Sergio's Auto Repair Reviews (1)

Review: Early November I stopped at the shop to inquire about services for my vehicle. A week later, after receiving an estimate and a diagnosis on what services my vehicle needed, I returned and left my vehicle for such repairs to be made. The original diagnosis consisted of a replacement of the "Speed Sensor" at a cost of $70.00 for parts, $70.00 for a certificate identifying my car's passing of the brakes and lights (ABS) requested by DMV, in addition to the $70.00 for labor. Later on the same day I returned for my car with all issues (it seemed) resolved. After driving the car for a few days I noticed a never before heard sound coming from the brake area of the vehicle. After notifying the shop and making them aware that this was obviously a result of the work done to the car, they agreed to inspect and fix the issue. After inspecting the vehicle I was told that it was no longer the Sensor but the car's computer which calibrates the brakes respond time which was not functioning properly, as such they decided it would be best to unplug the computer. After speaking to a second mechanic rep. at a different shop, I was advise that this procedure was quite dangerous and that the shop should fix the issue in a different manner. I took my vehicle back for what would be a third inspection, at this point I was given yet another diagnosis; the transmission. At this point I questioned both the previous diagnosis, as the ABS light turns on and off at different times of the day, and given the lack of the shops inability to provide a proper diagnosis, or to further investigate the work they had done on the vehicle. Both the owner ([redacted]) and his son declined to provide additional work and rudely blamed the issue on my shopping car practices. My complaint is being made because as a female I feel that the multiple diagnosis and the treatment I received was due to my gender and to the perception that as a female I wouldn't know any better than to let it go and not worry about the $250 I spend at this shopDesired Settlement: Given the multiple number of times I received a different diagnosis, I do not feel that the shop would be able to provide adequate services. The owner was extremely rude and would hate to have to go back to the shop, I don't think I would be able to trust their work.
