.
