[redacted] did purchase his Armstrong floor thru All American floors, and I did measure his kitchen. what he fails to mention is the tiles were two different sizes. 12x12 and 16x16. Why he even mentions that he only used 4 tiles from one box is  odd, since with out them he would have run...

short. If he wanted to dispute the amount of tile, he should have done it prior to purchasing it. as it plainly says on the Proposal , No returns of any kind. most of our customers want at least one box of each type of flooring for attic stock for future repairs. The reason for the return policy is that the Distributor has a similar one. they occasionally make an exception. But only with large restocking fee's. I offered to make an exception to [redacted] based on those restocking fee's. He refused. As far as All American floors is concerned, the matter is closed. We did nothing wrong. they received everything they paid for. And our return Policy is clear. I'm sorry the are not satisfied with the out come. Sincerely Jim D[redacted]

I supplied the [redacted] with the amount of tile I believed they needed to complete their project. as we were not installing it , I had no way of knowing how it would be layed out or how many tiles would be miss cut or other wised damaged during the installation process. I assumed they were going under all their appliances, did they? I don't know? Was it layed square or on a 45 degree angle,I don't know. Because we didn't install it. There are to many Variables. That's why we have the no return policy. This is not a negotiation, It's an explanation. We don't take returns. There was no malice, everything was clearly spelled out on the proposal , number of boxes, square ft per box,how much glue ect... I also had no idea what size grout lines were being used.Who ever was installing it should have measured it.I don't expect you to accept my explanation. But it is all you will be getting. I'm Sincerely sorry. But I can not make an exception to the return policy in this case. Jim D[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: First of all I would like to respond to Mr. D[redacted]’s comments.  [redacted] did purchase his Armstrong floor thru All American floors, and I did measure his kitchen. what he fails to mention is the tiles were two different sizes. 12x12 and 16x16.  (There was no need to mention the 2 different sizes of tile because in the Armstrong catalog they provide a “formula” to determine the quantity of each size needed for a floor using 2 tile sizes) Why he even mentions that he only used 4 tiles from one box is  odd, since with out them he would have run short.(I am not asking for a refund on the OPENED box of tiles.  I Only mentioned it to illustrate the point that we had approximately 21 spare tiles in that box (plenty of extra)but the store owner provided yet another box of that size in addition) If he wanted to dispute the amount of tile, he should have done it prior to purchasing it. (Why would I question the amount ordered? He is a “professional” and I trusted his skill and experience.) as it plainly says on the Proposal , No returns of any kind. (I read and signed the disclaimer assuming that it meant if I changed my mind about the color or type of tile I would be committed to what I ordered.) most of our customers want at least one box of each type of flooring for attic stock for future repairs. (One partial box of each size tile would be plenty for attic stock not one nearly full box and THREE more at $120 per box. The reason for the return policy is that the Distributor has a similar one. they occasionally make an exception. But only with large restocking fee's. (This is the reason that you need to be accurate and if you make a mistake (?) it’s on YOU.)i offered to make an exception to [redacted] based on those restocking fee's. He refused. (Your offer was for $220 and my overage was approximately $470, your offer is not acceptable. I will not be held responsible for a “mistake” he made) As far as All American floors is concerned, the matter is closed. We did nothing wrong. (“We did nothing wrong”?  ARE YOU KIDDING ME??) they received everything they paid for.(and then some) And our return Policy is clear. I'm sorry the are not satisfied with the out come. Sincerely Jim D[redacted]    Secondly I would like to state the facts  I was given a quote based on Jim’s measurements of my kitchen.  293.24 square feet, 12 boxes of tiles. I trusted this and did not check double check it. The actual measurement I now know is approximately 207 square feet.  With the recommended 10% additional recommended by Armstrong Tiles I believe something closer to 227 square feet would have been plenty.  HOW ON EARTH DID YOU COME UP WITH 294.23 SQUARE FEET?  Is this a mistake in calculations on your part or did you plan to sweeten the pot for some extra cash?  For now I would like to think you made a mistake and a refund of $470 will correct it. We all make mistakes but when you do you need to do the right thing for yourself and for your business reputation.   Your bill and what I want returned is as follows; 12 boxes of floor tiles  $1,450.55  ($121.55 per box)                  3 boxes unused     $364.55 2 gallons of Grout $154 ($77.00 per gallon)used about ¾ gallon, 1 gallon unused     $77.00  Sales tax                                                                                                             $30.91   TOTAL TO BE RETURNED TO ME                                                                             $472.46 By the way here is Jim’s return offer. This is his idea of resolving a problem; Our Return policy is clearly stated on our proposal. I will make an exception, however, there is a 50% restocking charge from the distributor. I will return $220. after the material is returned to Patriot floors (BY ME, THE CUSTOMER!) in good condition, unopened boxes only. I am under no legal obligation to make this allowance and it is non-negotiable. Any further discussion regarding the return will result in the immediate revocation of this offer and a return to our normal return policy. ie; We do not accept returns of any kind.
