Serenity Massage and Body Works Reviews (10)

Review: I bought a 5 massage package. I had one massage and now they do not respond to emails or phone calls. Their email said "undeliverable" and their facebook says they closed.Desired Settlement: Either the 4 massages I have already paid for or a full refund.

Review: 16 December made payment of $150 for 3 massages. Have tried calling several times, sent emails and stopped by office and have yet to date--7 February, received a response. I have made every attempt possible to schedule appointments, no return phone calls, emails returned and no one at the office. I have been a client for over a year and supported their efforts to become a profitable business.Desired Settlement: If the business in no longer active, then a courtesy email along with a refund should have been sent to all our their clients. Total disregard for their clients and taking their money is unprofessional and they should be required to compensate everyone.

Review: I made a partial payment for a 6-session massage package in December 2013. I received the first massage of the package in December 2013. When I arrived for a confirmed second massage appoinment on February 6, 2014, I was told by Essencia in Hockessin (where Serenity had apparently just begun renting space from; they were previously located on Kirkwood Highway), that Serenity is now out of business. I knew they were experiencing problems in January 2014 when I had a few appointments made / cancelled. I tried e:mailing the owner at least three times and calling numerous times to request reimbursement of the monies I had paid but never received services. He never responded. I am owed approximately $87.00 by Serenity Massage and Body Work.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded the amount owed to me - approximately $87.

Review: I started going to Serenity Massage and Bodyworks after purchasing a Living Social coupon. I enjoyed their services and used them an additional time. At the second session I was encouraged to buy a special promotion, where I purchased 2 massages and received one free one. They massages were priced at $75 for a 60 minute massage. I paid for one that day, and returned on December 30, 2013 for the first massage in my package. I received my massage with [redacted], whom I believe to be the owner of the company, and paid for the second massage in my package. He told me then that they were moving to Hockessin and I scheduled my next appointment for February 1, 2014. I arrived for my appointment in Hockessin and his practice had moved into an exististing salon named [redacted]. After waiting 5-10 minutes, I was informed by the receptionist at [redacted] that [redacted] had called earlier that day to tell them he was cancelling all of his appointments that day. She apologized that I had not been informed. When I went back to their waiting room, there were two other women who had massages scheduled with him for the same time. All of our appointments had been cancelled without our knowledge.

I left a message that afternoon with the answering service at Serenity, to complain about the miscommunication and to schedule another appointment. I emailed directly on Tuesday, 2/4/14 and again on Friday, 2/7/14. I then called [redacted] to find out if they were scheduling for Serenity and was informed that he had told them, via text, that he was closing his business.

I've pre-paid $75 for two massages and am now unable to receive a response to my request for a refund.Desired Settlement: I expect a refund of the $75 that I pre-paid for a massage.

Review: Can not get in touch with this company !!!!! Phone number is answering service only it seems. Not returning my messages. Trying to make an appointment. Went on line and that phone number is different. It is a personal phone number with some one not connected to Serenity . Certificate expires in June!!! Reviews on website are not favorable.Desired Settlement: Get in touch with its customers who leave several phone messages so I can make an appt.

Review: I went to Serenity Massage located at 5586 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808 for three visits (purchased through a Groupon during the summer of 2013) at the end of my third visit I was offered a special of buy 2, get 1 free massage. I purchased this at a cost of $180.00 on 8/21/2013. My intent was to use these three massages beetween the upcoming months of Nov, Dec and January and they agreed if I purchased in August, they woud honor them in Nov. In November I called for an appointment and got an answering machine and left a message. I proceeded to call approximately once a week after that but NEVER received a call back. I received an e-mail in December notifying me that the business is moving to a Hockessin, DE location. I immediately called to try to get my appointment prior to their move in January as the Hockessin location was not feasible for me. I called on 12/23, 12/26 and 12/27 (leaving messages each time) - Finally somone called me back and said they do not have any appointments available until after January at the new location. I asked to speak to a manager about receiving a refund since I would not be able to go to the new location. The person I spoke to said they would have the manager call me back in ten minutes. No one ever called back. I called and left message on 1/13, 1/17, 1/17, 1/30 and still no-one has returned my call. The new phone number to the business [redacted]) rings at another business where the employees just take messages. Each time I speak to someone from this "other" business they say they can only take messages as they are sharing the building/office space. I was told they would leave messages for the owner who's name is [redacted]". No-one has been able to assist me and no-one has returned my calls for 3 months. This is very unprofessional and rude. The folks who have recently been answering the phone on behalf of Serenity stated they have been receiving numerous complaints about how Serenity is running their establishment and appeared they were frustrated as well.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of $180.00 either applied to the credit card I used to purchase these three visits or a check/cash. And an appology!

Review: I purchased a package of 3 massages on 7/20/2013 for $180. Since then, I have tried to schedule my first massage. It has been very difficult getting an evening appointment that fits in with the therapists schedules and they have had to cancel two times. The cancellation has happened the day of with very little notice. Due to my work schedule, I need evening appointments and it seems that every time I would call for an appointment, daytime and weekends were the only times available. I initially email the company requesting that a manager call me to discuss on Oct 15, 2013. As of October 21st, I still did not hear from a manager. So I sent another request for a call from a manager and I was emailed back asking when I could come in for an appointment. I emailed back and asked for a manager to call me to discuss and still have not gotten a call. I was assured that the manager would call me several time and still have not heard from anyone. It should be noted that I have called several times with no call back. Desired Settlement: Refund my $180 for the package of 3 massages.

Review: I have paid in advance for five (6) massages @ $50.00 each and only received two (2). I have scheduled several times, one the did not show up and the other two I received an email from an automated system cancelling my appointment. I have tried to contact [redacted] (the owner) by phone and in person several times. As of today he have not responded and I have not received the services paid for. I went to his new place of business in Hockessin DE and the told they have not seen or heard from him and that he also owes them money.Desired Settlement: I have contacted one of the credit card companies I used and they are going to follow through with a dispute. I hope to have all money refunded.

Review: I paid in advance for a package of three massages. I schedule my massages approximately 4 weeks in advance. My last three out of four appointments have been cancelled via email or text message within a day of my massage without any explanation. After the most recent cancellation, I called and left two messages about rescheduling and/or receiving a refund. It has been 4 days and no return call. I also sent an email requesting a refund for my remaining massage and have not received a response. Desired Settlement: I would like the amount I paid for my remaining massage refunded because services have not be rendered. The refund can be applied to the credit card they have on file for me or sent in the form of a check.

Review: I went to Serenity Massage located at 5586 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808 for three visits (purchased through a Groupon during the summer of 2013) at the end of my third visit I was offered a special of buy 2, get 1 free massage. I purchased this at a cost of $180.00 on 12/7/2013. I had a single massage (1 of 3) on 12/22/2013. In February I called for an appointment and got an answering machine and left a message. I proceeded to call approximately once a week after that but did not receive a call back. I went online to the business' site and book a massage, the site charged a downpayment and I received a confirmation email for a date in February. However, when I arrived at the new location [redacted]) in Hockessin, they told me that Serenity had gone out of business. The manager of [redacted] took my name and phone number, promising to follow up with [redacted]. I've not heard anything in weeks.Desired Settlement: Please refund the unused portion of my purchase, 2 massages or $120.
