Review: A monogramed giftwrapped towel was purchased and processed online oct.1, 2013. I paid an additional $33.37 in order that it be delivered on a 3 day rush, as the wedding gift was needed on Sunday Oct 5th. On Thursday I called U.P.S. and the Thirsty Towels customer services in order to track my package. At that time Thirsty towels reps. informed me that my delivery would not arrive until Monday the 7th! In hoping for the best I requested that U.P.S. allow me to pick up the item, ONLY, on FRIDAY, OCT.4th -hoping that it could possibly make it to the event on time. I actually received the gift on Tuesday Oct.8th. a full 8 days after I ordered the towel! The towel /monogram/ giftwrap cost $73.00. The order did not include the message/card, that said "happy wedding"etc., so I had to purchase a card as well! The Thirsty Towels, Supervisor refused to refund the shipping costs. She kept saying that U.P.S. 3 day shipping and "Thirty Towels" fulfilled the terms of the order even though the item was received 8 days after it had been paid for and processed! please help...Desired Settlement: I would like the shipping costs of $33.37 refunded. The company did not provide the "card" that I'd paid for, saying- happy wedding wishes etc.....I'm not sure how this would be compensated. In searching for the excluded card, I had to open the gift wrapping, take out the item, and then re wrap it, with much difficulty, as clear packing tape had been used to affix the wrapper.

Here is our response to [redacted]’s complaint:The order was placed on 10/1 and shipped within 24 hours, on 10/2. The website clearly defines shipping transit times on “Shipping” page on the website

https://www.thirstytowels.com/thirsty-towels-shipping.php The transit days starts the day after shipping takes place, in this case it would be 10/3 and order wouldn’t have arrived to the destination till 3 business days after 10/3, which is the 7th. (UPS excludes weekends, which is outlined in the shipping page).Under normal circumstances, the order would have arrived on Monday the 7th but because customers contacted UPS on her own and asked that the item be held at the UPS facility, with the hopes that she could pick it up prior to delivery date, this request halted and delayed the delivery date for one additional day. UPS furnished this information to us upon our contact with them.As for a gift-note that is mentioned, there is no gift card promised anywhere on our website. During the ordering phase, customer is asked if that would like to include a “gift-note” which is automatically generated as they type it on the “gift-invoice” that goes with the order. Had the customer called us to inquire about the lack of the card she was looking for, we would have informed her that the “note” was to be found on the receipt and she wouldn’t have had to unwrap the package. In closing, four different customer sales associates dealt with assisting **. [redacted] on this matter, myself having the last conversation as the Manager and she was heard by our office staff that “she had the means, the will and the motivation to slander” our company which we take very seriously. I feel I have provided all the pertinent information to bring a meaningful explanation to this issue and would appreciate your assistance in resolving the complaint.
