Select Exterminating

Review: I contacted select exterminating by phone & told them I had a carpenter bee problem & I asked for someone to come out for a free estimate. I was told that was done over the phone & that someone would come out to the house later that day to spray some chemicals & remove the bee hive, if found, for $389. I said to send the person over. when he got to the house, I told him the 2 areas I was seeing the bees(the side of the house roof line & the front of the house roof line) he went up the ladder & said he saw no evidence of sap or wood remnants & that unless he wanted me to put the chemicals up regardless, there was nothing else he could do. I said no to putting the $389 chemicals up since he didn't find a problem. he went back to his car & called the office to tell them what happened. they said to go collect $125 from me since he had made a house call. I said yes, you made a house call, but you didn't do anything other that go up a ladder for 3 minutes. I also told him about the ad that said free estimate. he called back the office & they told him that this was an inspection for $125, which they told him I was informed of. I told him the only thing I was informed of was the $389 for the work he would do. I wrote the check out to cash for $125 & told him to tell his office that I would be contacting the Revdex.com. yes, he came out to "do something" although there was nothing "to do". he also never examined the front of the house roof line. yes, he deserved something for coming out, but not $125 for 3 min of looking at part of my roof! if she had told me over the phone the initial cost to send someone over to look would be $125, I would have told her noDesired Settlement: I will split the cost of the "inspection" of $125 & settle for a check for $62.50 & also expect them to be more forthcoming over the phone.
