Senate Insurance Agency Reviews (3)

Review: I purchased a auto policy on 8/14/2013, and charged $182.00 for the first payment on the policy. August 15, 2013, I faxed a letter to Senate Insurance requesting that they cancel the policy. I have not received a refund as of this date. I am being told that I will get some small amount back that does not equal the $182.00 payment that I made. I found an auto policy thru my credit union. As it turns out, this company financed the balance of my policy. In no way did Senate Insurance representative inform me that the balance of my premium was being financed. If that were the case, I would not have followed thru. I only had the insurance for two days, surely it should not have cost $182.00.

Review: I have cancelled my insurance with Senate Insurance on 08/31/2013. I have yet to receive my refund from the payment that I made the day before I cancelled the insurance, which was on 08/30/2013. I have made several attempts in contacting Senate but I am constantly getting the run around. I have also contacted [redacted] which is the third party company that takes the payment on behalf of Senate. I was told by [redacted] to contact Senate about 3 other polices that I had remaining that Senate set up. 1 with Congress and 2 with Commonwealth, these polices were not cancelled on 08/31/2013 when I submitted my cancellation notice to Senate. Everytime that I contact Senate I am transferred to a different person each time. The Last person I spoke with name [redacted] was very rude and refuse to assist me with this matter. I was told by [redacted] that I needed to contact [redacted] and I did just that but he is always unavailable.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my funds returned to me in the total amount of $1,161.88.$400.00 paid to Senate Ins on 08-12-13$386.00 paid to [redacted] on 08-20-13$375.88 paid to [redacted] on 08-30-13

Review: I signed an auto insurance policy with SENATE INSURANCE AGENY (SenateAutoInsurance) paid each bill by the date enforced by the agency (on policy) and once I was in an accident senate did not hold up their end of the policy and claimed that I hadn't had insurance coverage with them. I was in a minor accident on December the 18th during rush hour on the way to work. Police were called, they checked each drivers insurance and registration, exchanged information and went about our day. Upon calling who I thought had been my insurance agent [(agent [redacted] office) this is the office where I opened policy and paid my bill] to report the accident and see what the next steps were, she quickly transferred me to another office to speak with Agent [redacted] (an agent or office I had never spoken to) [redacted] informed me that my policy had been cancelled in early/mid November even though the agency continued to take my payments and I was never informed via mail, email, or in person when calling to pay or going into the office to pay my bill. [redacted] informed me that if I had ever called to pay I would have been informed that the 3rd party agency ([redacted] insurance of N.C.) had terminated their contract with the company and I would have also been informed by her finance agents that I owed a bill for an accident from 2011 ( which I hadn't been informed of upon opening policy in 2013 nor had I been informed the four months I paid on the policy. So to prove her wrong I called the financial department TWICE where I spoke with financial agent [redacted] and financial agent [redacted] were both informed me there were NO FLAGS on my account stating that my policy had been cancelled and that I was schedule to make payment on my policy Jan 1, 2014 and that my policy was scheduled to expire September 2014. I immediately phone [redacted] back where she informed me she didn't know why they would report that and she was going over to the financial department (apparently located in the same lot) she phoned me back after about 20-30 minutes relaying information she had already told me. She offered me a refund of all my payments ($800) and told me there was nothing else she could do. I declined because I don't want that to be taken as an admittance to not having coverage because I DID! I asked to speak with her supervisor or have contact information of the president, information she told me she could not give me she took my information and I asked that she have him contact me within 48hours I have since received no correspondence from [redacted]. I also called the MVA (with whom an insurance agency is required to notify once a drivers policy has been cancelled) and spoke with MVA representative [redacted] at ext[redacted] and he informed me that they hadn't received any notice that my policy had been cancelled from Senate insurance agency. They had no reason not to pay the $1237 in damages to the other drivers car, now they are also sending me a bill for almost $1300 for what I have no clue! They are a scam agency which I paid $800 dollars to and once I needed them to hold up their end they did NOT insure my car.Desired Settlement: I would like for senate insurance agency to pay for the damages to [redacted] car. I would like the bill that I have with Senate Insurance Agency to be void.
