[redacted] purchased a 2012 Nissan Altima from us on 7-1-2014, at an agreed upon price. Please refer to the attached buyer's order, signed by Ms. [redacted] which clearly displays an "N/A" in the tax fields. We made no attempt to deceive or otherwise trick Ms. [redacted] into believing she had paid sales tax,...

or that it was included in her monthly payments, as we do not collect tax for the state she resides in. Our finance department reviews every form with the customer before it is signed and this would have been reviewed at that time as well. We did explain this to both her and her husband on several occasions after they notified us that they felt we had misled them, and our sales manager reached out to them most recently on 11-24 as well to try once again to explain. A copy of this buyer's order was also provided to her at the time of purchase for her records. Please let us know if there is any further information we can provide, we appreciate your assistance.

The customer completed a credit application online and gave us an address in Michigan.  As the customer stated in her complaint, she drove in from out of state.  She provided proof of residency with an electric bill with a Michigan address.  All of the paperwork was completed using...

the address provided by the customer.  Now the customer is stating that she wants an Ohio address used.  We explained that since she provided a Michigan address to us as her primary residence, we can not use an Ohio address.  That would be fraud with the banks.  If the customer would have used an Ohio address upfront, we could have used that address but she did not.  The vehicle has been titled according to the address she provided.  I tried to resolve the issue with the customer but was unsuccessful due to the rudeness of the customer.  There is nothing we can do after the fact and I explained this to the customer.  The deal has been finalized with the bank as well as title work and all sales taxes paid.  There will be no further action taken from our end on this matter.   Thanks, Nate G[redacted]Director of Finance

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
On July 1, 2014 my husband and I decided we were interested in purchasing a 2012 Nissan Altima after Serpentini Chevrolet's Service Department failed to repair my 2012 Chevrolet Cruze. At the negotiation table with our salesman, we had specifically, on many occasions, indicated we would like our monthly payments for this vehicle to be between $230-$240. It was fair to assume that this monthly payment would include the tax, title and other miscellaneous fees because in every car purchase my husband and I made previously, these charges were lumped together. To further believe this, our salesman never told us otherwise. After a few back and forths, our salesman assured us my payment would be between $230-$240 a month if I make a down payment of $200. He had me sign negotiation papers indicating I agreed to this. I signed the agreement believing my payment would be between $230-$240 a month for the purchase of the car, with all taxes and fees included. We requested this documentation on several occasions and have received no response. In fact, we were blatantly ignored. Please accept this as my request for any and all documentation concerning the negotiations of the 2012 Nissan Altima purchased on July 1, 2014 by [redacted].After agreeing to the negotiated price, my husband and I met with the finance manager to go over the details. After being berated for nearly 20 minutes as to why my husband and I were opting out of the extended warranty for this vehicle, the finance manager indicated he would come back to us with my monthly payment. Once again, at no point in time did the finance manager indicate my monthly payment would not include sales tax. After much time, the finance manager came back with an amount of $236 for the monthly fees, which also would include GAPS coverage. My husband and I agreed to this as it was within our budget, and we had no reason to believe that this amount did not include all taxes and fees. As I mentioned before, every car we have purchased in the past included all taxes and fees in the monthly payment. Please accept this as my request for any and all documentation concerning the finance and warranty negotiations of the Nisssan Altima purchased on July 1, 2014 by [redacted].I spoke with the sales manager on November 25, 2014 regarding this issue, five weeks after filing a Revdex.com complaint, hoping to come to a resolution. To my surprise, I spoke to a gentleman who was not willing to resolve this issue, but instead made attempts to belittle my intelligence.   I realize sales tax must be paid on a vehicle. I was not informed that sales tax would not be placed on a vehicle that was leaving the state. I also believe my salesman did not know this either, otherwise he would have informed us.  The sales manager that we spoke with on November 25, 2014 also stated over the phone that he did not know which states they could not charge sales tax on.  So it is feasible that this information could have been left out during negotiation because several people on staff are not aware of what is the protocol.  The fact is, is that Serpentini did mislead me in order to get a sale. They could have simply stated, "Just so you know, we aren't including sales tax in your purchase price, so be ready to pay over $900 when you go to register your vehicle in Kentucky." Nothing of the like was mentioned. When factoring in the tax, my monthly payments would be $248, which is over the agreed upon negotiated price. Had I known this would have been the case, I would have either 1.) Negotiated the vehicle to a lower price; or 2.) Walked away and not purchased the vehicle.  I hope that Serpentini Chevrolet can use their best business practice to come to an amicable resolution to this issue.
