This letter is in response to [redacted]’ report of numerous rips and tears on two of her newly purchased pants found on 11/**/2016 that were reported to be dry cleaned and picked up on 11/**/2016. As per our records, the customer last dropped off clothing for dry cleaning at our business on...

11/*/2016 and retrieved the clothing on 11/**/2016.Our business takes pride in our inspection process of clothing. We inspect all items three times: when initially receiving items for the customer, a second inspection before cleaning, and after cleaning. We do not accept damaged clothing for cleaning. It is difficult to comprehend how multiple rips and tears which upon visual inspection appeared to be moth holes were not detected throughout this process. It is also questionable how the process of dry cleaning can produce multiple rips and tears. We question the customer’s claims that these specific pants were dry cleaned and damaged at our business and that they were newly purchased given the numerous moth holes. However, with respect for the customer, we are willing to send the pants in question for analysis to a laboratory in order to come to an objective conclusion. We are also willing to reimburse the customer if such a judgment is reached in small claims court. Lastly, when the customer visited us to address the complaint, her behavior was threatening and interfered with our business. Although we understand her concerns for damaged clothing, it is not acceptable for her to tell other customers that were in our store at the time that they should not use our business and threaten that her husband who she stated is a rabbi will post on the internet that people should not use our business. We hope that another incident such as this will not arise and that we can resolve this matter professionally and respectfully.
