Review: A special custom order of a couch and two arm chairs were placed w/ Seifert's in December 2013. Furniture was delivered March 3, 2014. In the beginning months of 2016, we noticed a pink discoloration appearing in different areas on the couch and chairs. I contacted Seifert's immediately re: this problem and two of their employees were sent to inspect. They both agreed there was an obvious problem and took pictures to report back with Seifert's. Kim, the owner's daughter, subsequently sends a factory representative from [redacted]. He doesn't see a problem, very brief inspection. Kim responds by coming to the house and unzips the cushion and finds there is a pink print on the foam which is bleeding thru the material. Kim confirms [redacted] should have seen this obvious pink print if they would have unzipped the cushion. She agrees there is a problem. [redacted]'s proposed solution was for us to pay $40/per cushion and they would recover them with no guarantee that the materials would match. The discoloration also appeared on other areas of the couch and chairs. Fixing the cushions would not have remedied the problem. Since we paid $4,000 for this furniture, we felt that we shouldn't have to pay to fix the problem incurring an additional cost. Kim went back to [redacted] and they refused to replace the furniture. They didn't feel the problem was their fault. Seifert's would need to place another order with them at their expense, donating the discolored furniture to a local thrift store once the new pieces were delivered. At this point, Kim gave me the impression she had reordered. Two-1/2 months passed when I called for status. Kim informed me that her father, the owner, decided he wasn't going to replace it and stated he's had problem with [redacted] in the past. Mid-June Kim informs me he's not reordering anything at his expense. Now they're proposing cleaning it with no guarantee this will work. We have no choice but to pursue this legally. No one is standing behind the $4,000 product we purchased.Desired Settlement: We feel Seifert's should resolve the problem and be held responsible for having the entire set of furniture replaced. We feel it needs to be resolved whether it comes from Seifert's or [redacted], the manufacturer.

Response:

Fabric on furniture only has a one year warranty, which this had exceeded. I have been trying to dilgently find a resolution any way for my customer. I have been at their home again this morning and I'm mailing a cushion and core to [redacted] to inspect and test. We have never had an issue of pink appearing on fabric before. But, if I can help the customer resolve this issue with [redacted] I will. Kim O[redacted]

Review: Ordered a Sofa & Loveseat on 08/28/2013. Furniture delivered on 09/26/2013. Staples ready to pop through foot rest and recliners make pinging when returned to normal position. Called business and was told they would order new foot rest & springs. 10/03/2013 men came to look at furniture and put OUR duck tape on springs. This is no fix. Called business on 10/04/2013. They will order new foot rest & springs.11/19/2013-men came to fix furniture-did not have all the parts. 01/10/2014 men came to fix furniture again but still did NOT have all the parts. Called Seifert's 02/14/2014 and they have not ordered the springs as of yet. Six months and still waiting for furniture fix is not very good business practice. Made the custom furniture in less than a month but six months to get parts to fix it is unexceptable.Desired Settlement: Either make new furniture or give some kind of refund to compensate for this bad business practice.

Review: I have purchased over $4000.00 worth of product from the Conneaut Lake store in the last year and a half. The Catnapper recliner I purchased will no longer stop in the halfway position. They looked at it 6 months ago but never got back to me. I also purchased a $1000 kitchen table set and a chair was cracked when they delivered it. No replacement after I called them.Desired Settlement: I want a new Catnapper and either replace the kitchen chair or replace with a comparably priced set.

Review: I purchased a living room suit from the store. The contract I received at the time states a limited lifetime warranty on the frame/Springs. Under normal use, the frame is guaranteed for life as long as the original fabric is on the furniture. We will repair any part that does not hod up or that fails in the frame and spring system FREE OF CHARGE as long as you own it and as long as the original fabric is on it. Must be the original purchaser. I contacted the store and was told the [redacted] is now out of business. They want me to pay half of all costs because of this. I was told I would have to pay to have service men come to my house to access the damage. I suggested dropping off the cushions but they said no. They were to contact me and let me know what they were going to cover. Its been a week and I haven't heard from them. I think this is bad business practice and other people should be aware of it.Desired Settlement: I don't know if anything can be done. I just want other people to be aware of bad business practices. This isn't my first

bad experience with a furniture store. Thank you.

We explained to the customer that the warranty that she had stated in her complaint was from the Manufacturer, not Seifert's Furniture. This Company went out of business, so there is no access to parts, springs , cushion cores or warranty claims. With this item being 9 years old, we suggested that she contact an upholstery shop to order foam cushion cores. The Company we used to order foam cushion cores from charges $65 and up depending on density of foam as well as size, which she was told on the phone. We offered our upholsterers number and she refused. She then stated she would drop the items off, and again she was told that there is no way for us to order parts under that Manufacturers warranty.
