Seider Heating Enviratech Reviews (4)

Seider associates are disrespectful to owners. They try to blame any problem of your furnace on your negligence just to escape from fulfilling the warranty that you purchase with the product. They even do not respect other professionals opinions and their comments about what needs to be done to correct the problem. If you purchase a furnace from them try to contact the manufacturer to verify that they did file your warranty. mine wasn't registered according to carrier. If you want to learn about what is right and best step to correct any problem they try to escape straight answer and turn it around to accuse you of negligence.

Review: On August 299th my Carrier air conditioner broke down. I called Seider because they installed it not two years earlier. They service came and after a short time discovered a bug inside the electrical system that was causing the unit from operating. The service man said the usually get a $89.00 trip charge but he would not charge it because we were in "good standing". Today I get a call from Seider saying they have an outstanding bill for $89 plus tax. He was very cross from the word go. I got cross because he accused me of not paying a bill that they did not send in the first place. When I told him I was going to voice my opinions. He said that he had a recourse also. He stated that if I did that he would cancel my warranty. The serviceman never collected any money told me there was no charge. Seider admitted fault of the Serviceman by not collecting any money. I told me in a loud voice that I have one week to pay the bill and he was sending it out. When I asked to speak to the serviceman that fixed the unit. he told me I was not allowed to do that, which sounded extremely suspicious to me. I agreed to pay the bill on protest, but advised him I was calling Carrier and contacting the B.B.B. Carrier's main office of Carrier and they said he could not void my warranty because it was not his, but mine. So according to that that point of view he outright lied to me to get me to pay this bill I never got and was told by the serviceman that there was no charge of the normal $89 trip fee. Carrier stated because it is there warranty and not Seider's I can have anybody that handles carrier's can do my work. I will never let these people in my house again. If a representative of their company says he was waiving the trip charge they should take it up with him and punish a customer. I am extremely upset, he made me out to be a bum, and I will not forget that for as long as I owe that money. I also told him that if the Serviceman said I was liable for the trip charge up front I would have paid it right th$Desired Settlement: I would like my money back because I will pay with protest for when I actually receive a bill, but I want also want I wish an apology for treating me so rudely.

Here is short synopsis of [redacted] record

Review: Worker came out to fix our oil furnace - ran the furnace for about 1 minute after fixing -- when we turned the furnace on 3 days later (the weather was warm, so did not need to use the furnace until 3 days later) - oil fumes came up into the house, to the point of making us sick, we just bought a new 1700.00 rug, concerned that the fumes permeated the rug - black smoke came out of the chimney - with all of this there was no heat in the house. We called the company - Seider Heating, emergency phone number -- and were unable to get anyone out here on an emergency call - we called and left messages 3 times - finally [redacted] called us back and said that he did not have "much experience with oil burning furnaces" but he could come out for a $150 emergency call plus labor" - it is going to be 25 degrees tonight - we need a competent person to come out and fix our furnace -- and they cannot get us one.Desired Settlement: We would like to get someone out here to fix the furnace. Apparently that is not going to happen. We would like a refund. And - we would like to make sure that this is documented so that it does not happen to anyone else. VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH SEIDER HEATING SERVICE - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

I did have the opportunity to speak with all of our service techs regarding Ms. [redacted] complaint. [redacted] is one of our younger techs and was trying to be honest when he informed the customer that he is lacking experience in oil burners. [redacted] was being upfront and honest which immediately upset Ms. [redacted]. [redacted] stated that he would need to get hold of a manager and we would need to get one of our other technicians to go out who are more experienced in oil burners. [redacted] actually called me that evening and I did call the customer after I had spoken with [redacted] at length to about this situation. [redacted] also related to me his phone conversation. He had been speaking to a gentleman at first and was tried to explain that he was not familiar with oil burners when he heard screaming in the background. At that time apparently Ms. [redacted] grabbed the phone and started screaming at [redacted] demanding the phone number of his manager. After [redacted] explained that to me I did call the customer and asked them to please call me back so I could schedule a tech to come out to their home. I did not receive a return call. My Service manager also called around 8 AM on Saturday morning to schedule to get a tech out there to take care of the problem. Our service manager was told that they had already taken care of the problem. A very important part of this situation that was omitted from her complaint was that when we were originally out there to repair the boiler on 3/31, our tech checked the boiler and informed Ms. [redacted] that the unit had not been service in approximately 6 years and was in very poor condition. The filter was plugged, the nozzle was dirty and the boiler was about 25-30 years old.. He recommended that they should consider replacing in the near future. Our technician also recommended that the boiler needs a complete and thorough tune and clean to get it running the way it should. Ms. [redacted] stated "We only need it to run for a couple weeks and then we will look to replace it." Ms [redacted] asked our tech if he thought the boiler would last a couple weeks, he stated it should, but there are no guarantees, especially for a 30 year old boiler in very poor condition. Our tech stated at a minimum the boiler needs a complete cleaning. Ms. [redacted] stated that she "Didn't want to spend any money on it." Since Ms. [redacted] declined our technicians original recommendation, he did the very minimum to get the boiler running, which was replacing the electric eye. The boiler was up and running. Since Ms. [redacted] was obviously frustrated her boiler failed again, [redacted] explained that there would be a charge and we would get a service tech out there experienced in oil burners. Ms [redacted] again screamed at [redacted] and stated up front that "No way was she paying us any more money." Apparently they ended up having another contractor come out and do the exact work we recommended on 3/31. Mr. [redacted] admitted to our service manager on Saturday morning that the other contractor performed the work that we originally suggested, in which Ms. [redacted] did not approve.

I really miss [redacted]! When the owners retired they sold to Seider. [redacted] was always fair and priced well. It cost me $200 in service fees for a $9.00 part and less than a hour of work. $105 for service call and an addition $90 bucks for a truck fee. Keep in mind they are only a few blocks from my house. When I e-mailed them (via e-mail and via a message on FB) as to what the heck a truck fee is, I received no response. I will not be using their services again. Oh yeah, the guy was already in my house when he said "you know what our service call fees are, don't you?" I didn't!
