Complaint ID [redacted] Verdana,sans-serif;">Dear Revdex.com, Customer satisfaction is very important to Select Home Renovation, and we are doing our best to resolve this directly with our customerThe contracted agreement was indeed an estimated $14,of labor plus material costsThe final costs were higher than the customer anticipated, so they do not feel that they should have to pay them...their expectation was that the final bill would be for just the cost of the glass shower doors ($2,615.29.) As I had no knowledge of any such agreement, the final invoice was simply a compilation of all subcontractor bills and material bills, less all payments the customer made ($13,720.14.) Select Home Renovation accepts that we did not keep our customer well enough apprised of the ongoing costs related to their project, and are currently in the process of trying to reach an agreement that is satisfactory to all Regards, Select Home Renovation

Complaint:***
I am rejecting this response because:
As I have already forwarded in my initial complaint, it was the contractor who said to pay for the glass and nothing else That was not my suggestion In terms of the total amount of work done, there were many mistakes made during the project that required the contractor to perform "extra" work to repair and fix Those are not my responsibility to redo work that was not properly done in the first place Throughout the project I was in direct contact with the contractor about how much cost and effort was left in the project, and their final bill was totally inconsistent It is not my objective to have contractor lose any money on this project, but I cannot justify paying double to fix mistakes made, particularly when there was direct communication to the contrary
I have an email from them a month ago agreeing to settle this dispute, but they have not returned the paperwork I sent to them to finalize In addition and more importantly, yesterday I received threatening, harassing, and racial messages from contractor which I am pasting below This is quickly becoming a matter that will be handed over to the police It started as a business dispute where I have presented nothing but facts and I have provided the actual written messages to support that
It has now become a personal attack with threats and racial bias, which I or no one else should have any tolerance for in any context

Review: Hired contractor to fix shower in bathroom. Received estimate of $14,000 + shower hardware. Work was performed with MANY issues most of which were fixed eventually when pointed out by us. We made progress payments toward contract along the way, including one month prior to completion. The payments made totaled just over $18,000. When final bill arrived it was inflated to over $32,000. I have explicit text messages from the contractor that we would not have to pay for any of the labor to fix their mistakes, not to mention the fact that nowhere near $32,000 of labor was performed.

I expected to pay a final invoice of around $2000 for final materials cost and nothing else. The contractor had already promised this, and this invoice we received was a total surprise and not what was agreed to. I have written estimate in email, and all other correspondence in writing in text messages.Desired Settlement: I would like a proper final invoice generated to cover the final materials cost (around $2000), and I would like contractor to sign a proper release of any further obligation. I consider this contractor totally unethical at this point. Tonight he made a comment to me about "having to pay him" or he would put some kind of lien on my house! I don't know what he's talking about specifically, but it's ridiculous that he's threatening us for money above and beyond the contract.
