HOA late fees. I called twice before purchasing the house to discuss fees and regulations with no success receiving help at that time or call back. Prior to purchasing Aug. 29, 2016 I called twice to get info regarding property ownership, fees, etc. At that time no one could help and I didn't get the promised call backs. I didn't realize until much later that I under paid the fees. I have several pieces of rental property and have no problem paying necessary fees or any other bills. After receiving a bill w/ late fees added I've called at lease 4 other times to discuss the problem. I also asked for the manager/owner to respond. But, still can't reach anyone to discuss the problem. I do not feel I owe any late fees as I attempted to contact the proper person so many times without success.
Even though the fees are only $32.79 at this point, I don't feel I own anything related to late fees. I would appreciate receiving a $0 balance statement. I've already paid the 2018 HOA fee much earlier than the due date.
Ms. was charged a late fee for cause in accordance with the HOA governing documents which are openly promulgated. Ms. was also advised by SWPM staff that the management company does not have the authority to waive late fees and she would need to petition the Board of Directors via email in order to request that the late fee be waived. For this reason we believe there should be no culpability associated with SWPM related to this matter.
