Re: Case # 19042244 [redacted] Natalie [redacted]
To Whom It May...

Concern:
In response to your letter of September 17, 2015, regarding the above referenced case # I offer the following:
[redacted] signed a contract with our store on August 19, 2009, a copy of which is enclosed.
When Ms. [redacted] came in on July 16, 2015 and left pieces for consignment she was told that we would take them and they would go into inventory if they met our specifications. We tell all of our clients that. If items for inventory do not meet our specifications under close scrutiny (i.e., jewelry with stones missing, clasps that do not work) said pieces will go to donation. Places for donations consist of everything from Goodwill, Salvation Army, Lutheran Social Services, etc., and our store does not receive in any way a benefit from these donations. This merchandise does not belong to us and is therefore illegal.
With regard to the handbag Ms. [redacted] references, the handbag did sell and sold for $10.00. The contract specifically states that a 50-cent handling fee is added to the price of items over $10.00 and is paid by the buyer. So her proceeds are $4.50 not the $4.20 as she stated. Consignment fees are standard consignment rules and are determined by each individual consignment store.
As for the necklace, earrings and bracelet that Ms. [redacted] refers to I personally have no knowledge of her bringing in these items. The sales person that took the items would have reminded Ms. [redacted] that they would go into inventory if they met specifications. If indeed they were left at the store as she claims, apparently we could not use them and they went to donation as the contract specifies. And that's the reason there was no account of them in our Inventory File.
What we believe has happened is that Ms. [redacted] has misplaced her original contract. All efforts were made to prove to her that she had signed a contract back in 2009. She refused to accept that and would not let me show her that I had a copy in the files.
As for the last paragraph of our contract that statement comes right out of the Rules of Consignment book that we have here on file in the store. -
Regards,

RE: Complaint Final Response
This response plus the July 16, 2015 contract are in the mail to both retail business and the Revdex.com.
Firstly, I have worked for a private college, been a Branch Administrator, and worked for the City and all positions asked for my accountability to all actions. Now, if we must return to 2009 and review the 1st contract we can go there. It does state (as the business owner reminded us all in her letter), "The contract specifically states that a 50-cent handling fee is added to the price of items OVER $10.00 and is paid by the buyer." My purse sold for $10.00 not over $10.00; therefore, no add'l fee. If they insist of keeping 50 cents, fine, but how do we get the $4.20 that I will get in October. I see no accountability here. Anyhow, I will stop in the shop Oct. 5th and pick up my check as I understand I must do to receive it. If I am incorrect on the date someone will need to correct me. Secondly, my missing jewelry has mysteriously dissappeared out the back door never to be seen again. I again see no accountability here. When I left the jewelry there is was checked and I was told it looked like an antique and it was sweet. I am working with just actual facts here and to think that anyone can believe that they can guess what I may be thinking at any given time is simply unacceptable. I respectfully submit my last response and hope someone will step forward and at least acknowledge this whole incident was not handled well. Again this copy and a copy of the July 16th contract are in the mail.
