Select Financial Services was able to help me payoff my debt with little to no effort on my part.

I am very happy with select financial services. they helped me to get out of debt. I worked with Faye [redacted] and she was always there to help me. every thing was done in a very business like manner but Faye was there for me when I got scared with some of the letters I got from my creditors. I would use them again but dont plan on ever having too.

Review: I answered a call from this company and spoke with a Collector ([redacted]) regarding a hospital bill from 2010. The collector was very rude in spite of being told that the hospital bill had been paid over a year ago. Select Financial had not contacted me or my husband by mail regarding this matter and I asked [redacted] if she could send a copy of the invoice. I told her that if I owed, I would be happy to pay the invoice which was only $31.50. I was not going to provide credit card information over the phone for a cold collection call. She became irate and hung up the phone stating that my credit would suffer for this. I will be happy to pay this amount if it is owed, but I need proof not threats.Desired Settlement: Do not arbitrarily ruin my credit when I have offered to pay, if this amount is owed. Please send an invoice confirming the amount. Stop being Rude!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and although the amount billed is now more than the original amount they were requesting, I find that this resolution is satisfactory to me because I only needed copies of the invoice to detail what they were claiming I owed. I will pay these invoices immediately and request that the business not damage my credit report. Thanks for your help.

Review: On May 20, 2012, my son was involved in a serious car accident. At the hospital I provided the hospital will all my insurance information; I also told them that my primary health insurance through work was listed on my auto policy as my primary insurance provider. A few months after the accident I started to get bills from the hospital, EMS, and the physicians group. I called my health care provider and provided a copy on my declaration page from my auto insurance. Horizon assured me everything would be taken care of. I recently received a statement of benefits and noticed that 1 of the 3 bills was paid. I contacted horizon again and they took care of the issue. In the mean time, I have been receiving harassing phone calls from a **. [redacted], from Select Financial telling me that I have an outstanding balance of $187 and that if I do not pay it immediately that he would report it on my 17-year old son's credit report. His tone was so condescending that I had to hang up the phone. And to add insult to injury, I never received written notification that their was an outstanding debt. I am angry and upset that this man would attempt to ruin my son's credit report, especially when my son does not have anything on his credit report. The phone calls are consistent and my phone is ringing at all hours of the day and night. I appreciate your help. I feel these debt collectors are bullies and reflect poorly on the company that they are representing. I have tried to explain to **. [redacted] that these debts are part of a claim that is not yet completely closed; however, he choose not to loisten and continued is ranting and raving.Desired Settlement: I do not want my son's credit report damaged simply because the insurance companies did not handle his claim in a timely fashion. If they do attempt to report this situation negatively to the three credit bureaus, I will be inclined to take legal action. Please help me with this situation.

[redacted] thought the bill in question was her son's, as the notes on the account indicate that our collector advised her the date of birth of the patient was September 12,1967. **. [redacted] is actually the ex-wife of the patient.

We have spoken with the patient and resolved the account. I have spoken with **. [redacted]: he denies stating that **. [redacted] herself was responsible for the charges, I am also not sure how she came to believe that the patient was her son.

We have removed **. [redacted]' telephone number from the account, so she will not hear from us again. Her address was never on the account, which is the reason she never received any bills. We apologize for any misunderstandings about the account and for any stress this may have caused **. [redacted].
