I payed *** to setup my 125 gallon aquarium as a saltwater tank. He told me he
had over 20 years experience in the business. He seemed nice enough but, from the start,
he did a poor job. He basically took advantage of my ignorance and got paid for it. He used
tap water from my apartment instead of the originally talked about reverse osmosis water.
He also used no water conditioning to remove the chlorine from the tap water. He used lava rock
instead of live rock. The experts I've listened to and read on discourage the use of lava rock
in a saltwater aquarium. The hose that he connected to my inline heaters came apart with a
slight touch. I had to re-seat them and tighten the hose clamps. This could have released
over 1,000 pounds of water in my upstairs apartment. The protein skimmers that he installed
could not work in my tank due to its Euorpean design--- he knew this and installed them
anyway. I replaced the original skimmers with a hang on back skimmer that works great.
The original skimmers are sitting in my room, paid for and unusable. I have included copies
my of correspondence with Mr. French. I tried to work things out with him to no avail.
