8/14/16: My transmission broke down in downtown San AntonioI was visiting from Las Cruces, NMNeedless to say, I was in a bindIt was Sunday and I had no wheels in a strange city far from homeI called a few places with 24/towing and [redacted] from Select Transmission was the first to get back to meBeggars can't be choosers, so I had the truck towed to their shop 8/15/16: The parking lot at Select is jammed with vehiclesThis might be a sign of them being in high demand because of their excellent service, but it's really because they are slow and/or overbookedI'd be fine with slow, IF the work is done properly, but that was not to be in my caseThey were super nice and cool as they talked knowledgeably about automotive repairI ended up ordering an upgraded 4L80E with a nationwide year warranty and was able to get financing for the whole cost of the repair, approximately $I told them it would be about weeks before I could arrange to get back out to SA to pick up

The first problem that they told me that had to be resolved to stop the overheating was paid May 5, 2016, in the amount of $1,(invoice #***)On August 9th 2016, went to Select Transmission to make a payment on my vehicle that was shopped a few weeks prior to that dayAfter paying $1,(invoice #***), for worked completed, I then drove awayFifteen minutes into my drive, my vehicle then begin to overheat and this was an issue that I paid to have resolved, not once, but twiceI immediately pulled over stopped and exited vehicle, called Select Transmission and complainedI spoke with [redacted] (the owner), who asked me, where the car had stopped on me at and what happenedI explained what happened and then he told me that he would send a tow truck to pick the car upAfter hanging up with him I then begin to video record what was happening with my car overheating I left the keys on the vehicle and latter that day the tow truck arrived and towed the carHe told me tha

I took my car to this bussto have it diagnosedThey found problems with the transmission and recommended repair to include a transmission rebuildThey guaranteed my to be first in line and done with repairs in days if I was willing to pay upfront for a total $on Sept9, It is now October 12th and I have recieved excuse after excuseI fear that there is something terribly wrong happening with my carI mentioned to them that I have to take days off of work and now have to rent a car because I need transportation for work and my familyI need help with this asap Thank you

If I even began to tell the entire story of my issues with Select Transmission, it would take several pages so I'll try to keep it conciseStay awayThe owner Jeff likes to BS, make as many excuses as possible for why things weren't done correctly and just plain liesIt took about months of going back and forth to get my vehicle somewhat runningI brought it in one time, they didn't repair the transmission correctly and I kept bringing it back letting them know they needed to fix itI kept being told there was nothing wrong, however multiple other repair people said the transmission had been rebuilt incorrectlyAt one point I drove the car hours away to my mother's home thinking it was safe to drive after they had told me it was fineThe car broke downThey argued with me about who would pay for the tow back to their shop which was about a $tow and told me that it couldn't be the transmission that was the issueI informed them that if it wasn't the transmission than the repair would be less than $and I would just have the mechanic down the street fix itThat mechanic said it was the transmissionSelect still said they weren't sure they would cover the tow and I let them know I would be taking them claims court if I had to bring it into another transmission place and have the repair done tehreFinally, Select went up to "look at my vehicle" and kept telling me they were "on their way" but then didn't show up or said they couldn't find the keyThere is a subaru across the street from my mother's home as wellThe neighbors are fairly certain they looked at their vehicle and not mine (MAYBE THEY SHOULD PAY ATTENTION TO DIRECTIONS/LICENSE PLATE/COLOR OF VEHICLE!!!)Finally Jeff went up and looked at it, at first said there was something wrong and then took it back and said maybe there wasHe agreed to tow it at his expense (well yeah, it was there fault it was sitting there in the first place) but when he got back to the shop he AGAIN SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG! It took me driving it for another week and the car getting even worse, which (according to other mechanics) probably caused additional issues he claimed were the issues later on Finally their mechanic Tony listened and rebuilt the transmissionOwner Jeff tried to find some other BS reason as to why my vehicle was acting up but I believe that issue was just a side issue (most likely caused by the original repair)When I finally got my vehicle back another month and a half later (mind you this is after the original fix which took a month and then months of me bringing it in telling them they didn't fix it right), there were oily handprints all over that weren't cleaned up and the car still was having transmission issues when I drove it, granted not as severe but they are still thereThis morning I brought it into a place because I noticed a liquid leaking...guess what it was!? If you said Transmission fluid, you are correct!!!! I'm not bringing it back there ever againI would advise you to stay awayI know I was pretty freaking patient throughout the processAt one point I was told I would get a loaner car and then I spent weeks calling trying to set up a time to get the loaner car before they confessed their loaner car wasn't inspected and was having issuesThey offered to pay $towards a rentalNice gesture but do you think I would trust them after all this?? PLUS the car was still there for weeks which would've meant a rental would've been a lot more than $200!!! STAY AWAY FROM JEFF THAMES! He admitted to my husband early on he didn't do a lot of subaru repairsHe doesn't seem to know much about cars at all except what he can GoogleHe sent my husband some report that he said he had such a hard time getting about subaru transmission issues...I found the same report with a simple google searchIf I'm going to pay for my transmission to be fixed, I expect it to be fixed and not half-fixed or incorrectly put back togetherFind a better placeI'm off to another one now

My GMC Yukon had transmission replaced by Select transmission in with a warranteeOn April 29, the vehicles transmission was towed to the shop for repair due to transmission failureThis is covered under the warranteeIt took them a week to even start on the vehicle repairIt is now May 26, and I still do not have my vehicle repaired
My husband spoke to Jeff, Select transmissions managerHe is promising it will be repaired on Tuesday May 31, I want to report this because no one from that shop has attempted to keep us informedSince the transmission is being completely reinstalled again I want a new warranteeI need this to be followed up by a professional service to monitor there business practicesThey are yet to keep there word

This company supposingly fixed my transmission, however it never worked right, I took my truck back and they said nothing was wrong with it

I am so amazed how awesome this place looksIt's very retro and full of nostalgiaThe staff was completely friendly and very laid backMy Chrysler had an issue with my radios touch screen going blankIt was not all the time however they let me know there were also other technical service builtin on my car that included the seatbeltsSomething I never knewThey contacted bluebonnet dodge and set me up for a service appointment as I was still under warrantyI'm shocked that there are still family owned buisness that will go out of the way to help youThis is where I get my oil changes now and minor maintenance on my other cars
Still new to Texas but I already feel at home
