Dear ** and [redacted]:
I want to first apologize for the confusion and your experience at our store. It was surely not intentional on our part and feel very badly that this happened to you.
I have discussed the matter with [redacted] at length and think there...

must have been some misunderstanding about pricing and the model. Again, I apologize to you both for this.
We do sell used [redacted] for $4,000 and up and provide a 6 month warranty on all parts. New **s list for $6,450 and carry a one year warranty, so there is quite a bit of savings in going this route.
The ** or [redacted] model with the large tires retail new for just under $7,000 and also carries a one year warranty.  We do have two used [redacted] currently in inventory, both with very low mileage, and like new in look and condition. Used ** models start at $5,000 and also carry a 6 month warranty.   Given the two we currently have are low mileage and are like new, we normally would ask $6,000. Given the confusion however and as a gesture of goodwill,  I can adjust the price and sell one of these to you all for $5,000 and of course provide the 6 month warranty. There is no dealer I know of that will sell used segways with any kind of warranty.
The cart has never been for sale and has only been a prop for the store.  There is no seat or platform to it nor is there any attachment to hook to a segway, both of which therefore make it totally nonfunctional and not saleable.  [redacted] checked with me to be sure I didnt want to sell it as he should.  [redacted] also indicated to me that he told you all he would check and see if it was for sale.
[redacted] told me he indicated to you that we could order the 2 [redacted] for an extra charge.  I am happy to do this for you all if you like for either model, the ** or the **. My cost as a dealer for each [redacted] is $276 which includes the structure and case or $552 for the two. I can provide these to you at my cost with no profit markup at all.
Finally, at no time did I tell [redacted] nor have I ever told any employee that has worked for me that I would take any price discrepancy out of his or her pay. This is highly unethical and totally wrong and is simply nothing I have or ever would do nor condone.
I wll follow up with you over the next few days. Or, if you prefer, please feel free to call me at your convenience on my personal cell phone, [redacted].
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Revdex.com:

[redacted], or [redacted], seems very agreeable now and states that [redacted] says he did not offer us the Segway with the big tires, plus the cart, plus 2 bags for $4000.
However, [redacted] did make that offer to us, and stated that we should not pay until he serviced it. He did tell us the cart was free because he was tired of looking at it and we would need to go online to secure a connector for it.
He also said he would call us on the day after we were there. He never called us and we ended up calling him on the following Tuesday. This is when we received the bad news that the offer had been recinded by [redacted] and that we could not speak with [redacted], because he would not answer his cell phone if we called him.
Their story has been "rewritten" to make them sound like really good guys and honorable businessmen, which they are not.
We will not be back in that store again and will not pay close to $6000 for something we thought we had purchased for $4000.
I will be satisfied to have their underhanded dealings posted on the Revdex.com site to warn others who might plan to shop there.

Review: My husband and went in to Segway of Richmond on Friday, April 4,2014.

[redacted] showed us several and we picked one out. He told us it would cost $4000 and would include a cart and 2 side containers. He said not to pay him until we returned to pick up when he had it cleaned up and ready.

We called him on Tuesday (4/8/2014) to arrange a pickup time. At that time he told us that his boss, a [redacted] would not let us have it.

We asked to speak to [redacted] and we're told he was out of town & could not be reached by phone.

Somehow [redacted] got in touch with him and said he would sell it to us for $5000. OR we could buy a similar one that would be available in 10 days for $4500.

I had already planned a trip from Carrollton in Tidewater to pick up the original purchase on Thursday (4/10/2014).

[redacted] also told me that his [redacted] told him that he could let us have either one for $4000 and he would take the difference out of [redacted] salary.

This has been a most unpleasant experience. I don't think it is an ethical way of conducting business. [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like for [redacted] call me and tell me why he allows his employees to sell products in his store and then refuse to honor the prices they sell them for.

I would also like to see this business sanctioned for this poor treatment of a customer.
