Seigfried's Restaurant Equipment Reviews (1)

Review: I opened a Pizza Shop in June 2013, and went to Siegfrieds to purchase used equipment. I purchased 2 [redacted] Pizza Ovens, A sandwich Bainmarie that was converted to a pizza table, a new sandwich bainmarie, and a 2 burner stove. The day after all the equipment was delivered, the used pizza table became warm so we called and they sent a technician out right away. After almost 2 weeks of the technician putting new parts into the pizza table, it was realized that that piece was no good. The technician who worked on it stated when he took the back off to get to the refrigeration coils it was loaded with cobwebs, rust, dust, etc, leading me to believe this unit wasnt even cleaned before it was sold to us. After speaking with Mr Siegfried he stated he hired some "kids" over the summer to recondition the units and evidently they didnt do a good job. About 1 week after the Pizza table was fixed I called and asked to have a technician come out because the top pizza oven wasnt working right. They sent someone out and he looked at it and said it was the Thermocoupler and he replaced it. The oven worked for a few weeks then the same thing began happening. I turned my bottom pizza oven on since the top wasnt working and used the bottom one until the top was repaired. I then called back to let them know that Im having proble** with both the top and bottom ovens now not staying lit. They sent a technician out a few days later and replaced the thermocouplers again., so at this point both ovens have new thermocouplers installed. In November 2013 the same proble** happened, the ovens light and then go out, wont stay lit. I called and spoke to technician who stated that per the owner they have been out here enough and they will come out for $68 per hour, as our 6 month warranty is expired. I stated that we have had nothing but ongoing proble** with equipment since it has been installed, but they wont budge from their stand.Desired Settlement: Come out and do a full check up using a Ohm meter to be sure what the problem is with the ovens. If it is only a thermocoupler then I do not object to paying for the part, but no labor costs. If its any other part besides the thermocoupler then I would request that it be fixed for free because of multiple misdiagnosis of the problem. Once both ovens are up and running and everything has proven to be operating corectly then I will no longer do business with them so they wont need to worry about any type of action down the road.

Dear **. [redacted],

On 1/15/14 [redacted] Seigfried, owner of Seigfried's Restaurant Equipment visited the customer The equipment is out of warranty But we will continue to help the customer wit ft their needs as we have been doing.

The customers equipment had a 30 day 50/50 warranty (we pay the part, customer pays the labor) as does all of our used equipment unless otherwise stated The equipment was delivered only and installed by the customer. We do not warranty equipment once it is handled by others with regards to installation unless we evaluate the equipment and find that a part may have malfunctioned that shouldn’t have. If that is the case we will replace the part at our cost.

Most times when gas appliances are concerned there is an inconsistency in gas flow as opposed to the equipment malfunctioning. We did visit the customer within the first two weeks of delivery to look at a pizza prep unit that they said was not working properly. The customer mentioned that ovens needed adjusting which we did while we were there. We did tell the customer we highly recommend that they have gas regulators installed to assist with regulating the gas flow to the ovens. They did not install regulators to the best of our knowledge. The customer signed our work orders that stated all the equipment was working correctly and that we recommended regulators.

The pizza prep unit was still not operating correctly per the customer within 30 days after delivery. We exchanged that unit with another at no additional cost to the customer. We informed the customer to he sure to keep the pans installed in the top part of the unit and keep the lid closed to insure proper operation. While there we checked the ovens. They signed a work order that all was working property.

Months went by and we heard nothing from the customer. The warranty was for a 30 day period after delivery which was June of 2013. We got a call in November that the ovens were not working properly. "We offered to come and evaluate the ovens at our current service rates. In December of 2013 we received a letter with a complaint from the customer via the Revdex.com.

As stated at the beginning of the letter we are again in touch with the customer and will do what we can to assist them in getting their equipment to operate properly. At this point in time we are scheduled to go to their premise the week of Jan. 27, 2014 to evaluate their concerns.

We intend to assist our customer, warranty any service or equipment we may be liable for and/or preform services as mutually agreed. Thank you for your interest.

Sincerely,
